  • Wow, that fast, while doing crescendos all the way through!!!!

  • Good job kid!

  • Nice playing, nice sound except...

For some reason I kept seeing the video running about 2s behind the audio? The music ended and there is still hand movements? Looks like a recording glitch...

  • CHECK MINe

  • OMG tHAT IS AWESOME!

  • Fantastic! Congratulations to the little pianist and to his teacher! Wonderful.

  • And your Seven!!! OMG! Ok...I get scared when I preform..my hands get all sweaty and I slip :P But, I still do fine....your good :)

  • I find this quite sad, in the fact that yes, it's technically precise, but it lacks emotion and real soul. There aren't enough places for the piece to breathe, which is important with Bach. It shouldn't be so robotic.

  • @XDjulietXD yea it didnt make my day either -.- im white and i hate when u look up songs u see these little asian kids doing these songs like perfectly.. im 14 and on level 8 of CM

  • I'm 13. I looked on youtube for this since i am playing this piece. i was not expecting a 7 year old to play this!! this really didnt make my day, but this little kid is amazing!!

  • look at second 59. Left hand is not where it should be with the melody you hear. It is still down doing the articulated notes... it should be up with the right hand doing the 16th notes. ...

  • how do you even play like that! even with 3 months practice i could not play it like that! and i play the flute so it's probably easier for me!

  • I can not play it as fast as him!:o

  • amazing wow boy you rock

  • uhmm is that even him playing? at the end, his fingers are still rattling away but the music has stopped?? fantastic playing, whoever it was :)

  • holy shit.... this is fucking amazing

  • very nice, but is the pedal used? and is it supposed to be played that fast?

  • yahh i might uplaod this soon aint played in ages

  • Yea! Great job. A little fast, though, if you ask me...

  • What do u mean its two fast ur surpose to play it fast some people polay it even faster

  • @sskeyblade Don't get me wrong, it's just a personal preference. It wouldn't matter what tempo he played it at, it would still be just as marvelous. :)

  • Really good job! Others may complain about the dynamics, but it really just depends on the pianist. I think yours are perfect!

    Nice job!

  • very weel dynamics!! u obviously deserve the first place

  • OMG!! A kid beat me! SUch talented cuties ^^

  • GREAT but slow down a bit. MORE DYNAMICS! And less pedal; there was no pedal in Bach's time. Hope you improve, but 1st place is well-deserved :)

  • i hate it

  • You play this very well. And the 1st prize is well deserved. Five stars for you and your bright future.

  • i prefer this piece at this tempo, its so better

  • ...and on that note, there were no tempo markings either. They vary greatly depending on the performer.

  • Originally, Bach did not put dynamics with these inventions. They were all added by editors, thus the reason they differ so much depending upon which version that you play out of.

  • Learnt this for an exam ages ago and hated it to death... so did my housemates. they were more gld than me that i passed it.

  • that was fantastic!

  • this is way too fast. i'm 14 and i play it. got my exam in 3 weeks ahhh!

  • Wow, this is one page! So short! But very hyper song! =)

  • wow this was great? are you supposed to use the pedal when playing this though?

  • No, you're not. piano pedals werent invented in bach's time. they came with the classical and romantic composers

  • Hmm that's pretty fast... just a shame he got of the dynamics wrong. And before you all get annoyed with me and say well i bet you can't play it, yes i can, and yes he is awesome for a seven year old, but I'm just saying he got the dynamics of the piece wrong.

  • Dynamics in keyboard music of the Baroque era really did not consist of much, but soft and loud. That's why many people interpret Bach differently. Just saying!

  • Fantastic! I wish I could play it that fast!

  • O.O grrr!!! im learning this now and i cant even play that fast!! im so jealous! awesome kid

  • Great, considerate and disciplined

  • omg i'm learning this song and he is SO GOOD! IT'S INSPIRATIONAL!!!

  • wow thi i a great for a 7 year old.

  • That was great for a concert pianist--for a 7 year old that was unbelievable! Way to go Scottie.

  • Good. God.

  • ...prodigy.

  • On the way to greatness. Bravo.

  • 5 stars for sure. Great performance.

  • Played really will and he is not even 8. Well Done!

  • You all say that it is too fast, but it does help him to change the feel and dynamics of the piece. Maybe a little bit slower and a bit more variation to really make it pop out, but I don't think it is bad.

  • A bit fast for Bach, I think, but good.

Why is his foot on the pedal?

  • i want to know too!

  • wow...can't blieve it...

a 7 yr old child can ply so gud...

  • I'm 12 and I'm learning this. And right now, I'm crying a little bit.

  • sick, want to know what im sick of? You!

  • cav0129, Your sophomoric response making reference to other races was really immature. Also you can play no better than this talented kid. I saw you profile and the pieces you played.

  • o.m.g

    sooo good

  • BEAST!!!!!!!

  • You have amazing dynamic changes! This is probably the only one of the Invention No. 8 videos with good dynamic changes! Very nicely done! The first place was very much deserved!

  • @nanshee7 Reason why no one plays it with dynamic changes is because Bach played on a harpsichord. There were no dynamic variations on a harsichord, only by adding more notes or subtracting could you alter the "volume". Many are taught to play Bach without much dynamic change or much interpretation, its already in the music.

  • LOVE THE DYNAMICS! They really make the piece.

  • S.J. Bach, indeed..lovely, though

  • "Take a music bath once or twice a week for a few seasons, and you will find that it is to the soul what the water bath is to the body."

  • That's far too fast, it needs to be played at around half that speed

  • He's playing it at the perfect speed (144 BPM). I used a metronome.

  • I agree, its a bit too rushed

  • LOVE IT! could be a little slower. Nice ending!

  • Excellent!

  • DAAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN *dies*

  • Maybe I'm wrong, But the sound and the video didn't mach with me...

    Good job after all.!

  • You had a wonderful performance! 5 stars from me!

  • This little guy really has a talent!

  • AMAZING

  • Thankyou so much for putting things like this on Youtube. A Pianist

  • I haven't started learning this song yet, and I'm 14 lol. NICE JOB!!

  • Very nice! I guess you got low rating from others because the audio/video are not in sync (and the recording's not good). But the playing itself was very clean with lots of details. Five stars!

  • One of the best two part invention n. 8 on youtube !

    bravo !

  • Good job! Congratulations on your 1st place finish! 5 stars from me! I put you on my 'Amazing Young Pianists' playlist. 5 stars!
