When was that? 1945? 1973? Yes, very beautiful.

The world's been a hole for many decades, even centuries.

  • I love the "yeeesss" :D My brother and I sang this song spontaneously several times over christmas. Luv!

  • @LouiLoeve Cadence Records label founder Archie Bleyer, is credited on the disc's label as "knees played by" and orchestra conductor. Bleyer's voice is heard in the third verse, when he says the word "YES?" The piano is played by Moe Wechsler.

  • To all you Atlanta Braves fans (like myself): This was the #1 song in the USA when Ralph "Rocket" Wheeler came into the world (January 11, 1955). I guess that you could call "Rocket" a pre-Rock Era baby (July 9, 1955).

  • our faster and modern world makes faster and more modern, electronic music... I can't explain it, but... this music (I came here because of Mr Nobody), this music is... true... and so calm HEY I'M JUST 14!!!! (sorry for my mistakes, I'm Hungarian ^^)

  • @Veronika9720 Take it like this - this music once was too more modern than the one of its days ... things just need to evolve :)

  • @Veronika9720

I agree. I don't consider most of todays music singing, mainly because people use computers so much!

  • One of those songs that screams the 50s, and makes everyone say, "Oh damn, if only I was back there. . ."

  • Back to the future;)

  • Love it !

  • This is humble pie for the so-called music we listen to in the 21st century.

  • @Rhyas9 The "music" we listen to today would be good for interrogating POW's but it would probably violate the Geneva Convetion, being considered too heinous.

  • when I first heard it I thought they said mr. simon ;P

  • Uncle Buck Brought Me Here

  • I love how smooth their voices are.

  • Stubbs the Zombie Brought me here.

  • yes halloween brought me here

  • Cuz I'm not the average guy you usually see everday .. I actually dig older music rather than most of these today's hip hop.. Don't get me wrong i do like alot of today's r&b music but mostly oldies and chinese instrumental music.. it has a serious way of touching me in the heart..

  • @VideBoy I completely agree with you, I wouldn't mind the music industry did a complete 180 turn and made its way back to this kind of music (also a guy lol)

  • @rocknrollkunt wrong. It was the first half of the 1950's.

  • @SuperCOMAME, I WAS born in "the right generation," but it's gone -- EXCEPT FOR THE MIRACLES OF THE INTERNET/YOUTUBE! Soak it up -- I do!

  • Mr. Nobody!

  • la musique que marty entend quand il arrive sur la place de l'hotel de ville de hill valley en 1955...........

  • pretty !

  • I can't listen to this song without thinking of a scene in 'Mr. Nobody', which is what brought me here. It was a really good movie, kind of sad, but I recommend it.

  • This song is so awesome, i just love the time period and ahh idk its a great song

  • Back when music was based on tallent instead of production.

  • I sang this in choir and personally love this music and time period along with my cobra starship and Florence and the machine. So honestly, people should just chill because there is no reason for any of these arguments. Btw, I'm 19 and I listen to a huge variety of music as if my mp3 was a national archive of generations of music.

  • My favorite band of all time is Van Halen but im just so attracted to this song for some reason. 50s rocked!

  • TEMÓN

  • am i the only one who was brought here by Sandman comics? :(

  • @ayahuascamaharaja Nope! I only found out about this song through looking for reviews about Sandman on youtube.

  • im 17 and i love it

  • This song gives me the chills but I love it.

  • 1.21 GIGAWATTS!

  • ive been looking for this song all day its been in my head

  • @JakeJohnRogers

And I was born in August 1953,was a teenager in the sixties and seventies, but I am a fan all my life of Elvis Presley, rock & roll, country.

When I was 15 years old I already knew many of the old artists.

But why should today's youth do not find this music good?

    Modern music is just crap.

  • @MrTheelvisfan I'm 13 and i like this song i find it very nice and calm, and i partly agree with you there i do think that some modern music is very bad.

  • @MrTheelvisfan modern music isnt crap, otherwise it wouldnt exist, and the modern music is always the musics that have the most awards, sure there are some good classics, but there are also very good modern songs, i understand that may just be your opinion, but everyone has different opinions, sure teens like me would prefer modern music over this kind of music, but were not all the same, there's no accounting for taste.

  • John Carpenter's Halloween II FTW!

  • hahaha, I picked this in primary school as my WW2 project song :')

  • This is the happiest song I've ever heard in my entire life

  • Mr. Nobody.

  • Thumbs up if you think of Back To The Future: Part 1 when you hear this.

  • @wafflejunkie always!!!! everytime i here this i think of that seen from the movie.... gas startion full service and all that other stuff.... good call on the back to the future man.... made me laugh

  • It's just like sad goodbye eventually I couldn't because It was too hard..

  • Is that Tony Randall at 1:33

  • j'adore

  • GREAT SCOTT! The greatest movie ever made has brought me back to 1955.

  • the guy that says "YES..." in the song is Archie Bleyer who was the founder of Cadence records and married to one of the Chordettes.. Archie's a very interesting fellow - see his bio on wikipedia

  • i heard this on charmed ^.^ im 15 too and i love it. i wanna watch halloween so i can hear it on there too , i bet i'll love it even more bc the movie will make it creepy.

  • I wished i lived in this generation much better music

  • This song has been stuck in my head all day.

  • Oh, I love this song. Have since I was a kid. Thanks so much for sharing it.

I wonder how many kids today know who Liberace was?

  • Thumbs up if you seen this in 1948

  • man last i heard this is when i saw back to the future

  • i first heard this in a horror movie

  • haha

  • I hear this music played by the halloween movie :P

  • Every time I listen to this song I think of back to the future

  • Music is ageless and as much a part of history as anything else. We should embrace the beautiful art that was left by our predecessors. This, in my opinion, is one of the greatest songs of all time. the 40's and 50's were great periods in modern music.

  • @humblebob1 I'm with you 100 % percent, humblebob. There's something about this song that makes the world

    seem allright for a while.

  • @JakeJohnRogers I'm 17. Problem?

  • I'm here because of an episode of Golden Girls ~,~

  • this record was released in 1954 - teenagers at the time had been born in the 'thirties and 'forties. So everyone under about 75 has come to this music after its time - if you see what i mean . . .and its fab daddy-o!

  • God the 50's were spectacular.

  • I'm 15. I like The Chordettes, Buddy Holly, Frank Sinatra, Judy Garland. And at the same time, I like Katy Perry, Green Day, Jessie J, etc. Why can't more people my age feel the same way I do?

  • @nerdysinginggirl I feel the same.

  • This makes a really good lullaby.

  • God, I'm glad I grew up with my grandparents. I'll always love this song.

    I'm 22.

  • I was born in the wrong generation.... :'( it was beautiful then

  • Mr. Nobody brought me here. It's probably my favorite movie of all time.

  • The most deathly but undeathly song ever.

  • sounds like it fits in fallout 3

  • nothing brought me to this page. I just felt like hearing this. I'll admit though, I first heard this song when I saw Back to the Future for the first time about 13 years ago.

  • If you like this song you'll also like Sh-Boom(movies Cars and Clue). Both songs came out in 1954. As did I.

  • 1954 was a great year. It gave us this song and if you like this song another you'll recognize from 54 is Sh-boom(the movies Cars and Clue). 1954 was most notable for me as I entered the world that year.

  • Im 15 years old and i love this sond
