It's a Mistwalker game. It NEEDS to come over. NOA's lack of enthusiasm in bringing this game over is troubling to core gamers such as myself. It's not giving us much faith in future Nintendo consoles. If such a high profile game as this one can't be bothered to be brought over, it's pretty apparent what that says about the entire rpg genre and Nintendo. I've been supporting Nintendo products for a long time now but, at this point, it doesn't look like that will be continuing.
if you want to do something for this game to release worldwide theres a petition on the internet GOOGLE THE LAST STORY PETITION and sign if you want the game in your country. the petition has reached 12.000+ signatures by now lets show nintendo that we want it if it reaches 1.000.000 signatures its a sure thing..i just signed it today
I hope this isn't true because Nintendo needs titles badly for 2011 and this would be an excellent title to have in the Wii lineup for this year I just don't see why Nintendo doesn't bring these types of games from Japan (Xenoblade being the other example of an rpg they haven't brought over yet).
Im really hoping this gets a US release, Ive watched the recent presentation Nintendo gave of this game that was 1 hour long, and the game looked really impressive. The battle sytem mechanics look really polished, the boss battles look expecially good, the cutscenes are great and not to intrusive, also obviously the graphics are awesome! "The Last Story" is simple and not exactly top-notch creativity but at least it's a title that actually makes sense. As long as the title isn't "Daddy Llama" or "Poo-Poo Head", I'm not going to cry about it.
I LOVE Mistwalker. Lost Oddysey is one of the best RPG's of the last decade, and half of you assholes didn't buy it! :( I don't have a Wii, and even I'm thinking of buying this game just to own another Mistwalker product. Support Sakaguchi! Support good games!
Ohh, I so hope this game manages to troll the shit out of FF13. I don´t know how, I don´t really care how, but Mistwalker deserves the success. They´ve done so well on their previous games. Lost Odyssey feeling so old-school, yet fresh was quite the experience and Blue Dragon at least a really decent adaptation.
Dear god, I hope for a localization. It reminds me a bit of Resonance of Fate, but mostly its own stuff. Show Europe some RPG love, please? (Also, Action-RPG <3)

@CrazyCircles1 The graphics are actually pretty good by Wii standards. Besides, graphics are obviously not where one's focus should be. In my opinion, The fact that it's being directed by Hironobu Sakaguchi is reason enough to check this out.

@CrazyCircles1 For a 3D game on wii I think they're really good :S and there's a little bit of valkyrie profile(mostly covenant of the plume) in the character design that I find nice too.
@TheRealYoungNasa You're kinda hard on final fantasy XIII yes it's linear till chapter 11 and there are a lot a flaws(I totally hated the weapon and accessory system... I never upgraded an item once and still played through all 64 missions) but it's still a game.

Arc Rise Fantasia was pretty good, not the second coming of christ... but a good RPG for fans of the genre(I don't believe in such a thing as JRPG.. Since when is an rpg not japanese?.. When it sucks?)... anyway The Last Story and Xenoblade WILL be Wii exclusives...though they are both developed by Mistwalker...they are Published by Nintendo... I'm desperate for these games... I hope these and Tales of Graces would find their way to North America
rpg fans are really hanging out for a game like this, one with personality and old school charm. Aside from lost odyssey, there hasn't been anything like it in maybe 10 years. Why oh why is it a wii exculsive...
@gouki2005 I disagree, I bought Arc Rise Fantasia not too long ago, and I'm enjoying it a lot despite the bad voice acting. Baten Kaitos on the Gamecube had poor voice acting as well, and that was still a great game.
I love the 2:17 scene. Looks like THIS will become a epic-deep-nostalgic scene at the videogame history.
jarkad123. Mistwalker don't make any ps3 or psp videogame 'cuz Sakaguchi and Uematsu were dumped by Square-Enix. And it's true about the lame Wii's catalog, but it's better and better now (MH3, SMG2 New Super Mario Wii, Metroid AM, Xenoblade, the Golden Eye Remake). And now, with PS3 Move, PS3 will be full of casual gamers (full of Ubshit games like Imagine be... or BratZ).
Too bad mistwalked didnt make these great rpgs for the ps3 . Lost oddysey , this , blue dragon , and even tales didnt make it too ps3 in europe and us . IM so sad the legendary name of the ps2 console as a hardcore console for rpg or action adventure games that left history is now a casual wannabe of wii , with little good games to count , and many lame FPS .

