so you are Holding your breath? hahaaha. Sympathetic system Dilates your eye. When you are holding your breath, CO2 concentration in the body increases, so I made a quick google search and found this "For example, increased blood concentrations of carbon dioxide will cause stimulation of the sympathetic nervous system"
Hi my name is Vlada and i can do this non stop. The fucking electrical feeling is always in my legs and its driving me crazy sometimes i cant even sleep. ive asked doctors and no one knows what to do. do you have problems with it? I've woken up twice with the electric feeling and felt it happening and my whole body started having spasms. I felt like i was having some epileptic attack or something, although i don't have epilepsy.
@vladiskvortsova It is most likely a form of tics which is a form of tourettes my sister has the same thing and she cant control it and it's involuntary u should see ur docter about it
Ive learned how to do that automatically after smoking pot a couple times.I noticed my pupils would dilate every time I got stoned and observed them in the mirror. My eyes felt different as well and now I can do it without being high. Its like turning on a switch in my brain to feel that same relaxation on the eyes that pot has taught me to experience. Its somewhat like a learned experience I guess
This is fantastic. I'm writing a book about this. Our pupil dilation is tied right into our sanity and our ability to replenish our Cerebral Spinal Fluid.
Great to finally see other people who can do this! You're right about that adrenaline feeling. I know of several people who use an emotional or some other type of trigger to dilate their eyes but never someone who could just do it. I'm not sure sure about the "3rd eye" explanations but it is cool to find others with this quirk :)
:O I can do that!! The electricity is based around my sacral chakra... and then kind of goes everywhere. And If I don't control it... My body starts to shake.
I am able to do the same thing while experiencing the same feeling you explained in the end of the video. Please contact me through Faebook. Sheila Harding Oceaside CA Mira Costa college. unless there is a way to write mail through Youtube. I am new with my account.
I can control my eye muscle for this too, it feels like Im pulling a string behind my eye and light leaves and things get blurry. Once I want to restore my vision it simply just feels like I let the rope go that I was pulling on and things become bright and clear again.
Lol I can do this it makes me really hot like instantly sweating XP and twitch takes some real concentration to do I remember going to the doctors when I was younger and him saying I could mess up the heart rate test or something as my heart beat kept changing :P
I have been doing this since I was a wee lad, it is a big difference when I hit this and my anger switches at the same time. I know it gives me a powerful burst of energy which I use when I am training, or fighting. This kind of stuff is very interesting to me and I like to conduct my own little experiments too :]

when i do it i get a wierd rushing feeling down my legs. Even more strangely, i've been on prozac for maybe 2 months now and this feeling in my legs is constant and doesnt go away :S:S:S
I always wondered what that rush was. So its adrenalin? When i do it for too long, i get really tired and out of breath even if im just sitting there lol
@EwwMandyWtf No it's just shock. If you could trigger adrenaline you would be able to move cars around, even if you weren't ripped at all. So yeah I don't think it was adrenaline.
No way I can do it too! On my first attempt. Got a vid of it aswell.
Is it useful for anything? I know voluntary pupil contraction is useful for seeing underwater without goggles but I have no idea how to do it. If anyone does, tell me how please!!!
the reason why having a rush of adrenline causes your eyes to dilate is because the adrenline causes your heart to beat faster and causes your pupils to dilate so you can 'better see' why you are having a rush of adrenaline. the same thing when you hear someone call out 'LOOKOUT' or something to you or aorund you. your pupils dilate so you can see the reason why the person said look out.
I can just sort of "flex" mine to get them to dilate. I don't know how else to describe it. I don't really do anything with adrenaline or anything, but I can... "feel" whatever controls it and I just sort of... flex it and they dilate. Kinda hurts a little, though, if I do it too much or too hard.
I can do this really well. I've been doing this for 20+years but I only tonight decided to look at my eyes while doing it. It kinda freaked me out because I can make my iris pretty much disappear. When I do it, it's a really intense feeling waving through my body. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one.
I really want to do this. I have a really freeky smile (volintary) so being able to dilate my pupils will make me looking like a evil crazy anime character :P
I can do it, it's hard to sustain for more than 20 seconds or so. If you make a point to do it regularly, you increase how long you can hold it. When i do it while meditating, concentrate on the Pineal Glad - I see a point of light that begins to expand - that's about the tine when I can no longer hold it and it goes away. Not sure what it all means - but a strange thing indeed.
I can do it too. I used a heartrate machine thing to show my heart speeding up as well. Loads of people are trying to explain it and say its not possible or its a trick.....its is real. Its like tensing a muscle, i dont need to think about anything in particular or any scenarios...i just do it, its like tensing somewhere in your stomach/chest. My pupils just fly open and i feel my heart racing and beet really hard. Maybe all can do it, just practice..
Huh, weird. I could always do that tingly adrenaline thing, but I never really knew how to explain it. I wasn't aware it dilated my eyes though until doing it in the mirror just now.
Yeah i can do this. When i read you description i was like OMG thats exactly what its like!! the arousal in your body causes noradrenaline to dilate your pupil. I think thats right
You have learned how to flip the amygdala switch. The amygdala is between the back of your eye and your ear, just behind your temple and a bit above. This is the 'switch' that makes this possible. This is what gets messed up with people with panic, and by learning to control that switch you can resolve panic disorder immediately. It is a cool trick but it also has usefulness.

