  • No band soothes my soul and mood like Alcest does <3

  • Anyone else shut off the lights and dance like a little weirdo to this?

  • @moodysoup Umm.. no?

  • @MultiPosts That's a shame.

  • Neige is that kind of musician that was born in this century with a mind from past centuries..

i love the musics and the album covers, remind me of Opeth and others

    Neige you're amazing :)

  • soul breather! I mean truely nothing else in recent past.

    gr8 work!

  • One of the few blackhaze bands that really manages to capture this pure melodic bliss.

  • stuck in my mind and in my soul. love it

  • man i miss the days when people didnt label shit... it was just metal, new generation are such little bitches i fucking swear....just relax and listen to the fucking music, i just call every thing heavy metal...not deathcore, not black metal, not this not that not barbie metal, not spice girls metal, not back street boys metal, just metal...

  • @turningundead Ok,but Alcest's metal sounds like Children of Bodom's metal??Theres no more bitch that the bitch that dont want to learn

  • @turningundead I like genres, because there is so much music in the world and it makes it all much more simple when there is genres and I like to know what kind of music I want to search from interwebz and shit.. I wouldn't have even found this band if there wouldn't be subgenres and this is some really fucking awesome music. Everyone listens to music they want to and you can do it with genres and without genres. NOBODY CARES SO SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!

  • @turningundead genres are there to guide people if they're looking for specific music, you're not limited to set genres. nothing against you or anything, but raging over the genres doesn't do you justice, the only person who needs to care about the songs you like is yourself

  • Metalheads are soooooooooooo into labelling any album/artist that comes out as such-and-such sub-genre.

    How tiresome.

  • epic album! great songs, amazing artwork, lyrics are beautiful! worth every penny. or euro, in my case ;)

  • One of the most brilliant composers of our time. Nothin compares to the feeling you get from listening to Alcest. Can't really describe what that is, but it just stirs up emotions

  • what screamo is to hardcore this is to blackmetal

  • @dream431ca Everyone has an opinion. They're good at what they do, but It's just not for me.

  • This is the most beautiful song I have heard in a long, long time. There is plenty of badass, brutal, awesome metal out there. But truly beautiful metal is rare.

  • beautiful song thanks neige!!

  • Why does this song make me cry tears of joy?

  • This is not black metal. It's obvious...

    But is amazing!

  • @andrekawaguchi

Niege hasn't called Alcest a black metal band since Le Secret. people who say they are "false black metal" are idiots.

  • @andrekawaguchi black metal elements were used, and to great effect.

  • Really bad quality : (

  • i liked it after 3 seconds haha

  • @BeckEhster I add all its album in a playlist, after 3 seconds XD

  • This music is so beautiful :')

  • @kuromi07kawaii a real "screw you" to those kvlt hipster assholes who think Burzum is beautiful.

  • @ZOSOrulz1 lol I guess those hipsters deserve it, I just looked up Burzum & personally, didn't find anything beautiful about their music O_o Alcest is waaay nicer

  • @kuromi07kawaii I guess its some post modern philosophy they're following, thinking theres beauty in it. Its interesting that Varg uses the worst recording techniques, but his music is definitely not beautiful. Black metal was originally meant to sound evil and brutal, and not to be beautiful.

  • @ZOSOrulz1 Sorry to break this to you...but Alcest isn't black metal and neither does it claim to be.

  • @Froody191 it has some black metal elements in it.

  • @Froody191 Well...yes, it has some elements, and yes, it claims to be. It's always been part shoegaze and part BM since only neige remained.

  • disappointing album... but this particular song stands out.

  • I have been waiting for shoe gaze and post black metal to clash for so long. Thank you

  • @terriblecharisma i already did long time ago. check out amesoeurs and les discrets.

  • I like this a lot and it isn't the stuff I would normally listen to.

  • Wow, I'm really feeling this one. Fantastic song!

  • BEAUTIFUL!!!!!! I still can't believe how awesome is this album <3 NEIGE IS A POET!!!!

  • new genre: poetic metal =)

  • @501stlegionnaire lamest thing ever stated on interweb.

  • @carsonbyrdman really, you're really going there after using the word 'interweb' ? ...

  • @501stlegionnaire Why must we label it. Let it be.

  • @slayed001 it wasn't meant solely to label the music, it was a compliment

  • @501stlegionnaire Sounds more like Post-Metal.

  • @TheDepressed100 Do you really find that Alcest sounds like Isis ?

  • @Slugzorz I never heard of Isis...

  • @Slugzorz They sound like The Pax Cecilia.

  • @TheDepressed100 Isis is one of the most known post-metal band, just like Cult of Luna. I didn't know The Pax Cecilia, and listened them right away. A really nice band, but Alcest's sound and theirs are really different, imo.

  • @Slugzorz Thinking man's metal........Best line ever.

  • @TheDepressed100 Sounds more like Shoegaze

  • @501stlegionnaire Kill yourself.

  • @501stlegionnaire hipster metal

  • Wow, this is beautiful.