Hey, the Wii user's deserves excelent games. I think this is how the j-RPG should be not the "another" saga how begin with "Final" and ends with "Fantasy #" When S-E trow away Sakaguchi & Uematsu FUCK OFF the FF saga and all the S-E games.
Plus, we wait Xenoblade. Two of the best j-RPG only on Wii. I'm very exciting.
This is a good looking game. Why don't you people see that? It doesn't have HD graphics, but can't you appreciate good graphics on the Wii? I don't rag on PS360 games cause I don't have those consoles. I'm gonna get a 360 and PS3 when I have money. I really want to get games like Uncharted 2 and Splinter Cell: Conviction. Don't rag on Wii games. There are plenty of good Wii games.

The game still needs to be advertised. It could be a great game, but without sales Sakaguchi and his team would be done for. Nintendo needs to try hard to get this game its sales.
@TheBigDumpling no, they don't. I've seen FAR prettier Wii games. And no, don't make that assumption, I JUST played a game with sprites. I'm just saying that the graphics in this game are really subpar. Don't make assumptions on the internet because they're 99% of the time completely wrong and stupid.
likewise, don't judge a game's graphical qualities by watching a low-res trailer on Youtube. People were doing the same to Goldeneye after the trailer was released, even though people who played the game were very positive. And seeing as Last Story is being published by Nintendo, they're probably going to force the developers to squeeze every last drop from the system
@TheBigDumpling it would help if they used CG cutscenes for this..... it's ironic that Mistwalker used a TON of CG cutscenes for their graphically superior games on the 360, and yet for this I'm guessing that they're not gonna use any CG cutscenes

@ajaxthegreatful Yep people are hypocrites they say wii doesn't have good games which is wrong and now its gets more good games and people are complaing that those good games aren't on the 360 and ps 3. I am getting a ps 3 in the future after th 3ds and after the rest of the good wii games so I can enjoy more games on 2 consoles.
We still have more hard ass games than you guys will ever had as kiddy games since Nintendo was in the 1980s.
Plus I doubt Hironobu Sakaguchi will only make this a Wii-only game since Mistwalker's being backed up by Microsoft. Meaning, there's a HIGH chance for it to be released in Xbox 360. Also Sakaguchi is the creator of the FF series, and up until now he still backs Square a few times or so, so there's also a chance in PS3, since Sqaure made it's debut in PSX.
@URZeroGravity Not to sound rude, but Nintendo is going to publish this game meaning they own the series. And everyone knows Nintendo will never publish for the other 2 consoles. Other wise if that's what Mistwalker wants, then Nintendo would just give up publishing it. All the consoles are great in their own way, and I know what games are out for them, I play them everytime I go to a friend's house, and I enjoy playing great games like Halo, or COD, and gears of war and stuff for the other two consoles. They aren't bad at all, but wii, now, in itself, is starting shine even more, with so many great games coming out! :D

That is WRONG. Square didn't make their debut on PSX. You can find Square titles on the NES, SNES and even the GB. Secret of Mana, Chrono Trigger, FF1 through FF6, Romancing Saga... all that and more before PSX was even on the market.

Surely you don't think that just because Sakaguchi used to be with Square and now that his company is making The Last Story, that due to past affiliation that would lead to to the conclusion that the game has a chance to appear on PS3, do you?
@svalink I thought that he said that he was working on this game as if it were his last game, hence the name "The Last Story". If this really is final game, then that is really saddening...
@URZeroGravity It's not coming out on any system other than Wii. It's an exclusive title. Also, I grew up playing Nintendo (and Sega, of course) and I LOVE me some kiddy games. You know, like Zelda, Metroid, Donkey Kong, Mega Man--all that stuff people who have XBOX 360 and PS3 are too grown up to play.

yeah you love it so much you download the game instead of buying it. People that uses emulator will most likely never buy games for that console, just like people that mods the consoles.

