Well i think they got a guy who was suicidle and put him in the same clothes and a wig and put makeup on him and Criss was in the helocopter and when the flames came up criss went down the rope and into the cage while the suicidle person fell ^.^
I am glad I am NOT the only one that saw the clouds change from one shot to the other. Even the old TV show Bewitched did better TV MAGIC then this. Geesh the clouds are very oviously changing and NOT from wind either. would have been much more convincing if the helo and cage were down into the canyon; because then the clouds would not have given the whole thing away.
Chris you should have did a little bit more editing before televising your canyon jump; because if you watch the upper right hand corner when the fire explodes you most certainly CAN see that the cloud in the shot is NOT covered up by the fire and the cloud changes (and NO it is not a normal transitioning of a cloud due to wind) instantly to another pattern which can only be accounted for by a TV magic type of cut away much like in the old Bewitched TV show.

I was watching this on tv, and I have to say, I was so dissapointed in the premier. Most of the time, I cant figure out how he does his illusions, but this... this was just sad. thats exactly what happened, he was already in the cage (illusion cage) and the ramp (also an illusion ramp).....so there's no risk here that one would assume there would be. At the time the frlah kicked off, the t-rax goes into the hanger (mirrors or something so you can't see it.) And Chris becomes visible. You really think they'd drop the t-rex off the cliff
This is the biggest bunch of hooey he has done yet. The guy spends 50% of the show talking about himself and how "dangerous" this is. They drive the T-Rex into a box inside the ramp - notice he's going about 25mph. Not enough to put it over the edge. not quite....chriss was in the cage from the get-go. At the time of the explosion, tghe t-rex is parked onto the hager/flat portion in the ramp. Then, At the same time Chriss from afar becomes visible. Conclusion, both the cage and ramp were illusion built props.

The fire looks computer generated. It CONVENIENTLY covers the entire screen so they can claim it's a continuous shot. People couldn't be there? People walk the Grand Canyon all the time. This trick was as awful as they get. It was so obvious the flames were edited in and the it was multiple shots spliced together even though he was trying to say there was no camera tricks. What is the definition of "real"?
For it to be "real" does he have to use actual magic? Or for it to be considered "real" does he have to use some form of trickery that doesn't involve the camera?
If your definition of "real" and "fake" is determined by whether or not the person used real magic and has paranormal abilities, you may want to go back in time to the 17th century where you belong, because there's no such thing as a "real" magician!!!

@deadlywizard234 What makes this "fake" is using camera tricks & not being able to do illusions (which are fake, but still look real) in front of live audiences & without the aid of camera tricks. No one said anything about super natural powers.

He should be ashamed 4 calling himself an illusionist, as illusionist can do his illusions in front of a live audience WITHOUT the aid of cam tricks & CGI. So u might as well call Steven Spieldberg & George Lucas illusionists, cause that whet they do, use camera & computer techniques 2 fool ther audiences. & what u see is what u get? Well, if thats true, I saw "real" dinosaurs in Jurassic park, so that must mean dinosaurs are real, since thats what I got when I saw it??

I love the song they used in the background as music.....anyone know the name or artist? thanks ^.^ I know it's an illusion but even illusions are cool, too. it's as close to magic as most people can get. I like Criss Angel.

I was watching this on tv, and I have to say, I was so dissapointed in the premier. Most of the time, I cant figure out how he does his illusions, but this... this was just sad. I love him, but, could'nt they try to make it a little more realistic? Hopefully next week will be better. Still love ya though Criss :)

Criss obviously got a double in the cage, and to make it appear as if it is Criss himself, they redid it with Criss in there.
Notice how in none of the continuous shots it shows that it's Criss in there, and once you think they will be zooming in and proving it, it frigging cuts away. It can not be more obvious, buddy.
And Criss isn't known as the "Hollywood Magician" for nothing. He uses video trickery (and stooges) a LOT!

I like how at 2:17 he tells the camera crew to back up for a "continuous shot," and then at 2:29 the shot changes before he even takes off. Are the moving PIPs suppose to be Chris Angel's half-assed attempt at misdirection? I'd like to think the T-rex drive really was a double who drove the car UNDER the ramp, and that Chris Angel was already hidden in the cage waiting to "appear," but this is such crap I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't even try that hard.

thats exactly what happened, he was already in the cage (illusion cage) and the ramp (also an illusion ramp).....so there's no risk here that one would assume there would be. At the time the frlah kicked off, the t-rax goes into the hanger (mirrors or something so you can't see it.) And Chris becomes visible. You really think they'd drop the t-rex off the cliff

This is the biggest bunch of hooey he has done yet. The guy spends 50% of the show talking about himself and how "dangerous" this is. They drive the T-Rex into a box inside the ramp - notice he's going about 25mph. Not enough to put it over the edge. The whole thing is camera tricks as he is in the cage the whole time behind a semi-transparent screen that obscures is body silo.

@Vampireftball 1.) Fire cover the whole screen. 2.) None of the other 21 camera angles where shown. 3.) didnt show the cage cam when he did it. 4.) No Car in the air. 5.) No blown up car at the bottom of the canyon. 6.) No Audience or Fans besides him and his friends. 7.) How he did it- drove car fast. explosion(mostly fake). He stops car. gets out. picked up by the helicopter, and when hes in postion, they fire up the "explosives" so it looks like they just went off. Some illusion.

not quite....chriss was in the cage from the get-go. At the time of the explosion, tghe t-rex is parked onto the hager/flat portion in the ramp. Then, At the same time Chriss from afar becomes visible. Conclusion, both the cage and ramp were illusion built props.

The fire looks computer generated. It CONVENIENTLY covers the entire screen so they can claim it's a continuous shot. People couldn't be there? People walk the Grand Canyon all the time. The car just disappears without going over the edge? This is a camera trick, plain and simple people. Anyone who thinks otherwise is extremely gullible.

I feel bad for Criss Angel because he's trying to star this new show in Vegas which is huge, and he's everywhere out there (i just got back from it) and yet this is the best he can do with a huge budget? So sad.

This trick was as awful as they get. It was so obvious the flames were edited in and the it was multiple shots spliced together even though he was trying to say there was no camera tricks. Then they shot 3 flares up to give a bogus little smoke effect and the shot of the car he was riding in at the bottom of the canyon was awful too; just smoke edited in. A real illusionist should not use camera tricks. You just lose all credibility when you do!

As much as I like Criss magic and even has his theme song as a ringtone...this one is pretty bad.
The clouds are not even the same in that so called continious shot showing both angles at the same so time....very easy to easy the cut when the fire takes over the view....hope he avoids this and goes back to what made him the best.

I don't care if there was a continuous shot, the fire still covered up that screen as well, it was the same view.
