Great video Todd, those tri axle pole trailers and trucks can sure haul a lot, but it must be heavy fir or something on those, I really like that truck that's closest to you!
Trucks used to haul 120,000+lbs gross with a truck lightweight of 26,600lbs into Gold Beach.(Off highway loads) The Wagner they had there would take the loads off fine for the most part. Sometimes they had to trip the stakes because it couldn't lift it over them.
I just called the operator of the Wagner in Gold Beach and he said it was a "90". The only one he knew about that was bigger was a "120", which is probably what the one in the video is. He says they were a good, dependable machine.
That stacker is huge, if the operator isn't carefull the machine could turn a logging truck into scrap metal in seconds. Not big loads on the logging trucks.
@Graveltrucking I'm not sure what the weight laws are in Canada but here in Oregon you can gross 105,500lbs.
With the number of axles(7)that he has on the ground and at 17,000lbs per set of duels and 12,000lbs for the steering axle, it comes to something around 114,000lbs gross. Then if you figure the light weight of the truck/trailer is around 35,000lbs, all the loader is lifting is about 80,000lbs net.
@rockinpiano1 Logging trucks in BC are allowed to gross 121,914lbs, Those logging trucks are Tridrives ie 3 drive axles they can gross 52,900lbs the trailer axles are allowed 55,000 steer axle is 12,000-20,000lb depening on the truck.
It's definitely a Wagner. They had one at the Champion Timber Mill in Gold Beach, Oregon until it closed in 1986. It seemed like a smaller one than the one in the video but would still lift around a 100,000+or- pounds. They had a Wagner at Kinzua Pine Mill at Heppner, Oregon also. It had all-wheel drive. The one in Gold Beach just had power to the front wheels. Both were powered by a Cummins diesel.
The Heppner Mill closed in the 90's. Sad, sad, sad, all those jobs gone.
Graet video,keep'em comming