@WarRock97 Dude! That would be awesome! And we all know that The Last Story 7 will be the pinnacle of the series and 8 will be a love story with a controversial mechanic (maybe call it Junction?). Too bad a lot of people aren't gonna like The Last Story 13. It'll probably be because Sakaguchi left Mistwalker in 2016.
This is looking great! People who say the title is like Final Fantasy are idiots because this is BEING MADE by the father of the series. The gameplay seems really intricate and I'm really looking forward to see how it plays out. I'd love to learn more about the story though. The graphics are pretty impressive, but the art atyle seems to be suffering from the "Modern Day Shooter Style", where there isn't much color in the game aside from a few areas. Also, the music sounds great.
@FF7ACJW I never said that. I never said "durr this game sucks because the graphics suck." I just said everyone's making it sound like this game has incredible graphics when it really has the graphics that a 360 launch title has.
@SnaffleJBean True, I did blow it a bit out of proportion, but to the Wii's defense, there have been a few games that have managed to squeeze near-HD graphics out of the little white box.

I'm definitely going to buy this game! Is it going to be localized in North America. The graphics for the game are superb! This is a prime example of how I wanted the new Zelda to look. Looks like the wii has getting more jrpgs than the ps3 lately, with Tales of Graces, Dragon Quest X, The Last Story, and Xenoblade. I'd include Arc Rise Fantasia, but I heard that game sucks.
@holyshtwtf12 True, true. I was thinking along the lines of both Wii and DS were Nintendo, but I really think Nintendo wants this to be their groundbreaking RPG for the system. (Like XBox wanted with Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey). Honestly, I wasn't even sure if Nintendo was even helping with this title other than releasing it on the system. Yay!!! I'm so happy!!! I've been SO pumped about this game for SO LONG now!!! I swear they had better bring this game over to America, and it better have the option to turn the voices in Japanese. I highly doubt they will spend very much money for English voice actors, which means the dubbing will suck beyond sucking. WHY DIDN'T NINTENDO BRING OVER ASH Archaic Sealed Heat?!? That looked like a REALLY good game!!! That's why I'm a little scared about them bringing Last Story over...
@dilandauomi Maybe this will be different since I think it will be co-developed by Nintendo also (aside from being just the publisher)? I'm not sure if ASH was developed solely by Mistwalker.

It's definitely RPG style. I think the battling is going to be more updated rather than simple turn-based though. Regardless, either way would be fine with me. There's still a battle system though, it's obviously not like Devil May Cry. You have to target the opponent and select what you want to do (Attack/Magic/Item) Like I said it's just not turn-based and fixed, you move around. At least it's not moving along stupid square panels lol
its funny how wii games are geting better and 360 and ps3 games are getting wores, wii grafics are becoming better and 360 and ps3 are losing it and loock bad now nintendo care for the hared core gamer again. :)

Arc Rise Fantasia was pretty good, not the second coming of christ... but a good RPG for fans of the genre(I don't believe in such a thing as JRPG.. Since when is an rpg not japanese?.. When it sucks?)... anyway The Last Story and Xenoblade WILL be Wii exclusives...though they are both developed by Mistwalker...they are Published by Nintendo... I'm desperate for these games... I hope these and Tales of Graces would find their way to North America

@gouki2005 I disagree, I bought Arc Rise Fantasia not too long ago, and I'm enjoying it a lot despite the bad voice acting. Baten Kaitos on the Gamecube had poor voice acting as well, and that was still a great game.

jarkad123. Mistwalker don't make any ps3 or psp videogame 'cuz Sakaguchi and Uematsu were dumped by Square-Enix. And it's true about the lame Wii's catalog, but it's better and better now (MH3, SMG2 New Super Mario Wii, Metroid AM, Xenoblade, the Golden Eye Remake). And now, with PS3 Move, PS3 will be full of casual gamers (full of Ubshit games like Imagine be... or BratZ).

