No offense to the SFD. But volunteer FF's have such a delayed response compared to Professional Fire Dept's. In any case the City FD's should be dispatched regardless and then called off if the VFD is on scene and under control..
@frednewschaser I tend to agree and disagree at the same time. I know what your saying for response, but you take in this area, from Moncton to Saint John, there are not full time career depts in between. I know with us we are out of the hall with in 5 minutes of a call. For this call in particular, it was a city depts area and they were dispatched shortly after the volunteer dept. I think we got there pretty quick given the circumstances and the distance.
I'm not really sure what's up with PSAP... we keep getting calls in their area (Moncton) and they keep getting calls in our area (salisbury) But on our side, as soon as we know that we are in their area, we call them to give them a heads up.
@trainboy1979 its the stupid computer system they use to dispatch the calls out , I was a dispatcher for many years, you can't rely on a computer , you have to know the area and make decisions yourself. See this all the time firetrucks coming from further away then they should be ??? They will wait until someone dies in a fire before they change the system.
hey at least that truck wasnt carrying explosives .................then ud be screwed
