I have a roxio, something that they have not mentioned that you need..... if you run turtlebeach, you're going to need splitters and 1 pair audio cables! also, the roxio editor, while ok does sometime need a little tweek with the audio, it will sound perfect on edit, but terrible on upload, it does have it's on NARRATION, and once you have recorded your commentary, you have to mix the audio levels, easy. A GOOD MIC IS A MUST! ALSO!!! CHECK PC REQUIREMENTS BEFORE YOU BUY!!!!

Guys be warned in about a month the roxio game capture device starts to go weird either by making your videos blurry or by having an 'unknown recording error, please thumbs this up so people can see this and steer away from buying this

@NPFurey mine is fine, the unknown recording error is normally if you have an ati chip for directX11, when you change between battery power and socket, the program re-calibrates, unless your PC is from the ARK then you should catch up with the times

@LoganInHumboldt It records in SD until all editing is finished, then you render it, up to 1080p, the only game that doesn't look right is black ops, but people who dont have a 1080P tv, wont notice the difference, I tried it on my 1080i tv and it looked normal, the picture is only slightly degraded on my 1080p, if you were to record actual HD at lets say 1080i you'd need so much memory, you'd be sick and 1080p you wouldn't even bother

I have one of these. I have vids of me using it and you can add effects, audio commentary, music, and text. Its not an amazing thing, but it gets the job done. It does have ALOT of problems however... One problem that is very annoying and common is the device can record the bass EXTRA loud. I eventually got rid of the problem. Just be prepared to have a lot of patience with the hardware and software if you buy one.

The HD-PVR is without question the best product on the market for recording console gameplay as it records in HD. It is also the most expensive product. Roxio is about half the price of a HD-PVR, but it does record pretty decently in 480p. If you're aiming to be a hardcore recorder and have serious plans to become *famous* on the Tube, buy the HD-PVR. If you just want to share some of your gameplay with the rest of the YouTube community, get Roxio Game Capture (console version).

i wouldn't buy this unless i had to ... if you want to be a serious commentator go for a hd pvr .... it is way better then dazzle overall but 480p is not hd, hd is 720p and up. This card is great if you wanna try out commentating and can upgrade later but , if your on a budget save up and get a hd pvr . hope that helps some of you guys

@TigerSparklez Very easy way to record commentaries is by downloading pamela for skype Pro Trial. Lasts 30 days and when it's over, uninstall it then go DL it again. Very easy to use and can record skype calls of any length.

@TigerSparklez Audacity would be your best bet. I made a few projects for school using it with a cheap set of Turtle Beach X11's as a microphone and the sound quality was great. Have a play around with that and a few other bits of software (I'm sure there are other's out there) and find what sounds the best, because audio quality is a major part of what make's a commentary watchable.
