  • trying to figure out how to get scenes like in the music video Take On Me- AHA

if you know please send me a link

  • How long did it take you to do this. i really like the effect.

  • trippy. you copy and pasted too many things between the frames (or used intrapolating) so it just looks like a cheap auto animate in flash rather than real rotoscoping

  • i think it's all really good, but I think you used the intrapolating rotoscoping a bit too much and it looks like your mouth and eyes move differently to your face. 5 stars

  • great.....i really like this atmosphere

  • THe videos I post here are often tests for projects I am working on. I made this while learning how to use rotoscoping programs. So, this is just a snippet I'd like to hope that the complete animation would have some meaning. =).

  • Great job. I dunno how it can be stupid.

  • can someone tell me please how you color in rotoscoping? I only know how to get the trace affect but I see that people actual have coloured their work and don't have a clue how? I mean if i coloured each frame as a traced wouldn't the colours all be different to the next frame?please help someone I really need to know this. thanks you experts!

  • ELVIS!!! Are you lonesome is a pretty funny song. everyone check it out!!

  • You're totally right. I love the rap towards the end.

  • the camera is kinda shaking. this reminds me of some work by richard linklater. but i have a question:

at 0:55 - did you film this guy the house seperately?

  • It depends on how you're doing it. If its by a computer program such as photoshop the colors can stay consistent. If you are using flash or after effects then the program can assist you with the animation and color choice too. Also sometimes you do want the colors to change in order to reflect different light sources.

  • that was good.

  • 2d render effect!nice.....

  • that's not a render effect. It's a technique called rotoscoping, where you draw frame-by-frame over film.

  • just wonderful

  • great

  • great! can you tell me how you did it?

  • i like it. looks and sounds fantastic.

  • good animation, but it looks tweened - a little too tweened.

And why doesn't he have a mouth? lol =)

  • he does.

  • Yeah I like it, have a peep at my 'A Lawrence Darkly'(Test) and 'Final film trailer' final film trailer is hard core 25fps rotoscoped shit

  • Hey i need someone to help me out, i just descoverd rotoscoping and i'd really like some tips on how to do it. I have very limited resources.

  • I liked it, though it flowed really well for it being a typical rotoscope, i'm guessing you used keyframes rather than drawing each frame? Good work.

  • Very Waking Life / Scanner Darkly looking. Great job. This had a great look and feel.

If you get a chance take a look at my film I used a similar style in on here. It's called Pumpkin Knight.

  • you aint failed jumping camera looks good, anyone seen the film 'Waking Life'? this reminds me of that film what program did you use, just started gettin into rotoscoping stuff

  • what's up with jumping camera? it seems like you have done very little work on this one.

  • It's called a "test" for a reason.

  • I'm sorry I failed you. I'll try to get a trpiod when filming my animated characters.

  • This is seriously freaking me out. Amazing style dude!

  • hey man i really like that, what did you use to make it! ive been experimenting with rotoscoping for a while but im always looking for new ways
