I have a desktop in which sata controller went bad so cant use it at all Done all the testing and troubleshooting and were sure its the case ..Perhaps the caps looked bad So is network booting the best option? is it reliable and still pretty responsive? ....Noob questions im sure Thanks for any advice that any one can help with prefer win 7
@rivkinnator On the the server I used a Debian Linux (Squeeze) + iSCSITarget package, on the client (running the Windows) I used a plain MS Windows 7 Home installer disc. You might experience a delay (about a minute) until the installer searches for SAN targets. (Although I've debugged and the server answered the first query, but it seems the installer kept trying to find other devices.)
