  • My aunt and uncle have I think 98, with over 300K miles on it, no serious repairs on it that I know of, and it still runs great.

  • nice, i'm 21 and my dad sold me his 2001 grand marquis with 36k miles for $3k!!

  • uxwbill can check his makeup in those vanity mirrors.

  • @BonhommeRichard91 Uhhhhhh...I may do a lot of things, but wearing makeup isn't one of them.

  • I would say get the fm transmitter to listen to an iPod. Nobody will bust a window to steal a factory radio.

  • @tubageek2006 You can get an FM modulator that is basically a box that goes between the antenna and radio, when turned on it puts out a signal on a station that is strong enough that it over powers whatever else might be com in along on that frequency and you get nice sound. I've got one in my truck, works great.

  • That's my idea of a 'real' car.

  • @doogals99 amen

  • Heated seat repair doesn't require seat replacement, they usually take the seat covers off and replace/repair the heating pads. The air ride is a pain, but aftermarket parts make it less expensive to fix, I wouldn't want it regardless. My biggest Panther gripe.... no sunroof, its a must in any car for me. What are those red "NO" signs about on everyone's lawn?

  • @NJRoadfan One of these days we might fix the heated seats in the Volvo. Pads are readily available for that. I think the problem in my mother's Park Avenue is not the heating pad, but the relay that switches it. I think it has burnt contacts.

I don't like opening sun/moon roofs in cars.

  • don't know if anyone told you. but it's 281 ci

    They get such good milage!

  • You could use an ipod FM transmitter to listen to your iPod in Merc :)

  • @OldTimeForties While these things are usually fine for home use, most of them have a few problems in the car. First, the output level is usually low. This results in turning up the volume to compensate. Secondly, a moving car can enter an area where the chosen frequency is no longer quiet--or a signal momentarily appears from nowhere. Either way, the result is a sudden and startling loud noise from the radio.

Removing the antenna mast helps but is not always practical.

  • That's a really nice car,good buy!

  • Congratulations.

  • Orphan FoMoCo products need love too. Nice ride you got.

  • as long as the keykeeper is happy that's all that matter's :) i still love all of his videos.

but i think his pontiac is better than the grand marquis

  • @jerswift2002 GM or other? LOLS

  • @jerswift2002 What's better depends upon what you are trying to do. If you want sheer performance (on the order of "holy macaroni!") and handling, the Pontiac is the car to drive. It's comfortable, though not as plush as the Mercury.

For a car that just goes down the road smoothly, the Mercury is ideal.

  • @uxwbill you know the keykeepers got it all, a work vehicle, a luxury car and a fast sporty car. its funny because you used to have a few cars now he does instead,

  • @MOTERHEAD69 The difference is in the kind of cars we had. The Keykeeper actually has cars that people would want, with the exception of the BBPOJ. I've had all sorts of unroadworthy wrecks.

  • @uxwbill I tend to share his taste in nice cars/trucks as well, he picked a good one this time for sure!

  • Comment removed

  • old people not i have a 2003 Grand Marquis gs .I just redid the front suspension and new shocks.use kyb brand . Very flat handling and love cursing at 75. smooth and quiet.

  • Funny how the tach only goes to 5,000 RPM. Is it a diesel?!

  • @talldude123 No, but it is a V8 engine and you can't (or should not) wind one of those up like you could a four cylinder or V6.

  • my car has heated seats and my car is now 10 years old and they work just fine.

  • you could probably buy mine for 500 dollars. But it's technically my mother's and I'd have to make sure it's ok with her. I'm currently looking at a two door 1961 plymouth valiant that I'd like to have for $4200

  • @walshmonster2005 Hey those alloy wheels? Does the interior lights turn on when you touch the door handles when the car is locked? Or has that been a GM feature only? Are you going to add any "special features"? Like others have asked?

  • at last, a car that can put Ruby to shame. Congratulations, it's a sweet ride. You may wanna look into turning it into a sleeper Marauder if you want to have a high performance car

  • yay! a Ford product!!! LOL (sorry I couldn't resist)

  • Thats a very nice car, my car has an auto dimming mirror and i like it.

  • Really nice car, Keykeeper! Take care of it and it'll last a long time. You do need to black out that grill and put some flashing lights on it. Knowing some of the hooligans from around your neck of the woods, the car may not last as long if you did that though.

  • for 14 grand i would have got something else, to me this is old people car, how old are you again?

  • @jerswift2002 He is between 20 and 25. And having a full size car or sedan(4 door car) doesn't mean you are old or have kids. I have had Buick's, Oldsmobile's, Lincoln's, and my current Impala. I have never wanted a Toyota, Honda, or Nissan. Even though I had a GEO Prizim made by Chevy. I have owned a Ford F-150 and a Jeep Cherokee. I just like the feel of a full size sedan. Very comfortable. And if you get the right car it can have just as much power as a stock Toyota or Honda.

