  • @crash man. There was a technical instructor on flight 232 who had studied what happened to JAL 123. Perhaps his knowledge of what happened to JAL helped them get flight 232 to Sioux city

  • JAL 123 =747, decompresses its rear bulkhead so violently it blows its own vertical tail.off Pilots try to steer just using engines for 20 minutes before the mountain wins. UAL 232 also had ALL tail controls fail, but Hall of Fame Pilot Al Haynes had a center engine explode. He was so good, he diverted to Sioux City and got down to 30 ft. above the runway before he lost it. Almost 2/3 of his people survived. JAL 123 lost almost everyone. THEY BOTH TRIED TO MANEUVER ON ENGINES ALONE! HEROES ALL!

  • A 12-yr old girl lived. She spent the night in a tree. A stew also lived, in a tight-squeeze Seat Sandwich. No crew trying this in the simulator ever brought it off.

The 20 minutes they flew before impact gave many ppl. time to write farewell notes.

They had no real controls, steering by engines & spoilers only. In mountains. That means--death. The decompression blew the whole vertical stabilizer off with the rudder. A person far below got a pic that proved it. SEE: Wikipedia, JAL 123.

  • @Crashman2 could be wrong but wasn't United Airlines Flight 232 the same thing, although 185 people survived?

  • That man had explosive diahrea

  • I wish Rebecca Black was on that plane

  • @Applesoop24 too far, seriously!

  • this is why you take a train around japan

  • I listened to the cockpit voice recorder of the crash. That is the scariest thing I have ever heard, I would hate to ever be in that position.

  • Wierd

  • 事実とちがう

  • @boku3doraemon Jal 123 crash was funny^^

  • when was this??

  • I feel so bad their were kids there! I wonder what their friends are saying right now. 8{ rip

  • They got part of it wrong, JAL123 lost it's vertical stabilizer in-flight. The render of it crashing still has a vertical stabilizer.

  • Maintenance error causing structural failure and loss of hydraulic controls

  • R.I.P There are kids.Poor them

  • Zz... so many racists on page 3... Japanese aren't that bad, they are generous, for samples they give gigantic portions and they are extremely polite. Anyway, i feel very sad for those poor grannies... Gives me the shivers if i go on planes next time...

  • @flaminice211 no you are a idiot! he is trying to save lives!

  • Was there any survivers? I hope there was this is so sad. Now after this video Im scared to get on a plane now :(

  • 4 survivors and 520 death were reported

  • The surviver Ms Ochiai said something different from what the video shown. She said nobody was screaming. She heard a kid said "mommy!" but that's even only once. In the last moment there was no vibration, it was falling straight down.

  • lolol "something exploded"

  • this Is So Sad R.I.P JAL 123

  • omg i go on JAL to thailand this scares me now!

  • it has nothing to do with the airline, it was the engineers from Boeing who didnt fix it properly

  • tha pilits not having much luck with the plane it crash bacuse the hidrualic lines brake and cannought contol the wings

  • no offence but are you dyslexic or are just incapable of spelling anything correctly??

  • no cause hes spelling stuff how it would sound hes just young or stupid

  • Something Exploded....NO SHIT

  • i hate these shows, they ALWAYS bullcrap you into thinking the situation is much worse than it is.

ok, firstly why did the guy say "the plane went up and down and the piolets didnt know why" jesus, of course they knew, when you fall you gain speed and the plane is much more prone to raise, but when it rises it slows down and wants to level and decend.

god these shows piss me off

  • if the people at the airport know that the plane is in trouble what can they do about it?

  • Warn the authorities.

  • A parachute in the tail section at least. I mean...spacecraft used the system..and if you dump fuel and cargo....and even just the engines...you can really reduce the weight..reduce speed in a s tall manuveur and deploy a tail section parachute. Or several..like 5 smaller ones. If you are going to crash..you might as well reduce the speed by which you are destined to crash anyway.

  • thats a great idea, how would you slow it down though?

  • A serious question. I have always wondered about the weight an airliner. I know it is tremendous. OK. But. I believe that is possible to design a jet airliner which can eject the wings and tail section, jetison fuel and cargo...install huge parachutes in the nose cone and tail section and simply let the fuselage float to the ground. What do you think? Of course, they may have to intentionally allow the plane to stall to near zero speed before employing such a system.

