  • I got the 9mm one

  • i think wolf ammo and tula silverbear and all those russian type brands run best in russian german rifles such as golanis FAL.PTR91s.saigas etc...not AR style rifles..think the brass ammo is the way to go.

  • The wolf ammo blows. Fails to eject often on my Oly. I learned the hard way. Too bad not watched your video sooner.

  • Whats the caliber?

  • @GladmanUSMC It is chambered for NATO 5.56

  • Doesn't like wolf? Damn that sucks. Because I have 1000 rounds of wolf. All well. Thanks

  • I've found that it can have a hard time catching the edge of the Wolf rim's then it doesn't eject it, but it tries to strip another round and then jams the other case in. The only way to fix it, is I carry a spare cleaning rod with me and then just use it to tap the case out, and good to go. This never happens on brass cased.

  • Nice rifle. Reliable? I got rid of my ak and have about a thousand rounds of 7.62x39 amo left. I was thinking about getting rid of it or buying one of these rifles. Not sure what I want to do. Just curious how it holds up.

  • It runs great. It prefers brass cased over wolf ammo. But with American Eagle brass case, it's beautiful. I have no problems with it.

  • Hey, have you had any issues with the bolt catch on yours? Mine seems to have stopped working...

It's wierd because the rifle still functions perfectly otherwise.

  • Nope. Mine works great.. Check to make sure the catch on the inside of the bolt catch is not broken off. also, the follower in the mag makes the catch go forward. How is your follower?

Does it not lock on all your mags?

  • Followers seem to be good, tried brand new Pmags, Brownells mags and some surplus USGI's. It doesn't lock at all or locks but slams shut when I drop the mag. I noticed that when I lock it manually, the bolt is extended too far forward to strip a round, it's about 1/3 of an inch past the bottom of the round... I bought a new RRA catch, hoping that will work but I'm not sure why since it's a brand new rifle. Is the catch supposed to grab the front of the star-shaped bolt, or the bolt carrier?

  • My father has the plinker plus with the 20 inch barrel, it's just as accurate as his friends colt, only difference i can see between them is the price tag.

  • I had a rifle build be Olympic Arms about a year ago. I have put about 1000rds through it with out one issue of any kind. As for amm DO NOT USE STEEL CASED AMMO!!!! My M4 with a 16" barrel gets sub 1/2 groups a 100 yards everytime. While this is not the ideal barrel length for a true target rifle my gun can out shoot almost everybody at the range and everyone asks me where I got my rifle. I have no problem refering them to Olympic Arms.

  • i have the exact same model(i have mods though) it is accurate, reliable and damn sexy. all that a rifle should be.

people just hate on olympics because they have pitiful lives

  • I just bought a oly arms AR-15. MY second mag I shot I got 1 misfire and 1 jam. Probably was my ammo (wolf). I love the rifle but now I'm scared.

  • The only jam I have ever had with my Oly was because of the ammo stacking up wrong in the clip.

  • That garbage laquer coated ammo would jam a Les Baer.

  • they don't make lacquer coated anymore, although there's still plenty of it floating around at gun shows.

  • @mainemilitia

you should be scared that you put crap ammo in a precision rifle. you wouldnt run crap gas in a porsche would you?

  • I got a buddy that owns one the K3B carbine and he just went over 10,000 round marker NOT ONE PROBLEM. I personally tend to favor stag-15 and or S&W m&P15a, I never had a jam or problem with them.

  • livving so close to oly is great, i built my oly with parts all from oly arms in tumwater.. they are truly a great comapany and great people

  • for future reference "jam" is a fruity spread for bread...malfunctions is the correct term...there areseveral; fail to feed - fail to chamber - fail to lock - fail to fire - fail to unlock - fail to extract - fail to eject - fail to cock - misfire...each malfunction has various specific sub categories too. It helps everyone to know exactly which malfunction occured.

  • I use to have a Olympic, they are just as good as any AR-15. I had the CAR97 model.

  • Agreed. Olympic is top notch.

  • Again, can you back that up? Or are you just a bandwagon junkie? Have you even seen an actual Oly? Or just "heard" about it..

  • Olympic Arms is cheap ass junk. Garbage uppers.