  • this music is sooo nice...reminds me of a forest with all magical animals ...amazing ,it inspires me in my artwork

  • I think i found bliss in Alcest.

  • listening to an entire album of Alcest is better than reading a book! ^____^

you get more information, and it will always be a good ending!

  • WOW. I was definitely not expecting THAT! This is some really good music.

  • This is the future of heavy metal music!

  • @dario1980ful Not exactly brother. Heavy metal will still remain heavy. But this is definitely very refreshing to hear!

  • Bliss.....that's the only word I can think of to describe this.

  • Parfait.

  • WOW.

  • Not bad.

  • the intro sounds quite similar to Jäästä syntynyt/Varjojen virta by Moonsorrow, great song anyway

  • French sounds so gay...

  • @AngryUrukHai Get cancer, cunt.

  • @billhicksisdead lol, I don't need cancer : I live in France.

  • Realmente maravilloso! *.*

    Para mi alma ! <3

  • English translation: Another Time A distant prayer, carried by the evening wind Enlivens leaves in their languid dance. Hear the song of the old trees, singing for you For the dark, resting woods. So many seasons have passed; they did not wait. The golden leaves dying on the ground Will be reborn under bright skies As this weatherworn world remains the same, And tomorrow, you and I will be gone. Courtesy of metal-archives[dot]com
  • Drums are better in this album.

  • I'm new to this band and I must say this is pure beauty! The clean vocals remind me a bit of the Italian band Novembre at times, they seems to be on a bit of a hiatus or something so I'll be happy with this album if they don't release anything again this year.

  • Will they ever disappoint their fans? This is just another fucking amazing track I've been listening to over and over. Love their sounds from the older more bm sounds to this and their shoegaze trancelike riffs LOVE LOVELOVE

  • L'album est un joyau dans la continuité des compositions d'Alcest, Neige pousse la qualité au maximum et nous offre de magnifiques offrandes. Un très bon album.

  • Someone almost fell asleep listening.... because perhaps they have to have their music always pounding to stim on. But does that say more about the music or a lack of ability to use brain cells in an expansive way?

  • Après l'écoute de ce premier morceau et après les premiers frissons, je me dis que cet album va être l'un si ce n'est le meilleur que Neige a réalisé, je me hâte vers le prochain morceau.

  • imma gaze...drift and then fade away from this world......

  • @BlackMetalMafia666 so you don't know how to listen this style of music

  • Disliked because these assholes copyright claimed my Escalles de lune video

  • I want the CD and now!

  • This year is so young and i think i found my personal ALBUM OF THE YEAR!!!!!

  • How is this different than any other rock song on the radio? Almost fell asleep listening.

  • @BlackMetalMafia666 I'm not going to try and sugar-coat Alcest's new music direction, (because it is different, and this song in particular is borderline rock) but to me there is still that dream-like atmosphere present in the music. You may not see it, but perhaps someday you will.

  • @BlackMetalMafia666 Are you kidding?? Clearly you need to listen a bit harder. This is much different from "rock" music, especially on the radio.

  • Thanks !!!!!!!!! Amazing !

  • just close your eyes, and you are free !!!

  • French made ;-)

  • I'm curious to know, and I'm hoping someone can answer. Alcest is often categorized under black metal. Is it because his lyrical themes incorporate anti-religion or is it because his music is styled and played in such a way that it can be considered black metal?

And please, no bantering about religion, just a straight up answer. Thanks.

  • @Shizzy77 Well, the music style is pretty "blackmetallish", at least on the previous releases. It's not Dartkthrone-styled black metal, it truly belongs to the third wave of BM. But Alcest is best described as blackgaze: black metal / shoegaze. Btw I thought Alcest's lyrics were mostly descriptive (I don't speak French).

  • @Shizzy77 I'm no expert on Alcest, but I do know the band started as a pure black metal and with subsequent releases incorporated shoegaze music into their style. Unless this song doesn't represent the rest of the songs on the album, I would say that they can no longer be classified as Black Metal by any stretch.

  • @insidethefall78

I know the second song in this album has a black metal element to it, but I can only tell from what I hear, since I don't understand french. Do you perhaps know the lyrical themes of this particular album? Thanks for the input by the way.

  • @Shizzy77 The translation for this song is found on darklyrics the theme seems to be melancholic/romantic A distant prayer, carried by the evening wind Enlivens leaves in their languid dance. Hear the song of the old trees, singing for you For the dark, resting woods. So many seasons have passed; they did not wait. The golden leaves dying on the ground Will be reborn under bright skies As this weatherworn world remains the same, And tomorrow, you and I will be gone.
  • amazing!!!!!!!! i dont know if i wanna cry of joy or smile with sadness!

  • FUUUUUUUUUUUUU

  • The intro thats added is so beautiful..... I almost never want to listen to the single version ever again...

  • Far better from the single version ( that I brought).

  • Merci de publier la version intégrale sur Youtube, en attendant le 31 janvier pour la sortie en Amérique du Nord :P