  • nice idea dude....anything is possible...these are only ideas which are later executed

  • Kyo Who? No..that would be Chinese, wouldn't it? Man that stewardess. She is so hot. I bet her yummy doesnt smell at all. Kyo..big deal...some old guy who wrote a song 1/2 century ago. I would have hated to be those pilots for the last hour of my life. Damn. Goddamn...they were litereally killing themselves to make the plane get out over the ocean. They would have died no matter where they tried to land.

  • Either you, sir, are the biggest sack of shit on the planet, or you just say this nonsense as some kind of sick game, writing purposely antagonistic, evil comments, and getting a kick out of how "outraged" people get... My guess would be that it's a combination of both, so my advice to you is - save the negativity, loser, and get a life.

  • The only pity is that gorgeous flight attendant. She should have been doing porn instead of being an attendant.

  • Fucking ashole

one of them was Kyo Sakamoto

  • Shut up U C***

  • ohhhhhhh this is so terrible....allready writing goodbye notes while going in a nose dive....pour pour people..this makes me cry. and the pilots are heroes!!!!,doing their work till the last second.R.I.P.

  • um how could they film this? is there a camera like going live to the airport?

  • uh?!!!

  • Connor left the room with his dick in his hand...

  • nha im chickening out im only young and this thing is to intence for me. sorry guys im not watching. =[ dont get pissed at me please!

  • i understand

  • God bless the dead

  • I listened to the voice-recorder of this plane and I couldn't help shedding tear. The pilots were trying to control the plane though all the control systems were dead. Under such desperate situation, the captain tried to cheer up pilots until the last moment.

It was nothing but a tragedy.

  • there are many differences between a fact and this documentary film. the explosion was exaggerated at 2:45.

  • nice! absolutely nice video! it will make plane maintenance crew more careful, i really liked your video, i need to see more of these breath taking video's, it's a true story i presume? is it reenactment? anyhow it's very good video i give you 5stars.

  • is there a bomb or something

  • No, this plane All Japan Airline 123 did miss landing once, then broke back body, and occured this accident by critical miss mentenance by Boeing Co. fainally Japanese accident investegation comitee concluded this accident was occured by destroying of the air pressure wall by Boeing mentenance miss.

  • the lost families continue to hike Mt.Osutaka every summer since1985. what flied over 30 minutes on Japan surrounded by moutains was just a miracle. will be equal to miracle la nding to Mississipi river.

  • this movie is a little different to the truth. the passanger and crue were very calm, never be so panic. some childrens vomitted by the heavy picth however near passangers helped the childrens.the attendants announed this plane was safe, three pairots did their role as possible as they, captain encouraged subcaptain, sub controled the plane by using his all skill. some passangers wrote the last letters for love family on the upset plane..

  • I'm surprised by how anyone could survive this terrible crash. Oh man, plane-crashes are so terrible because the pilots and people inside the plane are so helpless when they occur.

  • It is really sad to watch this.

  • i feel soryy for those people on that airline who died that day

  • the fault was previous repair done to the aircraft tail, during replacing a new piece for the tail they only tight one row of screws, actualy they should have done 2 rows of screws. the rear piece of the tail has flew off the tail and made the aircraft loose its control due to the hydraulic fluid fluctuating .

  • i cant watch this video

    great vid rq

  • did they all die?

    i feel really bad

im really scared to go on plane rides

but noting has happeened to me so far

  • the tail fin came out and one singer famous died

  • four ppl survived

  • The people did survive after the plane crash.A few hundred did survive but because the the rescue'ers came late after i think a day or so(dont knw the exact time) most of the passengers died there.Only if they wud have come earlier :(

  • i know...like 911..my aunt was in that :(

  • i dont get it. why did the japanese military or something pulled away the american copper from the crah site. if the copper saved the people there at that time more would survive but why did the japnese autories or navy or somthing said go away and they came back 14 hours laters thats so stupid

  • i fekt so bad for the people at the end. they held each others hands. that sucks for them. they must really love each other

  • 30minutes of hell

  • i thought it's sad how the grandparents died when they were scared. anyways, they could have taken a train.

  • 너무슬퍼...

  • wow that sucks..r.i.p

shows you one little mistake can end it all

  • Yes, that's why you should try to be perfect in any job you do.

  • This accident was the result of a faulty repair done by Boeing to the aft pressure bulkhead. Earlier in the plane's history, it had a tail strike. Inspection after this incident showed that there was damage to the aft pressure bulkhead. JAL asked Boeing for a procedure to repair the damage. Boeing's response was to send a team of structure techs. to fix the damage instead of having JAL fix it themselves. The Boeing techs. didn't make the repair as required. Result - Aft pressure bulkhead failure

  • thats what happens when you get stupid mechanics.

