  • Soon to be Met for Beltran.....you fools are stupid if you do that trade

  • Brown is still very raw, and heyward isn't, despite brown being TWO years older? How does that logic work?

Brown in parts of 2 seasons has yet to get is avg over .230 whereas heyward, in 4 times the AB's has hit .262

Brown is a hacker. He is very undisciplined and has little knowledge of the strike zone. A sub .300 obp is never acceptable, which is what brown has in 218 PA

  • @jostopholees A hacker? He has 23 walks compared to 29 Ks. Compare to Heyward's 31 BB/56 K and you say Brown has no plate discipline? Also his OBP is now .339.

  • @hembull04 Funny, I see brown as having 28 bb to 53 k's for a nearly 1/2 bb ratio.

What is the argument for brown being better, again?

  • @jostopholees 2011 stats. Also I didn't say Brown was better. I said to call him undisciplined is idiotic, his patience one of the things he has been complimented on. He sees more pitches per plate appearance than Heyward. Clearly you don't watch him play.

  • @hembull04 What part of a 2 to 1 k to bb ratio is confusing to you?

  • @jostopholees I'm going to go out on a limb and say that his 2011 numbers, in which he has gotten regular at bats as a starter, are more representative of his talent than 2010 when he was called up late in the year and played sporadically as a pinch hitter. He struggled in 2010 but has clearly made a vast improvement this year - you're apparently too dense to see that and you definitely aren't watching him play.

  • @hembull04 I'm going to go out on a limb and say that his career numbers are more indicative of his ability rather than some small sample size.

Let me know when he is able to get his avg above .250

  • @jostopholees So his 186 plate appearances in 2011 are some small sample size, but his 256 career plate appearances are plenty to judge by? I get it, you're a Brown hater, but at least know what you're talking about and criticize something that he actually struggles with, rather than making asinine statements like "he's a hacker."

  • @hembull04 So 186 plate appearances is a better indication of a player than 256? I mean I get it, you're philly fan and no one expects any knowledge of the game from your kind, but that's no reason to resort to idiocy in defending your precious. Brown, prior to your precious 186 plate appearances this year has been a hacker. 1960 pro PA with a 1.7 K to BB ratio, but yeah, a quarter of a season is a better judge.

Try to know what you are talking about if you are going to respond in the future

  • @jostopholees Yeah kind of like Utley who had a near 2.0 K/BB ratio in his first 1900+ pro PAs? Real hacker there, boy he just has no discipline. Obviously he can improve (as most 23 year olds can), but a hacker? Please. Also FYI, playing the "philly fan so you know nothing" card really doesn't strengthen your argument.

  • @hembull04 Ahh, the resorting to comparing what one player who has been firmly established to someone else argument. Sure sign of someone with NO argument.

Also, FYI, attempting to discredit the "philly fan so you know nothing" argument while at the same time showing you know nothing doesn't strengthen your already non-existent argument.

  • @jostopholees Ok bro, I’m just going to agree to disagree. This is clearly going nowhere. Heyward is a stud, and is the better player right now, but Brown has all the tools to be great in time, including his discipline at the plate. I’m happy to have him on the Phils, and Braves fans should be happy to have Heyward. I'm leaving it at that.

  • You mean like brown was the first TWO months of the season?

    OOPS!!!!

  • I was there and I was literally telling one of my dad's friends that he had one of the cleanest swings in baseball and it's also one of the quickest. I didn't even finish the sentence and BOOM

  • he's no Jason Heyward.....

  • @jostopholees yeah riding the bench "injured"

  • @jostopholees yeah and heyward is no buster posey

  • @TheCoupe15 I know, heyward is playing, lol!!

  • @jostopholees haha yupp

  • @jostopholees Dom Brown will have a better career than heyward, bank it

  • @TheLidgeEffect There is absolutely nothing about brown's game that suggests that.

  • @jostopholees well for starters Brown has a higher average than Heyward right now, and Heyward was supposebly a "Man Child", while Brown is still very raw, im not saying heyward wont be a very solid major leaguer, but brown is going to be a star, ,and he has potential to be a plus defender/base runner as well

  • that was a fucking bomb

  • can't wait for him to be the full time starter

  • it was 494

  • i was there,,, that thing was further than 440 i know they said it was but look where it landed that was the furthest hr i had ever seen by far

  • @splanitproductions 441. go to hit tracker and look it up

  • i was therrr

  • yeah... he needs to get his bat back and down... he's cocked in a natural hitting position when the ball is at the release point. he has a picture perfect swing.

  • such a monster hit