Too bad mistwalked didnt make these great rpgs for the ps3 . Lost oddysey , this , blue dragon , and even tales didnt make it too ps3 in europe and us . IM so sad the legendary name of the ps2 console as a hardcore console for rpg or action adventure games that left history is now a casual wannabe of wii , with little good games to count , and many lame FPS .

Hey, the Wii user's deserves excelent games. I think this is how the j-RPG should be not the "another" saga how begin with "Final" and ends with "Fantasy #" When S-E trow away Sakaguchi & Uematsu FUCK OFF the FF saga and all the S-E games.
Plus, we wait Xenoblade. Two of the best j-RPG only on Wii. I'm very exciting.

This is a good looking game. Why don't you people see that? It doesn't have HD graphics, but can't you appreciate good graphics on the Wii? I don't rag on PS360 games cause I don't have those consoles. I'm gonna get a 360 and PS3 when I have money. I really want to get games like Uncharted 2 and Splinter Cell: Conviction. Don't rag on Wii games. There are plenty of good Wii games.

likewise, don't judge a game's graphical qualities by watching a low-res trailer on Youtube. People were doing the same to Goldeneye after the trailer was released, even though people who played the game were very positive. And seeing as Last Story is being published by Nintendo, they're probably going to force the developers to squeeze every last drop from the system

We still have more hard ass games than you guys will ever had as kiddy games since Nintendo was in the 1980s.
Plus I doubt Hironobu Sakaguchi will only make this a Wii-only game since Mistwalker's being backed up by Microsoft. Meaning, there's a HIGH chance for it to be released in Xbox 360. Also Sakaguchi is the creator of the FF series, and up until now he still backs Square a few times or so, so there's also a chance in PS3, since Sqaure made it's debut in PSX.

Other wise if that's what Mistwalker wants, then Nintendo would just give up publishing it. All the consoles are great in their own way, and I know what games are out for them, I play them everytime I go to a friend's house, and I enjoy playing great games like Halo, or COD, and gears of war and stuff for the other two consoles. That is WRONG. Square didn't make their debut on PSX. You can find Square titles on the NES, SNES and even the GB. Secret of Mana, Chrono Trigger, FF1 through FF6, Romancing Saga... all that and more before PSX was even on the market.

This is looking great! People who say the title is like Final Fantasy are idiots because this is BEING MADE by the father of the series. The gameplay seems really intricate and I'm really looking forward to see how it plays out. I'd love to learn more about the story though. The graphics are pretty impressive, but the art atyle seems to be suffering from the "Modern Day Shooter Style", where there isn't much color in the game aside from a few areas. Also, the music sounds great.

I'm definitely going to buy this game! Is it going to be localized in North America. The graphics for the game are superb! This is a prime example of how I wanted the new Zelda to look. Looks like the wii has getting more jrpgs than the ps3 lately, with Tales of Graces, Dragon Quest X, The Last Story, and Xenoblade. I'd include Arc Rise Fantasia, but I heard that game sucks.

(Like XBox wanted with Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey). Honestly, I wasn't even sure if Nintendo was even helping with this title other than releasing it on the system. Yay!!! I'm so happy!!! I've been SO pumped about this game for SO LONG now!!! I swear they had better bring this game over to America, and it better have the option to turn the voices in Japanese. I highly doubt they will spend very much money for English voice actors, which means the dubbing will suck beyond sucking. WHY DIDN'T NINTENDO BRING OVER ASH Archaic Sealed Heat?!? That looked like a REALLY good game!!! That's why I'm a little scared about them bringing Last Story over...

It's definitely RPG style. I think the battling is going to be more updated rather than simple turn-based though. Regardless, either way would be fine with me. There's still a battle system though, it's obviously not like Devil May Cry. You have to target the opponent and select what you want to do (Attack/Magic/Item) Like I said it's just not turn-based and fixed, you move around. At least it's not moving along stupid square panels lol
