The Lady was truly blessed with the Gift of voice from God. I am so glad I did get to talk to her often on the phone, never had the pleasure to meet her in person, but on the phone she was just great, even to take the time out to talk to my boys, they were at that time 6 and 4, now 33 and 36. They the Harmonetts and Ms. Love Coates, will always remain in my heart, and they will always be the greatest to me. Sister D

The great Dorothy Love Coates did tear it up on this song--and pretty much everything else she did. I spoke to her once on the phone. She was very warm and gracious, taking time to talk to a guy out of Seattle who called her up out of the blue.
This singing is amazing. It fuses nicely with the funky/bluesy bass line yet the message is not diluted. The arrangement is real rock and roll/R&B yet the message is pure gospel!!
Go DOT go! Please young gospel singers - listen to this music. It will take an adjustment in that you won't hear the best technical engineering, the greatest bands, or even the most beautiful voices. But there is something in this group that is worth MINING out. It is an artist who sang with every fiber of her being. I have spent my entire life in Gospel Music, and there is none like Dorothy. But whenever I want that flavor, there is a pastor in Greenville, SC (Katie Jordan) who is her Elisha.