  • I don't wish to be mean but why use a 747 for a destination only 400 Km away? That's not too far........ is it?

  • i know why... because thea lot of people want to fly to that destination at the same time. so to transport more people at the same time they use a bigger airplane like the 747 instead of a 737 or something like that

  • It is a wrong content.

    Rapid decompression has not happened.

  • 事実と違う・・・

    誇張されてる・・・・

    演出だからしょうがないか・・・

  • Can not and do not want to imagen what their thoughts, passangers and crew alike, where before the crash.

Indeed and regardless of those thoughts, they lost a montumetally heroic fight agaist the odds they did not forsaw. RIP, all of them.

  • this is severe reappearance VTR -- this cast is not an all the members Japanese

  • was there a bomb onbaord

  • There is no bomb.

There was no panic like this VTR.

    The carman was directing calmly.

    The passenger followed directions calmly.

  • there was no bomb

there was something wrong with a screw or something

  • the vertical stabilizer flew off

  • I wanted the Japanese Government to accept a proposal of the help of U.S. forces for Emergency help. However, the Japanese Government and the prime minister declined the proposal. Only to preserve their face honor.

  • yeah well technically, they lost control and cant pull up.

  • ćokjnkj

  • did anybody survive? :S

  • 3 people surived.

  • oh okay... thats alot of casualties =(

  • I thought only 4 girls survived from 500is pax

my deepest sympathy to all the victims' family..

  • Yeah either way R.I.P.

  • yes, 4 girls survived. they survived for riding backward seats. one of them get to be a nurse. it is very moved story.

  • Mather and daughter(under 8?),12years old girl,Miss Ochiai of JAL crew.

  • I feel so bad for the couple from 7:13-7:17

    all those innocent people..dead.

may they ALL rest in peace.

this is even more sad cause all the passengers were to celebrate Bon, a japanese holiday.

  • this is so sad!!!! *tears*

  • so sad..hope all the souls in peace..

  • I can remember watching this on TV two years ago, this is probably the most dramatic of Air Crash Investigations I've seen.

  • so sad

  • wtf no it wasnt you dumbass, it was a repairing fault at the back of the plain, it blew most of the tail off so they couldnt control the plane, they kept it in the air for awhile till it reached a mountain range and crashed, get your facts right

  • It was a bomb set off by the passenger going to the bathroom on take-off

  • ur a fucking dumb ass they in japan there no mexican food u retard

  • Dear Mr Filipinoboy, thanks for the interesting comment you left. This reflects your attenuated cerbral function and intellectual level. Your interest however is appreciated.

  • Why this angers me? Because there's proof that many more survived the actual impact, but died of shock over night. According to one survivor, she could hear screaming for several hours, and that it died down as the night went on.

  • WHY did people die over night? Why didn't rescue commence right away? Was it in a remote area?

  • 3 or 4 people survived: a woman and 2/3 girls, smth like that, but there were survivors ( amazing, isn't it? )

  • wow, "SOMETHIN EXPLODED"

  • This is one of the most terrible crashes ever...all those people...:(

  • :( ...

  • I have been listening to the recordings of the pilots before they died, it was very disturbing yet the pilots have definitely paid all their efforts to stop the accident from happening.... *sigh*

  • Improper bulkhead repair eventually leading to a rapid decompression that took out hydraulic lines and a lot of the tail. Any comments regarding radioactive materials had no bearing on survival rate. You guys do know that this is a dramatization, right?

  • What Happened? Did a hydrolic pipe blow up.

  • no and yes. 10 years before this incident happened, the aircraft had a tail strike. they repaired it but appearntly, 10 years later it's proved that the repair was not succeful. then during in flight, the tail and stuff blew off and the plane lost control. about 38 minutes the pilots managed to control the plane by thrust but then the plane came down into a mountain. its very sad. about 500 ppl died. this is very sad. T_T

  • Good vid but bad quality

  • This is very very sad.

  • not funny at all

  • wow...you think thats funny?? You think hundreds of people trying to get to a one place to another gets killed for no mechanical default??? Man your heartless. Good luck in life asshole.

  • what puzzles me is the fact that when the passenger stood up to go to the toilet, the "explosion" took place :x perhaps it's really a coincidence?

