The day was the BEST day...and this is the best vid for this tune. Why? Because it's recorded in mono, which is what the deal was then. I just tried the stereo version of this exact same video, and my speakers are PISSED! Thank you for keeping it real,Schmoey.
i remember this. they had ll cool j come out for the first musical segment, and people about had a stroke. it was bizarre. after that they brought out tom petty and everyone was perfectly fine. i remember being pissed off. i wanted to hear im bad. lol first and last time a music act didnt get to perform twice. horrible i know but that how it was back then. thats why these old acts where so bad ass. look at what they had to deal with.
Man I've been doing all kinds of google searches looking for this video. 10-24-87 is when this aired on SNL, I was 16 trying to scratch like Cut Creator and Bobcat. Good look on the video.
If I was Cut Creator, I would have been pissed. The song is dedicated to me, so what's with all the attention to Bobcat? Yeah, I know that Bobcat was a new cat on LL team and LL wanted to show off his skillz.
@ahhyo2006 I always wondered what the deal was with all that. Maybe because Bobcat had a solo project coming shortly. Regardless, check out Cut Creator. I think he was actually producing the sound. Deejaying never looks like what it sounds. Bobcat is bad, no doubt; but Cut Creator looks like Premier or Jam Master Jay putting in work... purposeful disc, needle, and fader action. Bobcat might be a bit "too animated".
nah neither one is actually cutting live. If u peep Bobcat's Numark mixer there's no RCAs leading from the output . If anything one of them might be playing the actual track. My money is on C.C. on the GLI mixer.
also noted check out Bobcat's right turntable. See how the cueing lever is in the UP position on the side of the tonearm? Same thing in the I'm BAD video. Bob is still dope though!

Good eye! Plus for the DJ to hit every mark at a live show? Hmm, I should've thought it through. Thanks for the enlightenment.

@ahhyo2006
That said. I had love for the whole crew. I bought Bobcat's single and played the b-side of the cassette until it popped ("Bobcat Has Proven")!
By the way, I was a little hot about it back in the day, too.
