Thank you for posting this song. I've always thought it was very beautiful since it was in "The Little Drummer Boy." I wish the Vienna Boys Choir would put it on CD or on iTunes.

If you go to a site like Keepvid.com and enter the web address for this song, you can convert it to an MP3 and import it into iTunes. It's not the best quality, so I only use it for music that I can't find to buy on CD or on the iTunes store, but it's nice for songs you love from these old specials that they've never produced for sale.

Great song and like you Kaizer2000, I've been looking for this song for years also. I bought the DVD not only because I love the Little Drummer Boy story, but also because this song is so hauntingly beautiful I could never forget it.

This song strikes several nerves for me. First, the lyrics and tune are moving; it's a shame it isn't more widely known. Second, it was sung exquisitely by the Vienna Boys Choir. This is a reminder of how brilliant the group was, the greatest children's choir ever. It saddens me that now the Vienna Boys Choir, with all the administrative and music pedagogy changes, has sunk to mediocrity. Thank goodness we still have this recording to remember what the group once was and still should be!

@Eddy1963 I found it 3 years ago on the internet. There is a guy who is a Rankin/Bass expert and sells them. I think I paid $15 for it. The cd has the entire soundtrack from the movie.

As I grow older, I grow more sentimental. As a kid I remember that I thought this song was pretty. Now well into adulthood, this show makes me cry twice, and this song sets off the first set of tears. What a treat, months away from the holidays. Thanks for posting.

@yamyam48 You and I are about the same age (I was 6), and from the first broadcast it was my favorite Xmas Special-- from a time when Specials were truly "special" as on demand viewing didn't exist. I loved 9and still do) Charlie Brown Xmas, Frosty, Rudolf, etc, but this was the most beautiful and moving one of all, at least for me. I now own the DVD and at my age still get choked up when the lamb revives after the Drummer Boy plays.

One of my absolute favorite songs of Christmas ever since I was a child, could only hear it when this show--also the best Christmas special--came on TV. I've never been able to find it on an album or CD, THANK YOU for posting this! Vienna Boys Choir should give this song another go.
