@sindrole They rarely played more than a couple songs at their gigs and had their backs towards the crowds at times. Punch in "North Poly Riots" and you will see them at their best!
Love them when I was a teen and love them now at 42.
@ducatione totally agree, saw them at the Mayfair in Newcastle when I was 16 and it changed my whole take on music. Excellent and completely underrated band.
Was that 1987? If it was I was there, 17 years old, the first band I saw. They were only on about 45 minutes, but it was as intense as anything I have seen since (until Jim staggered off the stage).
And 22 years later, the only band I will continue to love, perhaps for all my life. This is sad in reality, because the music is all about heartbreak, disillusionment, alienation and desire.
This song makes me so sad. It reminds me of this one person who I loved so much but never really told this to, he once wrote this to me in a letter (don't ever change). He really liked me and wasn't as afraid to let that be known, but I was always the one backing off. The last part of this song says it for me - it's just the way you try to hold me down...I would have loved to stay for him, but my heart said I had to keep on going. It's been more than twenty years and it still hurts.
How can we describe JAMC music? It makes me want to die, makes me want to live - live a fulfilled life with joy and sadness. Their music has never changed in that essence to me. Love them so much.
Para mim é já a muitos muitos anos a melhor musica de sempre!!!!! Tenho o barbed wire kisses desde 88 e sempre achei esta musica um sonho.... the best jesus and mary chain
I'm pretty new to JAMC but i got the boxset after hearing the psychocandy album. Randomly listened to this song as i was playin each Cd all the way through. EASILY their best song:P
if anyone wants me to send it then just ask ok, i consider it sharing the love.
i'd never heard this before. It's on a B-side album and thats the reason why. If were on one of the major efforts it'd be held in higher esteem. I'm probably gunna go buy it now... Barbed Wire Kisses (& love)...
Brings back memories of 1988.

@sindrole - because they regularly used to beat the crap out of each other, brotherly love when it was done properly - ie. before Oasis ;-)

i'm just now getting into these dudes and i wonder how they have a reputation for fostering violence. it's not exactly fighting music.
