@purple12boom You are right purple!! Recently they have returned the R68s to the N and B Lines. Shortly after I filmed this video, for a time there, N trains were exclusively R160s until they did in fact return R68s and R68As to the N and sometimes the Q. Nonetheless, I prefer the R68s to R160s. Hope you enjoyed the film and thank you for your comment! :)

i dont think so cause the q train was supposed to be R160 fully but if theres construction or on rush hour they would probably add 1 R68 for help but if you want R68/68a go on the B/D/S trains

That could be possible if they reassign or reroute cars for various reasons. I hate those R 160s. They are terrible.

r68s and r68as are the best im glad there still on the rails on the B,D,Q,S trains there will only be 2 or 3 r68/a on the g train all of them will entirly be asigned to the B,D trains the r68/as will be on the b and d for 30 more years as the mta said we will not waste perfictly good train cars as the r68/as because they are very good train

yeah since r62s are not allowed on the bmt lines or r142s all r160s cant replace every train so for now only a few r68s will go to the g train maybe 2 or 3 sets but the B,D trains will get all of the r68/r68a and the r68 r68a will stay for 35 to 40 years in the subway because the B,D train go perfact with them and everyone likes them cause there 75 feet long 12.8 feet tall and 10 feet wide and alot of seatings and theyre smooth so thats good

Do you think they will keep them on the Q line? The MTA should have ordered more of these instead of the R 160s. The R 68s are great cars.

its so sad that these r68s on the n dont run anymore. the last time i was on them was from atlantic to brooklyn but i ended up in canal street instead. i just want to see them for the last time.

I know how you feel. Sadly these soon will be history. Luckily we have 20 or more so years of life on these cars. I think they will remain on the D for a while. If you like these take the B, D or Q trains. The Franklin shuttle has them too!

Sadly there are no more R 68s on the N or W. They are all these R160s. I prefer the R 68s. Do you prefer R 160s or the R 68s?

I agree. I am not fond of those R 160s. They are ugly. They have no color or decor. They are smaller and more cramped. They look like a hospital emergency room with the grey color and the lighting. I wish they had more r 68s. Yes, I encountered many times when the electronic signs and stops were off.

Well I guess these newer cars may have planned obscalesence so the MTA will buy new ones sooner rather than later. The recent R 32s, R38s, R 40s, R 42s lasted over 30-40 years. The R 32s were the best built with the steel frame. Budd Company made great rail cars. Sadly they are no longer in existence. I am so glad I captured this historic video as no more R68s on the N line anymore :(

Yes, B, D and Q are the only lines left for the R 68. The R 68s ride smoother, they are more spacious and they have better seating capacity with seats facing in different directions so you cna sit with friends and have a conversation while traveling.

I agree with your statement. The R160s are terribke. I wish the MTA would see these posts and take our comments under advisement.
