Derek Jeter is The Man. I'm a Met fan and I'm envious that while we have some young superstars, we don't have organization staples like Jeter. He is the dictionary definition of Cool, Composed, and Talented. I don't think there's anyone in baseball who could have delivered a better speech. When I'm old, I can't wait to see this speech immortalized along side the Gehrig speech and others. Long Live the Yankee Empire. The one you love to hate or love.
Jose Molina hit the last hr at the stadium and Damon before that. HOW AWESOME would it have been if damon was the last one, who was actually on the team that broke the curse of the bambino who in fact was the firs to hit a hr in the stadium. you couldnt script that if it had happened. oh well. GO YANKS
Ludicrous - hell yea that was me screaming like maniac, I am uploading my video of Mariano's last entrance into Yankee Stadium combined with my singing along of Enter Sandman tonight, LOL
I liked how the last home run was hit by Jose Molina, Number 26. That was pretty amazing! Great speech by Jeet as well. As sad as it is to see the old girl go, I'm really excited about the new stadium. It looks like it's going to be a fantastic ballpark and a great combo of old and new!
This game brought tears to my eyes. Lots of memories watching the Yankees play at this stadium. I know the new one will bring more great memories as well. My blood runs blue for the Yanks!
i will never forget the house that ruth built!

Gehrig's speech was pure immortality. So was Ruth's 6/13/48 speech, with his voice barely above a hoarse whisper.
DJ's speech isn't quite up there with those two. But he came really, really close. Beautiful job.
