I bought a punky wig but the character I'm styling it for only has 2 spikes on the sides, layers down back and a few spikes in the front.... It's not going to be styled upward or all over the place...
huh...
I don't know if I should straighten it before spiking.
@boots1622fan Once you straighten it there is no going back so I would try it first and if you need to straighten it later then do it. I made the mistake of buying a punky for my Zelgadis wig because the spikes went up and not out so I had to straighten it. It would have worked better with a shoulder length wig.
I have a question, what exactly is a hot water treatment? I'm buying a red Punky wig and spiking it vertical/at an angle to a side. Do I need to use hot water or straightening? How hot can my straightener be?
I use the hot water treatment for when my wigs get frizzy ot have a curl I dont want anymore. I usually make my hot water like...just barely boiling, the bubbles are barely forming at the bottom, and then pour it over the wig =3

I wouldn't use a straigtening iron, to risky...I don't really understand what you're wanting to do to the wig though...
