it is a chevy motor... you know how to tell? A Ford has the 4 exhaust pots equally spread apart, and on a Mopar the exhaust potrs angle down slightly... Thats how you know the difference. And it is either a 410ci or 360ci... I woulod think by the way it runs and sounds it is a 410...
Yep, one can tell by the pairing together of the center tubes. The Dodge small blocks are the same way but 1.) you can distinguish the head castings and header bolts. 2.) there aren't many Dodges in sprint cars. 3.) The Dodges sound a little different. If it was a Dodge, they would be advertising it big time. It seems like 98% are Chevy engines anyway. Ford engines have equal spacing between the 4 exhaust ports on each side and will sound different.
wow man really? you're that good at figuring out what motor it is by looking at just the headers? can you teach me??!?!?!?! lol you have got to be kidding me buddy.
@marshallvalvestate no, he's right... the Chevy LT engines and Mopar A engines run the 2 center exhaust ports siamesed and the front and back are by themselves. In a Ford, Chevy LS or the new Mopar V8 racing engines, they are equally spaced. Since 99 + % of all sprint car engines are Chevy's... he's 99+% correct. This is likely a 360 engine and not a 410... it simply doesn't sound pissed off enough to be a 410.. I really am THAT good, even if the other guy isn't.
410's have bigger header tubes.

By equally spaced he means the heads are stagger port.
