  • brought a tear to my eye. Best of luck to her.

  • i wonder if she's improved since this video. that must have been a really awful accident to do this, wow. from what i understand, she was blind for a while following the brain injury too.

  • Duurrr...

  • I think the therapist may want to work with the mother on proper body mechanics so she may avoid injury herself to her back. I observed her transfer and it looked like it was a lil strenuous for her to do a 1 person total assist transfer. She has a strong BOS but she needs to bend with her knees not with her back. Other than that great job with the video. An its good to see the family is caring out the PLOC that the therapist has implemented in everyday activities.

  • @lilmrsraja Your comment on proper transfer technique is well stated. Please view the next video with Chelsey later in her life. "A Day at Work with Chelsey" Here she is transferred with a patient lift and it appears to be almost effortless.

  • Is she pouting at 00:23 when her mom talks about her accident..?

  • @SelphieTillmitt Yes, she did get sad when her mom talked about accident. For a few seconds during the interview, I thought she was going to cry. But then her mom talked about the positive things and Chelsey felt better.

  • Great job, Bonnie! I wish you well, Chelsey! I can see your mom is taking good care of you.

  • amazing.....People like chelsey inspire me every day

  • I wish I could meet Chelsey! she is really sweet,God bless her and her mom

  • It is amazing what you learn about the unique world of spinal cord and brain injury, just by checking out a couple of videos on YouTube. I wish Chelsey the best!

  • I think that is better to encourage her to speak, not to make her keep quite, because is really important to stimulate her speech again.

  • 5 out of 5 stars for this video.

  • good job nic video

  • I really liked your video and thanks for sharing. It will help many people. I recently posted videos about brain and spinal cord injuries and the law that I hope may help people deal with the struggle.

  • Hello, i have a standing frame, but this one is way better than mine. God bless you both.

  • keep the faith, I hope you can possibly try water therapy, I also had brain trama, and broke back, l -1-2-3-4-5 with 5 fussions, thankfully was incomplete injury, I'm out of chair and get around with a walker, water therapy is Great......please try it if at all possible!!!

  • all i notice through this video is Chelsey trying to talk and her mother keeps telling her to wait. I'd like to hear from Chelsey after all it is her body that is in it!

  • It makes me happy, I wish someone would lift me up in the morning when I can not get up. God bless you.

  • I want to give Bonnie a big hug. This is a great story of love and inspiration. Keep working hard Chelsey!

  • I wish I could give Chelsey's mom a big hug. To think of what she's been through and still remain so strong. A great story of love and inspiration.

  • Keep up the great work, as I have said across youtube. It takes a lot of bravery to deal with cerebral palsy, suffering with CP my self I know hoe hard it is to deal with. I will incurridge any person with a disability to go out and do the best you can, you are the same as anyone else your an equal, the same as anyone else, don't let it get you down. Prove people wrong, put your mind to it you can do it!

  • Actually Chelsey does not have CP, she has a spinal cord injury and traumatic brain injury from a snowmobile accident. Thanks for the great comment!

  • Does Medicare coverr it?

  • Medicare only covers standing devices by individual consideration...(appeal). Most private ( health insurance) and public (state medicaid) funding sources do cover standers, as long as the medical justification is complete and specific to the medical need of the individual, not a list of benefits that fit all user.

  • u should look into the fes bike too i have that and whoo its great