I learned how to do this in the 4th grade, i would use it while playing soccer to give myself a rush before a sprint. the more you use it the better you get at it and pretty soon you can do it in a second without even trying but if you hold it to long you will feel on edge and and you will get intense chest pains.
I can do this too. When I was in 4th grade I learned I could send an electrical feeling through my body at will. I cannot explain how I do it, I just can. Also I learned that when I do it, my heart jumps from around 75 bpm to about 150-160 bpm. It is also a very good feeling but can only hold it for about 6-7 seconds. I have shown people in the medical industry this and the are always very, very amazed. I'm gla I'm not the only one out there with this ability.
I've been able to do this my entire life but also never met anyone else who could nor figured out what it was. Hard to describe how it's triggered.. I just tense the muscles in my neck and face and there's a rush of energy inwards from the rest of the body towards my head. Never thought to look in a mirror while doing it, but also confirmed the same thing happens to my eyes. It's rather exhausting to do though. A few times and I feel wiped out.
@necromatter ive been able to do it since i was like four. like you also tremble if you do it hard enough and ur heartbeat stops then gives a hard THUMP and goes faster. never knew anyone else can do this. i would like to know what it is
ive always been able to do this, and didn't know it wasn't normal until someone pointed it out to me. i usually do it when im trying to read a persons intentions, it just feels like mass amounts of concentrated energy coming out of my eyes. I turn it "on" by micro focusing on the person or object im trying to analyze.
Woooowwww i can do this too! (although its a bit challenging because i just got into it) how can u better focus to get them to do this whenever? like, say...in the dark
unless youre 1/2 reptile, your intrinsic ocular muscles are smooth muscle. in mammals and amphibians pupil dialation is an autonomic response. unless adobe can alter your genome too...
@notforclimbing12 u cant control autonomics, but u can learn things/do things which do affect autonomic input, so it becomes an indirect control.. its not unusual.
@notforclimbing12 And? If you read the description (regardless of the biological inaccuracies) you can tell that he is describing dilating his pupils by using his thoughts or emotions to trigger the autonomic nervous response of pupil dilation. You can't actively control your heartbeat, it's an autonomic process. However, stop and close your eyes and imagine yourself in a physical fight with someone you wouldn't mind giving a black eye or two. You just voluntarily sped up your heart rate.
@notforclimbing12 people have been studied that can control some of their autonomic responses. A monk dude was recorded increasing his heart rate to 300 beats per minute for a short time. Thinking hard about something intense can trigger the release of any number of chemicals from dopamine or cortisol to adrenaline.
Haha, ya LSD is a very good way of doing this - not to mention you have the added benefit of a psychedelic experience. I can do this too (without LSD), I've tried explaning it to people, but I don't know how to explain it as it is pretty much all mental, I don't 'flex' any kind of muscles in my eye's or tense up or anything, but I do feel a rush throughout my body. It's almost like that feeling you get when you go down the hill on a roller coaster or any kind of free fall...
hey man i ran across your video the other night and tried it out. turned out i had a natural talent at it and was able to dialate and can do it quickly on demand. its as if i found control of a new muscle. also discovered i could wiggle my eyeballs. thanks for helpin me find the hidden talents man
You've figured out how to dilate your pupils at will? There's this thing I can do to make my vision kinda blurry- do they dilate when I do this? Can I train myself to dilate my pupils?
I think your level of stupidity is a "physiological anomaly" ... Your adrenaline explanation was a laugh out loud experience for me. Just watch the other pupil dilation videos on youtube to get your answer to why MANY can do what you Barely did.
@Stallion769 Why? The pupillary dilator muscles in your eyes are wired by sympathetic nerves (Fight or flight response). If you make yourself feel scared or angry or wtv your pupils should dilate.
I can do it too.. Usually happens when i focus on something close or far away..Ive practiced it over time to the point i can focus my eyes at different distances without anything being there..Dunno if my eyes dilating at that is just part or it or not..I could record it and upload it perhaps?
Thats pretty cool, i just tried to do that. 'tried' being the dominant word there. I have very reactive eyes, by this i mean.. if i've had a few pints, i look like i'm on pills. The same applies to a higher extent, if i'm on pills, i look like i'm in space. Much more so than others too. I was wondering if anyone had any information relating to why this is? I always thought that our pupils changed depending on the light, i have extremely good eyesight in dark conditions and wear contacts.
actually its quite easy, just imagine focusing on a fake object right in front of your face, your pupils will accommodate to focus in on this fake thing you are visualizing, you can also make them contract by trying to stare through your mirror, imaging you are focusing on something 10 ft behind the mirror and your pupils will contract
@Rochell0 Yes dialated pupils can sometims signify a friendly feeling, infatuation, or attraction. So it is possible that he likes you, but if he has dark eyes his pupils may just look large
@Rochell0 Not sure how old you are, but if you are at a club or something when you notice his eyes are dialted it may just because alcohol intake becuase alcohol as well as other drugs can make your eye dialate.
holyshit! i have always been able to make myself like feel a rush by thinking soo, like adrenaline rush and after i saw ur video i went ahead and did it infront of a mirror and mi pupils did dialate.....just like urs XD
I know this is not fake because I also can dilate my pupils voluntarily. I just discovered this recently. It's strange I don't have to think anything I can just do it. Its cool to know other can do this as well...I wonder why some people can and others can't?
I can also voluntarily release adrenalin but I never noticed it made my pupils bigger as well. I've been able to do this since I was a little kid but never could describe it to anyone well enough that they knew what I was talking about. I can speed up my heart rate and then deliberately slow it back down again as well. This is the first time I've ever found anything online about it. Have you always been able to do this? Do you think it has any merit when it comes to meditating?
i can shrink my pupils...everything spilts into 2 and at the same time it's blurry, its, weirdly, fun!