  • @ChiefLeftenant i never said anything about getting a toyota or honda

  • @jerswift2002 Just covering all the basis.

  • @ChiefLeftenant im just saying whom do you see mainly buying or driving these and buicks the truth now, not saying i dont like either i have owned buicks also

  • @jerswift2002 Umm, I have three friends that have full size cars. One has a Buick, one has a Mercury and the other a Lincoln with me having the Impala. When you drive these cars you notice others who drive them. Yes I see older folks driving these cars. But I know a whole lot of people who are in their 20's who would swear by a full size sedan. They are the long forgotten safest cars on the road. Such wide wheel base and extremely low center of gravity.

  • @jerswift2002 I think it fair to say that these cars aren't marketed to or popular with a younger crowd, with the possible exception of the Mercury Marauder. Yet there are a few of us younger folks out here who appreciate what this car is, and have our reasons for wanting one. The Keykeeper wanted a nice example of the breed before they might get hard to find.

I hope someday to find a B-body wagon, possibly with an LT1 V8...

  • @jerswift2002 Newer, modern youthful cars will not last as long as this car!

  • @talldude123 anything will last if its taken care of, i had an astro van with over 400,000 miles on it and still ran perfect

  • @jerswift2002 yeah but cars today are way too computerized and have lots of things that can go wrong, i pity people who have the newer cars that are keyless entry, keyless start etc

  • @gmcnewlook this is a 2010 it also has computer duh omg

  • @jerswift2002 i mean cars that have lots of bells and whistles more than this car..... like mercedes lexus, etc, those cars cost an arm and leg to fix when something fails.....

  • @gmcnewlook i didn't say to buy a mercedes or lexus, are you saying there are no other options but this car, dont get me wrong its a nice car

  • @gmcnewlook Which isn't very often. But folks who buy a BMW or Mercedes (Not Lexus, some of the cheaper models regular folk drive) usually have a lease and upgrade every 3 to 5 years. And Lexus is made by Toyota so its in its own category.

  • @jerswift2002 85% of cars made after 1995 have a computer. All cars made after 2000 have a computer and then some.

  • @ChiefLeftenant i agree , i know that, did i say they didn't ?

  • @jerswift2002 Just some facts that say their is life before the computer. Folks forget that without them all hell breaks loose cause TOO many things that are VERY important use them. We need to educate ourselves how to live without them. Thankfully I was born before every man, woman, child, dog, cat had a cellphone. And I try to keep my techie, gadget, obsession to a minimum. I have just now considered getting a iPhone or similar. And I'm really on the fence about jumping on it.

  • @ChiefLeftenant it's all good, i get your point, i didn't intend to argue :)

  • @jerswift2002 No argument just making conversation. Just talking about cars and technology. And how stupid we all are relying on it WAY TOO MUCH. I don't know about you but I do. LOLS

  • @talldude123 Part true. They are all mostly junk after 10 to 15 years. And a lot of folks don't know that you have to pay the Japanese government a fine every year you drive a car that is 10 (that's TEN) years or older so they are 99% recycled if they are that old. Toyota, Nissan, and Honda all make their cars with this in mind. So that mindset caries over to the US and EU market. While most of us have drove a 10 year or older car. Here cars just have to keep going.

  • What's the pontiacs fate? Btw sorry for mass comments didn't realise enter would separate them :P i forgot.

  • @TheDataZoo The Pontiac hasn't gone anywhere. It isn't going anywhere. It is fully operational.

  • 13grand :O in aus try 30,000 for something equivalent XD

  • Beautiful car :D wish we had them in aus but i guess thats why we have the falcons and commodores :P

  • It's too bad that this video wasn't two seconds shorter. ;-)

Take good care of that car, don't drive it like a wild person (as if!) and you'll have it a good long time. These are truly the end of an era...

  • tire pressure monitoring system that's pretty cool and useful - i wonder how it works and if it is as accurate as a normal tire pressure gauge

  • @ymxctrails It doesn't necessarily monitor exact tire pressure. It monitors the average pressure between the 4 tires. By doing something with the amount of drag that the tire feeds back into the drive train. Kinda like the ABS sensor that detects wither a wheel is locked up and will pulse the brakes. The tire sensor tells the computer that one tire is responding differently than the rest. The major key is all tires are the same at factory and if one goes low it knows compared to the others.

  • Great car! Funny you like the year of Mercury's I love in the Lincoln versions... My favorite is the 89 Town Car... just an amazing car!

  • Ah man - very nice car but you should have waited until you paid for your house before paying that much for a car. It's none of my business to tell you that but just my opinion. I just hope can afford to pay your house without having to work multiple jobs.

  • @ymxctrails The Keykeeper hasn't purchased a house, nor does he have anyone other than himself to support.

  • tat engine should be a 281

  • u know u can swap them radios for another factory ford radio

  • hey im the first comenter and the first viewer of this video good job keykeeper keep up the video making
