  • Tungsten for this!!

  • the wings are made out of nyan cat poop!!!

  • this girl a her puns!

  • Okay, the puns are bad, but I can stand them. But they REALLY should have left the one with the sharp turn out. That one just came over way too deliberate. It just made me feel sick.

  • but will it blend?

  • i wonder if she made up all those great puns by her self

  • Thanks for the video! I used this to create a power point about how darts are made for my engineering class.

  • @nzqi1 People dumbass!

  • All that wasted metal that they don't reuse

  • @dasupasin You've never worked in a factory then. If it can be recycled, it gets recycled. Factories aren't stupid or wasteful.

  • wow can they waste more oil?

  • @GrenadeCatcher Oil are cleaned & recycled all over and over.

  • Really interesting video I liked it

  • less then a min to make and a weeks pay to buy them....

  • Those metaljobs are so butiful!~

  • The threads are cut by the machine using taps and dies. How it's made is for people who don't understand or know about stuff. A dart can be handmade as good as a machine to exact sizes but a copy lathe is used. And no it's not a computerised lathe

  • yep sorry, had one to many when I commented haha. A machine will always do this better but a blacksmith will always have skills that machine can never produce.

  • Wow, there's a lot more manual labor than I thought. I figured a robot would just take bar stock in and spit packaged darts out.

I wish they wouldn't skip over the hard parts, like how they cut screw threads.

  • If you are a pro dart thrower, you have too much time on your hands.

  • 12 people don't know how to throw darts

  • Hi I'm FireTalons and I'm not that "Famous" in YouTube...I just want my videos to have some view....So Please! Check them out!!

  • King Midas got some apparently

  • 4:16 I'm gonna start collecting those :D

  • NYAN NYAN NYAN !!!!!

    3:46

  • God...the puns...they're giving me a mind freezie.

  • Now, they have to make a video about how to make the dart board :)

  • This VO is the best one that How It's Made ever had. I like the voice of this woman, and how she does the VOs.

  • My only problem with this show is the amateurish writing. They say things like "soldering" when they are welding or say "Cooling device" when it's just 4 fans.

  • @seanmcloughlin7 Yeah, we don't know industrial machinery. How fucking stupid are we?

  • there not 'missiles' u dumb american bastard, there 'arrows' n u dont put 'wings' on them luv, u put 'flights' on em!!!!! fuckin yanks !!! next theyll be tellin me an 'oche' is a fuckin 'field goal line' ARRGGGHHH!!! i do luv disneyworld though...

  • @magson87 But, she does call them Flights. She only calls them Wings at first, so that the un-educated can make the connection afterward. Admittedly, however, she does call them that late in the video...

  • @magson87 Missiles are any object that is forcibly propelled at a target, by hand or mechanically. They're missiles. For a missile to be called an arrow, it must be fired from a bow.

  • HOW FUCKING LOUD!!!!!

  • SO MUCH LUBE !!!!

  • lol darts "wings"

  • brass or tungstien to create the barrel

  • Is there really a large enough market to make so many hundreds of thousands of flights that we see being produced in this short clip????

  • This program is so awesome when you're high.

  • @littlestworkshop because people who don't use or know about machining just call them a machine

  • off the bar machining? sweet.

an infinite amount of amusement? hmmmm.

  • @littlestworkshop It is specifically a screw machine, as much as it is a specific type of lathe. FWIW.

  • @YoungJim409 Specifically it is a Swiss lathe.

  • why are there soo much slime on those machines

  • @BladeOfForsaken To lubricate the cutting tools. Metal gets danged hot.

  • Thumbs up if you watched this late at night and you were bored.

  • I wonder what machines make those machines

  • @nzqi1 more machines

  • @nzqi1 it's not machines, its chuck fucking norris.

  • @nzqi1 Yeah I said that before, who makes all these crazy machines and how are they made? It's insane, like this holy grail no one knows anything about these terminator machines.

  • enough with the puns ffs. :p

  • did anyone else see the confederate flag at 4:20?

  • Aluminum? Never heard of it.

    Aluminium however..

  • @Serostern fucking british...

  • 4:17 Racist dart >:D

  • Imagin there breack times =D

  • @littlestworkshop because dumb americans

  • @viperz888 Because dumb Americans what?

  • @viperz888 Douche

  • I just wanna know how they design and build these amazing machines!

  • i watched my brothers hand get stapled to the board in a game of darts, i pissed my self laughing for about 10 minutes.

  • The length of the video is 5:01..... AWESOME!

  • @curtmang Haha, well spotted.

  • tungsten > brass

  • B-b-b-but these darts have no soul!

Real darts can only be made by blacksmiths and their hammers! Not cold empty machine! These are just glorified pins!

    *Rages*

  • @Smiterly It was a joke.

A parody of the numerous similar comments against machine-made swords.

  • who create all these goodness machine? they're genius....

  • who is this bitch wheres the awesome sounding guy

  • sick drum beat.

  • This is interesting. i never knew how darts were made.

  • Lol

    ALOOOMINOOM

    XD

  • Lol

    ALOOOMINUM

  • "Ah-loo-min-um" Sod off you silly American bitch.

  • @Liberate1990 *Canadian bitch. The American narrators are both male, Brooks T. Moore and Zac Fine. The Brits get Tony Hirst. Both spellings are considered universally correct, but north American dictionaries tend toward "aluminum", but just like in all other dictionaries, they include both spellings.

  • @DragonXero

And Zac Fine is one of the world's highest priced narrators. For some TV programs he could command nearly two million per episode.