ive always been able to do this, and didn't know it wasn't normal until someone pointed it out to me. i usually do it when im trying to read a persons intentions, it just feels like mass amounts of concentrated energy coming out of my eyes. I turn it "on" by micro focusing on the person or object im trying to analyze.
nicolemasso 1 year ago
Woooowwww i can do this too! (although its a bit challenging because i just got into it) how can u better focus to get them to do this whenever? like, say...in the dark
solitairirose 1 year ago
I can do this too. It's like a voluntary adrenaline rush. I do it, and my pulse beats faster, my eyes dilate, and it feels crazy
Kurtplox 1 year ago
Hey,i know it!! If you see a dark place, your pupil expands!!
and if you see light your pupil back to normal!!

omg ur pupils look like they're pulsing.
vanderwoodsen90 1 year ago
unless youre 1/2 reptile, your intrinsic ocular muscles are smooth muscle. in mammals and amphibians pupil dialation is an autonomic response. unless adobe can alter your genome too...

@notforclimbing12 u cant control autonomics, but u can learn things/do things which do affect autonomic input, so it becomes an indirect control.. its not unusual.
541R0 1 year ago
@notforclimbing12 And? If you read the description (regardless of the biological inaccuracies) you can tell that he is describing dilating his pupils by using his thoughts or emotions to trigger the autonomic nervous response of pupil dilation. You can't actively control your heartbeat, it's an autonomic process. However, stop and close your eyes and imagine yourself in a physical fight with someone you wouldn't mind giving a black eye or two. You just voluntarily sped up your heart rate.
z3bigmonst3r 9 months ago
@notforclimbing12 people have been studied that can control some of their autonomic responses. A monk dude was recorded increasing his heart rate to 300 beats per minute for a short time. Thinking hard about something intense can trigger the release of any number of chemicals from dopamine or cortisol to adrenaline.
Though it might still be fake.

