I just beat that Mecha Motherfucker after like 60 tries. I killed the regular guys I had there. I then got the lazer gun and ran to the podium. One of the corners was the sweet spot where I could see him but he couldn't see me. I then laid on the trigger of the laser gun and killed that SOB

That's true if this is a survival horror game like Resident Evil 1 where there are only A FEW very tough enemies to kill.

This is a FPS with MANY dudes. I really don't understand what's the fun with the low reserve of ammo. Will you really go rambo-style and melee your foes, turning the game into a first person boxer? Not likely.

This is just my view. I may still be getting this game for the achievements though.

Help with the Mech: There's a column to one side of the map (up the stairs under the alcove). You can literally hide behind it and the mech can't blast through it the way he can the short cement planters. The mech will come up to it and once he's gets close he can't fire his rockets at you. From there you can just step out and shoot him then duck back behind to recover. If he starts circling around the column just strafe around and keep the column between the two of you. It makes it easy.
