It's about time Jeljr3 came clean. I think the core of his angst has been revealed to us now. What was the hold up?
I think we've only just scratched the surface of this guy's true feelings. Don't be fooled, this guy has a real issue with Obama's color. He's been holding back all along. He might not want to admit it, but it's there.
Next he'll say, "I've got lots of black friends". Bet they don't know about this.
You're partially right, my issue is that one half of the parentage is accented and the other denied; not that either parent was anything to be proud of. My issue, to paraphrase MLK, is not with the color of his skin but rather the lack of his character. Project all you want, there's just no screen here for it to hit ...
Ok, last post, I tire easily of fools. Look back over the discourse here; suppositions about me rather than response or retort to statements of fact. When you can't attack the message, go after the messenger. This has been enlightening though, with the sampling of "intellect" here; I see how this fool got elected and how his programs are being embraced. You wanted him and you got him; may god have mercy on us all.
Keep on drinking the kool-aid; I'll be back in 4 years to accept your apologies.
Not used to being on the moraly shaky side of differences of opinion, hey? Please don't try a Houdini-like slight of hand here. No matter how you try to fool your audience, your racism is still racism. Statement of fact or supposition about the "messenger", whatever you want to call it, you are clearly upset that YOUR new President is Black. If you're racist, at least have the nads to say it.
As you can see, God loves Black people too. Ask for His guidance, as well as mercy. You need both.
Well Rambo you must be running out of ammunition you finally had to shoot your "race" card with that last comment. Every commentator here has managed to get there point across without going "there". But, the topic here is basically freedom of speech so you do have the right as an American to go "there". I am anxious to see where you go from here.......
Again, if by "there" you mean a mere statement of fact; I guess I have been "there" all along. Was the race card not all over the table when he has constantly been hailed as the first "African American President"? Is that, or is that not, a statement of half fact? Does, or does not, the European American community not have just as much claim to him as the African American community? Com eon, fess-up; the facts are already known and just waiting for you to admit to them.
Jeljr3, I didn't want to stoop, but now I have to tell you that you're talking complete cr@p!
No one has ever denied Obama's mixed race. In fact, its much celebrated. We know this man of diversity belongs to everyone. Showing pride in the part we have in common with him doesn't mean we deny his white background. Where did you get that rubbish argument from?
Obama is just what this world needs, tolerant leadership with multicultural understanding.
Show me where this administration has been hailed as the coming of "the first bi-racial president"? As for tolerant leadership? He expelled reporters from his campaign plane for being critical of him. His followers had nothing but disdain for Bush, and that was "free speech"; but mine for him is racism and hating? Enjoy your president; the left had every right to claim Bush was not your president, and BO will never be mine; if I still have that right to disagree with the majority.
Jeljr3, I think I confused you. Tolerance means the ability to acknowledge and respect the beliefs and ways of others. Expelling reporters, whom I think you'll agree were out to destroy his profile, has nothing to do with being tolerant. Seriously, how long would you let me stand in your living room questioning your character? Not for a second, you're struggling even here.
And, again, his racial diversity has been much celebrated. You've just chosen to ignore it.
So ... statement of facts qualify as hating, but "Hater!!!' does not? I can see the "change" has begun. And, by the way, will there ever be made mention of the fact that BO is half black and half white? I guess we will hear about "the other half " if and when he screws the pooch? (Not the White House dog, is is a figure of speech)
BTW Mem - really great song and you can sure make that guitar talk. I agree with the comment, "maybe you can do a song - 'hello, Mr. President!'"
Barack Obama will make a difference in the White House in years to come. He already created history and with strong, sensible Americans to support him, undoubtedly America will recover!
Jeljr, you refer to Obama as the Anointed One, a sarcastic reference to the high regard most give Obama. We've had such a bad experience with Bush that people can't help but embrace hope. For every optimist hopeful for a better day, there's a bitter doom-merchant willing to tinkle all over a solution different from the one they'd prefer. Again Jeljr3 disappoints by forgetting another American ideal, innocence until proof of guilt. Peace be with you Jeljr3. I hope Obama improves your life too.
I think the reference began with the media choosing him even over Hillary. I do hope the best for the country, it just seems I don't enjoy the same right to question him as the left does to bash Bush for the past 8 years. I have accused him of no crimes, merely mentioned his lack of decorum to acknowledge the one who served before him.
OK folks, I get it, free expression is now a right one earns by agreeing with the majority; how very noble and democratic of the new majority! So . . . as it turns out; Mem is the Songmaster General of The Anointed One ... how dare I question or fail to adore?
I have thought it over and will just store this little ditty in my files for four years, and then can enjoy it as he sings it with application to B. Hussein Obama.
Yeah, sing that damned song in a few months when we have another terrorist attack. Reagan had the class to give tribute to his predecessor - the sorry ass we now know as Jimmy "Build A House" Carter. O'Damna made sure it was ALL about his sorry ass; remember to let it be on his ass when we are attacked again because he is weaker than a mixed drink in a strip club! Keep your words sweet Mem, I have a strong feeling you will be eating them.
If only it were. It's a musical rendition of the media-fed attitude that Bush is open for ridicule & worthy of nothing more; but The Anointed One may not be questioned, much less ridiculed. "You been here way too long & done every damn thing wrong"; except safeguard the freedom to post this song? "We don't care who takes your place as long as we don't see your face"? What a proclamation of ignorance! You doubt the double standard? This song can stay posted, but posts ridiculing BO get deleted.
Who is hating here? Not me; I merely stated facts. I didn't love Bush,i disagreed with him on a number of tings; but did respect his position, more than you or BO do. How can you have so much hatred and vitriol for the man who occupied the office and assured your safety. Sounds like you have an unhealthy dose of hate going on. (BTW, the newer computers will have spell check.)
Jeljr3, you mention before that you too disagreed with a lot of Bush's decisions. Are you telling me that over eight years of inept leadership, you never voiced your opinion? Mem is just using his talents and the means available to him to say what he feels. If you're so into American ideals, you have to respect Mem's freedom to do that.
Secondly, Obama is no more responsible for a terrorist attack than your local police chief is for the next mugging that happens in your town. Ridiculous.
Yes, I have expressed my disapproval with him on several topics; both domestic and foreign. And I never said Mem did't have the right to sing his song, I just fail to appreciate the way he exercises it; much as several seem to not appreciate my right to express my feeling about the song; the difference being that Mem has done nothing worthy of my respect and nothing of benefit to me. If Bush is responsible for everything today, BO can wear the blame for everything that happens on his watch.
Yep, throughout his extraordinary and diverse catalog is revealed a sensitive perception of human nature, as well as an extreme faculty for fun, funk and feeling. He plays nice guitar too. :)
Ok, I am remiss in my failure to realize that "an extreme faculty for fun, funk, and feeling" far exceeds having performed the the task of having kept us safe for the past seven years. My bad ....
You set the bar pretty high. No Mem didn't defeat the terrorists (yet) but he did fight the zombies in Bad Moon Rising (book 3 of Pine Deep Trilogy by Jonathon Maberry). :-D
This is WONDERFUL! Definate ringtone material! I love a good blues tune and I was dancing all over my house to this! Would love to hear more or see him do this live.
As much as I enjoy this video (and I hope it goes platinum) never forget the ones who protested in song when the Gulag was a real possibility, (Pink, Dixie Chicks, etc) Isnt freedom a wonderful thing
