owned both, xp rides better, more power. brute is sportier feeling, and is easier to throw around, but both great quads. had several problems with the brute, thts y i ended up w/ the xp...very happy with the xp! as to the longer track commet???the xp has way more top end than brute..still have 3 friends w/ brutes..out of hole we r very close, by 40-45, im pulling away, and by 65...goodbye. xp has prob, 10-12 mph more top end. ive seen 79mph on my stock xp, my brute w/ mods = 69-70mph.

The 850XP is a freak, I am waiting for someone to change the gearing from top speed to acceleration. Change the gearing on the popo and that heavy beast will slaughter everything. Same with the thundercat! Top speed is worthless on atv's!

forgot to mention earlier we both have over sized tires and polaris was running factory 26'... my 05 has tons of mods with 29.5 but the 08 had none with 28...both out ran the polaris with each riders. Take it for what its worth thats the facts

All I can say is polaris must have sold my buddy a dud..I have a 2005 brute force and another friend has a newer 2008 efi brute force and we both out ran our other friend with the polaris 850..now this was a short drag about like the video but different out come.. we even switched riders to see if that was different..same results.

@dopeydude32 It is only 80 pounds heavier than the Brute, but it has about 20 more Hp so the weight is not even a factor. Polaris is just a far superior machine! In every category!

XP's suck. Ditch the rubber belt & put it on a serious diet. Better yet starve it for 2 wks. They should use a steel belt CVT like on the Toyota Prius. CAN-AM 800 beats it hands down even. What a flop I am disappointed in Polaris.

(I don't have time to drive it)I have never raced anyone with it.It cost me about $11,000 with the plow and winch.It handles like a cadillac.It broke the world record for the most people on a 4 wheeler while doing a wheelie which is 20 people.So no I have never raced with it. I just wanted someone to respond to my comment and check out my channel.So maybe someone would focus on something more important than a quad

Ok ...this is silly, i work in a kawi dealer and we raced all the polaris's , we beat every one exept the 850, we beat it untill 68miles per hour, wich means kawi accelerate better, light weight, compact, there small, witch means polaris doesent know how to make a nice engin small lolz theres are heavy and break alot..... and outlander was tough but we still beat it, suck it popo and congrats can am(canadain :P)

It seems like at the middle of the race, the polaris got some kind of nitro boost and won the race. What was that? What was that acceleration at that high speed? The acceleration of the brute force was at the beginning like all machines do. The too much acceleration of the polaris happened at a high speed! maybe also replace those cheap stock tires and wheels, maybe a lift to match the xp's 12" ground clearance. Dont forget to pull your differential control when getting stuck or you'll be three wheeling it.

yeah i know. that lever sucks! at least with polaris you can steer the damn thing without power steering!! its extremely hard to steer the grizzly, brute force, and kingquad. correct me if im wrong. the outlander isnt too bad with that visco-lock 4x4, but i dont really like it

Well IDK bout the popo much, but the BF has a top speed of 79mph. Which is extremely fast. The BF is also lighter. Make it a fair race. A 850 vs. 750 is far from fair. Lets see the 800 vs. 750. The 800 would get owned. Poalaris is also way to heavy for a sport/utility. And uses to much plastic.
