Why do people have to show so much disrespect is beyond me. This guy is a guard/ Soldier, he also probably has gone to the wars in the Middle East. He is representing his Head of State (also mine). He has done a lot of training.... This guy gets low pay and what does he get, a smart assed kid jerking him around. I was in my countries military (Canada), so I feel for this soldier, he deserved better. I should think I would have sent this brat into next week.

@HannichkaK that's the palace guard, he's a royal guard. (they are as close as the police to a vet),,,,and it's still wrong. there are videos of people climbing the fence of the palace in an attept to get in (royals were on holidays at the time) but the guards left the guardboxes, scaled the fence, pulled the guy off and proceded to pummel him into a litteral coma. the outcome, one nut job in a wheel chair for 24 months and,,,,,,that is all.

The guy totally deserved it...soldier's only doing his job. How'd he like it if some foreign tourist came up to his desk whilst he's working and started mimicking his every move and taking the piss etc? They might be guards/soldiers and trained to have a strong skin but they're human beings too. People get angry when they're wound up. Also why outline that he's a Scots guard? What does it matter whether hes Irish, Welsh, English or Scottish? Our soldiers are all British and all serve the Queen.

@jimmy3285 Experienced soldier should have a little restraint, or be retired. They are supposed to take shit off the government, public or anyone. They are not paid to think, judge or act without orders. An officer tells them to run up a hit and die, they do it. They react when told to react, not when they feel they have had enough.

@MrClownshoe They have rules of engagement. Strict rules for a reason. A soldier can act independently in battle, even loosely interpret an order, but cannot go against an order. If they do, they'll either get a medal, court martial/discharge or a bullet to the chest.
Guard duty like this allows no acting out.

I know it's a tradition but maybe it's time to do away with it. The bearskin-hat wearing guards are an elite military unit in Britain, with a lot of pressure on their minds obviously and last thing they need is to be constantly mocked by juvenile idiots. Why not just have regular guards with AK-47's in MODERN WARDROBE.