  • @douro20 Can't say I'm horribly surprised. He's one of my favorite narrators for the show, at least in North America. That is a lot of cash for a few hours of work though.

  • What metal is used on an official dart board? :)

  • @55dpc sisal fibers, and darts whey all from 12grams to 40 grams

  • @broddish2 Sorry I do apologize. The fiber is interesting but I meant the metal used as # markers on the board. Steel, aluminum, 17-5 ph material, brass, copper, etc. But thank you !

  • I didn't hear anything about the weight of a dart.

  • @cadders123 Both spellings are acceptable. North America now uses -um while much of the rest of the world uses -ium. Check out the article at World Wide Words.

  • is it just me or did anyone else see the confederate flag as a flight

  • @halomainia I saw it but it isn't that special is it? in darts stores in my town I see them too By the way I'm dutch so.

  • @manhattenhero o...ok

  • erm they are called flights not wings you bich

  • lol length of video is 501......

  • If it only takes one minute to make one why does it take 5 to explain it.

  • That is so cool to watch how it cuts the aluminum

  • it looks like the machine is giving birth >P

  • jesus christ, the size of that machine for a little dart!!!!!!

  • @littlestworkshop because its a capstan?

  • @MrQuijibo I think they are Swiss lathes (the type of lathe not the nationality of the manufacturer) but whatever they are they are still a type of lathe.

  • @littlestworkshop its called a toolsetter, and if aluminum or brass is all its cutting it can produce millions of parts...

  • @Forbidenist It is a swiss lathe, the bar stock is pushed through a bush that acts as the support allowing extremely short overhang and heavy cuts, this is combined with gang tooling. Search swiss lathe on youtube. The only reference to tool setter I find are devices for setting zeros.

  • there not WINGS

  • 9 people have no shaft

  • guy at 0:29 just looks like a darts player lol.

  • I tried to play once... we had to rush my brother to the hospital.

  • lol at 4:19 there are southern USA flags ;)

  • how much for a print job?

  • 9 people ordered the confederate flag flights

  • i have a fetish for how its made :) <3

  • awesomee

  • i bet they started at throwing at an convict for justice and indoor fun and started making dartboards when the law changed lol

  • Arrow dynamic!

  • "Now it's time to screw the shaft" WHAT DID SHE SAY!?!

  • @KMplusIS "They force a pointed steel tip into the hollowed end of the dart barrel"

  • @KMplusIS OMG!!! That is Funny!!!

  • @KMplusIS haha thats what she (the person speaking) said

  • Forget dartboards though, just find a wall that needs a few holes and hang a poster of Justin Beiber up. Bonus points if you hit his eyes.

  • a lot of wasted metal for this lol but its fun!

  • Cool. Nice to know. Amazing bit of stuff

  • Just to think of all the variety of grips, this video was very good

  • I know a guy who plays a dart tournament every Saturday wth his pastor

  • @sluggo06 Thats funny coz i usually play with my pasta before i eat it to.

  • "That's what she said" Moments.. :P

  • did i see the confederate flag at 4:20 ?!?!?!

  • so precise!

  • this is so cool :)

  • nice cutting machines

  • alooooominum. Get it right americans. It is spelled Aluminium, not Aluminum.

  • Comment removed

  • @KODAKGUYNUMBER1 lol !!! you have no idea what your talking about... read up

  • Comment removed

  • @KODAKGUYNUMBER1 a british chemist who discovered it named it Aluminium and thats how it was put in the english dictionary. He then changed it to Aluminum and thats how it was put in the american dictionary... its was then changed back to aluminium but it was never added to the american dictionary so aluminum was the most common version in america..... its something along those lines

  • @KODAKGUYNUMBER1 That's the american spelling, i.e. retarded spelling.

  • now its time to screw the shaft.. xD

  • '

    wow very pretty make it

  • CAUTION : Do not place penis here

  • This is a fantastic site.

  • man thats a fuck of a lot of tools that go into flight shaft at the very beginning, I bet those English soldiers never would have guessed where their dart gaming would have gone.

  • any machinist out there, any tips on making my own darts??

  • @Jesus1229 Did you even watch the video?

  • Aww, they never explained when the poison is introduced

  • cool

  • @Eragon4695 Very...

  • had a set of taylors til my kids thought they would go well in the sand pit

  • at 4:20 there is a confederate flag desing

  • @Kevono34 Caught that, as well. Scary.

  • lol alloominum

  • Dear "how it's made", why the lame puns?!?!

  • Confederate flag @ 4:21

  • @llamafur hahahah yes, i have those flights.

  • oh jees thats complicated

  • to allow the shaft to be screwed onto it. thats what she said XD lmao

  • Waste of oil much?

  • @ManginaHole they'll re use it

  • @ManginaHole - It's not wasted, but filtered and reused...

  • Darts are fun

  • I once ate a dart a shit it out whole. Then I tried it again and it never came out.

  • @miguel13371 WTF?

  • one time i had one thrown into my hand

  • An infinite amount of entertainment

  • i once threw it so hard it went right through the dart board

  • @icebreakersix1nine Sometimes it can go right in your brothers knee. =(

  • @icebreakersix1nine lol

happened the same to me and since then i noticed it was not good putting it on the window xD

  • @esorcist560 lol its probsbly cuz mine is so old

  • very interesting, especially the bit of history at the begining

  • haha nice to know this (:

  • oh my bad it was oil

  • what is all that brown or tan water mess on da first part

  • that was oil, not water. it is used for keeping the machines cool.
