Due to the illness, denise was dead while waiting Endy on the brigde (where they appoint to meet up for confession answer)..20 years has past, the purple guy (Jo) is the return of Denise, but in male body...So...I assume you can say Jo and Denise (spirt/consciouness) share one body, and Denise ask Jo to see Endy as she beleved that Endy was the fated one for her like the Butterfly Lover of the origin story line
this is a rewrited story base on a chinese traditional legend: Butterfly lover. In this play, Denise and Endy was first meet in University for a X'mas panto. Denise fell for Endy for the first sight but Endy only see her as best mate, then Denise try to covered her affection and be endy's friend but soon enough, she reveal her true heart to Endy and let him have a real though about her for 3 days... sadly, Endy already had a girlfriend as his fd introduced to him/her at the first meet in panto.
