  • I'm an RN & I couldn't help notice your sterile technique isn't always sterile. Please don't take this the wrong way, I just want to help. I'm sure you know why the procedure needs to be sterile, but please maybe have your home care RN point out what steps aren't . Fill your xylocaine syringe before dropping it onto the sterile field; review putting on sterile gloves; don't touch anything that is "dirty" once your sterile gloves are on (prime the line before putting gloves on).

  • Yes, Angie, the venous cannulation is usually a breeze! Very well behaved. The arterial on the hand is a stubborn old chap. Troubles me most of the time!

  • Your venus looked easier to cannulate than the arterial. Thx for the vid :)