    R.I.P

  • It was the worse single airplane crash in histroy.Absoutely the captain and the FO did everything they could and hopefully they could avoid an accident, but they couldn't.May they rest in peace

  • besides the one were the two planes crashed

  • i read on times that tired of waiting, some of the family members scramble up the steep rocky terrain, including a group of sumo wrestlers, to find their loved ones

  • its really unique how the flight was 123...i'll never ride a 456, 789..etc

  • now i've heard everything. what about all the flights that crashed that didn't have sequential numbers??? like valujet 592, Korean 801, i can go on and on. are those all unique too?

  • naw im just saying. it was really weird y this plane flight had to be 123

  • i saw this on a show called mayday.

  • It's a shame that people were unable to go to the site until 14 hours after it occured. The survivors claimed that they heard other passengers in pain for a few hours after the crash until they died and the survivors fell asleep. I heard some people cut themselves and wrote farewell messanges in their blood. Is that true?

  • Used their blood to write messages? I'm from japan and lived in Osaka at the time of the accident but dont recall hearing anything like that.(It maybe true, but)

    It's all so, so sad.

  • American soldiers got to the crash site in helicopters 20 minutes after the plane crashed.

They were ordered to leave the crash site by Japaneses authorities. The Japaneses Self-Defence Forces reached the crash site 14 hours after the crash.

The few survivors said many other people survived... sadly they all died in the freezing cold waiting for rescue.

  • Are you serious?how do you know?

  • Research...

  • that is TERRIBLE!

  • It is said that authority took time because of nuclear materials on board.(medical isotope in cargo which some of them were found after accident but not all recovered and also tail wings' uranium ballast) They could have checked levels of radiation and started saving people... sad

  • don't these planes usually have multiple control redundancies?

  • US and Japanese govts and Media must show the faces of engineers who repaired the plane body, which caused this crash. Why immunity?

  • most of the Japanese engineers committed suicide after they found out why the plane had chashed

  • Why?

  • proabably cant take failure cos the Japanese are usually the best for technology

  • Just think about it... how would you feel if you knew that because you did something wrong. over 500 lives were lost. Even the Boeing engineer sent from the US to check the damage after the tailstrike and to oversee the repairs committed suicide after.

  • Because the Japanese are, generally, very honorable people. It's not common, but it isn't unheard of, for a Japanese [typically, male] to commit suicide as a way of "apologizing" to those who he has hurt in some way or another.

Though, to the person who said "most" committed suicide is wrong. The only person who killed him self was the Chief Engineer. Though, I wouldn't doubt if any other Engineers may have done the same.. just he's the only one reported to have done so.

    Comment is too long.

  • The only thing that angers me is that the US Air Force, who had a chopper arrive not just 20 or so minutes AFTER the crash, was told by the JSDF [Japanese Military] to "stand down", that they wanted to perform a rescue. THEY didn't have a chopper arrive until it was fully dark, due to location, and Rescuers decided to wait until morning due to visibility and terrain.

  • Every airplane crash is a tragedy, even in 9/11, but I think that this is one of the worst. God Bless to all who have passed.

    :(

  • I remember this very cleary. Young girl survived and testified that her sister was alive after the impact and that she also could hear few other passenger crying around her

  • sad in crying!!

  • thats dam scary...

  • sad ;.;

  • this has to be the worst airliner disaster. To be caught in such an uncontrolable situation, where they are climbing, diving, climbing, diving, over and over. It has to be worst than Tenerife!

  • 30 minute is torture!! Horrible death

  • Yeah really horrible especially that the aircraft is having a roller coaster effect because of the Hydraulics.

  • Dude, this was filmed 20 years AFTER the disaster, everything you see are recounstructions based on witnesses and survivors accounts.

  • I dont see anything funny in the world's most worst single aircrash!

And also think before you post. Is it funny that you see people suffering? (Not that I hate americans but,) You americans do stupid things sometimes that gives you all a thumbs down!

  • I don't care about your race Talland but please add some respect to the ones killed not adding insult to death or injury. Think before you post always. ;)

  • Idiot upstart! Its a sad event yet you don't respect the people which died in the flight! You should be ashamed of yourself for posting this very stupid comment.

  • how did 4 people survive this

  • Good question actually the ones that survived where all located at the back portion of the aircraft.

When the plane plunged to the mountains the back of the aircraft has lower gravity than that at the front.

Its sad though that in th investigation more people would have survived if not for Hypothermia.

  • i found it sad that the 2 old people just sat there doing nothing and didnt really care about the plane about to crash mabe because they already lived a life and at the end they held hands
