  • Hey dude ...get some more practice in private before you plonk it on you tube and make a cock~up...do the exact same stroke a hundred times until you don,t have to think about what you,r doing... BUT don,t give up man

  • Hello again everyone!! Thanks again for all the comments, good and bad, I love striping, so that's all that matters... I've got a few more pictures of my work, but all a matter of getting them into slideshows if I feel like posting them up... If u ever see a flat black Harley around the east longmeadow area.. W orange and silver striping all over, real classic, that's one of mine! :) Thanks again ! I have a couple Mac brushes and the rest are Kafka, I like them both, just gotta get a good feel

  • Pretty cool never quit ! Usually people talk shit when their jealous.

  • your brush looks... hmm... strange.

  • This oughta inspire other wannabe's!

Can't begin to tell you how many times I striped an old panel - wiped it off with reducer - and did it again when I was learning. It's obvious you've got good basic feel for design/layout and it's getting there, laying the paint on just right every line just takes practice, practice, PRACTICE. When you do it without thinking about what you're doing anymore - YOU'RE THERE!

HANG IN!! You're on the way!! DON'T give up because of the LOSERS cracks!

  • Good job! Only sugestion, get a stick like the ol sign writers for suport. I did my first striping jobs on dashboards before they started making them out of plastic and drag racing was a new sport. Don't listen to those who cast stones as a way of making themselves feel good.

  • OMFG.. Its so f...ing to judge everyone, when you sit behind a screen. I bet not half of you even know how to pull a straight line... Everyone started somewhere, and i dont remember seing anywhere that you needs to be pro-striper to upload vids on YT. And yeah, I AM a pinstriper...but i still remember the point where she´s at now,... But practice practice practice... No ones a born a striper! So PaintProtector, keep those brushes flying 24-7 ;o)

  • playing a clapton tune on a two-stringer would sound and look awesome. I enjoyed watching this, so did every wiseass who couldnt help themselves bully-dumping on the comments, thats just pebbles falling off a mountain. Get your fingers off the keyboard people, paint and post it if you need to show off!

  • Ok before someone lays down another You shouldn't be pinstriping on cars comment... Let me just make it known that this video is just a clip, a clip of a messup. one that doesn't happen EVERY single freakin time I stripe.. just happened to be while i was being filmed.. and also experience is practice.. and people must think my work is good enough if they are asking me to put a design on their hood. YES i do need more practice, that's exactly what this is. Thanks for all your comments everyone!:)

  • For your info, yuccasinger2, I've been playing for over 30 years and most of Clapton's stuff is only three chords anyway. It's not what your playing, its how you play it. Where's your wonderful work if you're so gifted? She's practicing, she's a good artist, she has good skill according to Kafka himself, so who the heck are you, anyway except a critic?

  • Much like your playing, practice refines your skills. Your singing, however leaves much to be desired. You are on pitch, mostly, but lack the depth of voice control and color to do justice to the tune that you are skillfully playing. That doesn't mean that you are to ridiculed for your effort. Kim has done some very nice work since that Camaro, and you may see some of that someday as well. Take the log out of your own eye first, my friend.

  • You need more practice before you start trying to lay down "Kafka like" designs on car hoods. Your control is just not there yet dear. You're trying to play an Eric Clapton tune with 2 cords. Sorry, don't mean to be judgmental, I'm just telling you like it was told to me 30 years ago.

  • Need more practice BEFORE i start laying down kafka like designs???? That doesn't make sense hun.. Practice is experience.. experience is pinstriping.. and thats what I was doing here. You did mean to be judgemental, thats why you wrote it, I am sorry people weren't very clear to you about what practice is..and what it does for your experience and skill.. but every car I do is more practice. This video is just a terrible example of my freehand skill, perhaps therll be a better video this summer.

  • nice design looks ike you are having fun, I just staarted stripping too, but i dont have the kafka brush, so i cant do the curves so well, wish i had your brush!!!

  • Kafka brushes are readily available at Eastwoods or at Dick Blick Art Supply.

You should think about taking Dick's course through Eastwoods.

  • @richardcroftsvideos great plugin for a kafka ad.....you don't need a kafka brush to do curves...im a pinstriper as well you just need to turn the brush with your curves....you might be holdin the brush rong too....i have a set of 12 kafka brushes that are still in its case......i love the mack striping brushes....if you think kafka is the only brand that does the longhandle brushes...well thier not....look up "jenson's sqirley-q".....its a great brush

  • For a beginner, you didn't do that bad. I can definitely see Kafka in it. Have you ever thought of laying down a grid to help? I say keep practicing and find out what works best for you.

  • Some constructive critisizm , try to let the brush make the line for you, don't force it. Just watch your pressure and that will help you have better line quality. And the last thing is paint flow , make sure it is like maple syrup not glue. Other than that, not too bad, and tell your boyfriend I like his car.

  • Being a girl in a pin striping world myself, I can only say that I support you and your work. It doesn't matter what people-who-never-touched-the-brush thinks about it! You, master Kafka (I admire him) and the owner of the car are the only ones who should judge this. Just keep working, I'm looking forward for some more ( better quality) videos of your designs.

Just one question. What size of brush is that?

    my best regards ;)

  • I think it was a Kafka one, Probably should have used Kafkas number 3 in some areas. I also admire Kafka. I was a student in one of his classes. :)

  • oh yea one more thing... ... You don't know me or my experience level, and it could have very well been my very first time with a brush and paint in hand.. it would be a smart thing to bite your tongue next time and ask a few questions before instantly throwing hate stones at my skill level. It doesn't hurt my feelings at all, because frankly I don't know you either...But I do know that I haven't been striping very long.. it's really very good for an amatuer.

  • Thank you Steve for all your guidance, I truly appreciated it! And for all those who don't like it( im going to post the end result.. maybe you would like it then.. who knows) and if not thats cool too. I will still keep striping, you know why?... I love it. I think it's fun, and whether or not it's good enough for you, well, I'm gonna be honest.. that's not important to me. As long as the owner is genuinly happy with their own vehicle, thats all that matters.

  • Hi everyone, This is actually MY design, and I am the one who was striping it. This video was unfortunately taken at a moment where I was fixing some lines, so I understand your disapointment. Perhaps you should use real words to describe why you really dont like it. I do appreciate constructive criticism. OH and FYI whether the person pd for the work is #1 none of your business.. and #2 he loved it and felt it was worth his time! It actually came out quite good!

  • not to great

  • Learn how to spell, you moron! What credentials do you have to even offer an informed opinion?

  • Credentials? Dont be mad because your lines are CRAP!!!!! Hope that person didnt pay for that bunk design. Lurn how to spel whut embesil?

  • I guess I missed the videos that showcase your skill level, but , you're entitled to your opinion. Kafka, one of the true masters seems to think it's pretty good. I like to think that a criticism should have some substance behind it, like what you think is wrong with it? The pattern? Color? The lines are sharp and clear, but its tough to see in the low quality cell phone video. If you don't like the design, then say so. The owner of the car loves it and I guess that's all that matters, eh?

  • I think you show tremendous skill level that practice will only make better ,keep up the great work

  • i think its damn good

  • noooooooo good

  • Everybody's a critic! If you don't have anything constructive to say, well, you know the rest. How about more details? Technique? Application? Color? Spell check? Don't like Camaros? With your limited vocabulary and punctuation maybe it takes a little while to find the keys?