Lawl anyone can do this if they press on their carotid artery because the nerve that controls pupil dilation runs along it!
Not recommended for long periods of time unless you want to pass out on the ground!

You've figured out how to dilate your pupils at will? There's this thing I can do to make my vision kinda blurry- do they dilate when I do this? Can I train myself to dilate my pupils?

@1h34rtmus1c its just because your eyes are out of focus, everybody can do that

I think your level of stupidity is a "physiological anomaly" ... Your adrenaline explanation was a laugh out loud experience for me. Just watch the other pupil dilation videos on youtube to get your answer to why MANY can do what you Barely did.
Stallion769 1 year ago
@Stallion769 Why? The pupillary dilator muscles in your eyes are wired by sympathetic nerves (Fight or flight response). If you make yourself feel scared or angry or wtv your pupils should dilate.
brianng999 1 year ago
i can do that. :)
rocketshiptothemoon1 1 year ago
I can do it too.. Usually happens when i focus on something close or far away..Ive practiced it over time to the point i can focus my eyes at different distances without anything being there..Dunno if my eyes dilating at that is just part or it or not..I could record it and upload it perhaps?

i used to scare the crap out of my parents by doing this
thixotropicmusic 1 year ago
Thats pretty cool, i just tried to do that. 'tried' being the dominant word there. I have very reactive eyes, by this i mean.. if i've had a few pints, i look like i'm on pills. The same applies to a higher extent, if i'm on pills, i look like i'm in space. Much more so than others too. I was wondering if anyone had any information relating to why this is? I always thought that our pupils changed depending on the light, i have extremely good eyesight in dark conditions and wear contacts.
Jjoohnyy 1 year ago
shit thts amazing!!
jonnyBB3B 1 year ago
actually its quite easy, just imagine focusing on a fake object right in front of your face, your pupils will accommodate to focus in on this fake thing you are visualizing, you can also make them contract by trying to stare through your mirror, imaging you are focusing on something 10 ft behind the mirror and your pupils will contract
MrSgrobot 1 year ago
so is it true if a guy likes u::there pupils start to dilation??? i know this sounds stupid and corny but just was wondering...
Rochell0 1 year ago
@Rochell0 Yes dialated pupils can sometims signify a friendly feeling, infatuation, or attraction. So it is possible that he likes you, but if he has dark eyes his pupils may just look large
RedAxle 1 year ago
@Rochell0 Not sure how old you are, but if you are at a club or something when you notice his eyes are dialted it may just because alcohol intake becuase alcohol as well as other drugs can make your eye dialate.
RedAxle 1 year ago
holyshit! i have always been able to make myself like feel a rush by thinking soo, like adrenaline rush and after i saw ur video i went ahead and did it infront of a mirror and mi pupils did dialate.....just like urs XD
LordViltor 1 year ago
I know this is not fake because I also can dilate my pupils voluntarily. I just discovered this recently. It's strange I don't have to think anything I can just do it. Its cool to know other can do this as well...I wonder why some people can and others can't?
shanfran144 1 year ago
I've been trying to learn to dilate my pupils because I've heard it's more attractive than regular pupils.

Iv'e been able to do this for years without knowing, I use it to get pumped up during heavy lifting and it actually helps me lift.
areallylongassname2 1 year ago
I can also voluntarily release adrenalin but I never noticed it made my pupils bigger as well. I've been able to do this since I was a little kid but never could describe it to anyone well enough that they knew what I was talking about. I can speed up my heart rate and then deliberately slow it back down again as well. This is the first time I've ever found anything online about it. Have you always been able to do this? Do you think it has any merit when it comes to meditating?
katberkery 1 year ago

Applepipe419 1 year ago
i can do this...dialate my pupils at will. Your description of adrenalin rush is apt. I feel strange when I do it.
mj011n1r 1 year ago
This is probably nothing more than a response of your sympathetic nervous system, which releases adrenaline causing dilated pupils.
