  • Thanks phill for your videos and advice, I just bought one for my canon cameras.

  • Thank you so much for your videos.

  • @dpazdpaz - You are welcome! Glad to be of service.

  • Thank you so much Mr. Steele for putting this video, this is exactly what I was looking for. Keep up the good work.

  • How about 580EX vs 580EX II? Their is very little detailed info on the differences and what they really mean.

  • If I recall you just have to hold the zoom button for 2 seconds to place the 430exII in slave mode. Is this really that much harder?

  • I prefer the old fashion flash back in the old days when everytime you flash, it explodes!

  • Is it possible to leave the light on for night time video recording? Let's say like at a bar or a club? I'm fairly new to this so bare with me.

  • @itzJoePeezy no, buy an LED lamp from ebay..

  • @itzJoePeezy - Now it is. Canon just released a new 320EX flash with a built-in continuous LED light for video recording. It doesn't use the main flash tube, just a small extra LED that is embedded in the body of the flash. I hope to do a full review of this new flash soon.

  • God I feel old with my 20D and 420EX LOL

  • Can you put these on a Canon t2i? Sorry, I'm new with cameras lol. <3

  • @shweetify yes both of these flashes are compatable with the canon t2i

  • What would I do if a battery leaked in my speedlite they were brand new? Is Speedlite done or can I fix it?

  • hey nice review! Which is a better single strobe for off camera shooting? 580 exII or 430 exII? will the 430 exII enough?

  • @blackrmc - The 430EX and 430EX II are both perfect for off-camera use. You can use the more expensive 580EX of course, but frankly you're wasting money to do that. The 430EX II also puts out less radio frequency noise, so it's a better rAll around great flash for off-camera lighting.

  • thanks..your video helped a lot

  • awesome thxs

  • @flkpr - Yes, on the Canon 7D you can disable the built-in flash as a light source while still using it as a Master to control remote flashes. It will still put out flashes of light to control the slaves, but they are not affecting the exposure of your shot.

  • y do they use the word slave for the setting instead of manual >;<

  • @dancrboi7 dude cause its a master/slave relationship. it's not something racist hahahaha

  • can the 430EX II swivel 180° (for example; to shoot over the shoulder)?

    thanks

  • Big help! This is a great review! Hope you have 430exii vs 580exii

  • I bought thei Canon 430EX 11 and it doesn't work. Very disappointed. .

  • help full! :)

  • Does the 430ex have a built in wireless receiver?

    Thanks.

  • @livinglifeisfun - Yes, both the 430EX and 430EX II have the built-in wireles slave function.

  • A+ video

  • can both model be wireless with 7d?

  • @patwikwin Yes, both can be used as slaves in a wireless setup with 7D.

  • thanks

  • Great and useful video, keep it up!
