I was only 25 years old but the message I heard from him was so true it was humbling and it really played a major role in freeing my own mind from "the matrix". It seems that I am getting a 3 week habit on answering my comments. My favorite things by Gil is the work he did with the Mid-Night Band. Notably "The Last Poets" because this is the original RAP and the ones listening to Rap today are not familiar with it. That is a little sad to me. We have abandoned our roots and gone commercial.
