  • sounds amazing!

is that little whistle, when you start it up, the turbo spool or just the engine breathing?

  • loving the pooowww!:D

  • Is this legal?

  • Love it! Have one with straight pipe also

  • Beautiful.

  • Uhh blackmagic it is a diesel. I didnt know diesel cars are not supposed to sound like a diesel?

  • Comment removed

  • Sounds like a fucking tractor.

  • @BuzasKseries Don't really care if you hate VW, but it shows that you don't know what a diesel motor sounds like.

  • @egibbys And I don't care if you don't care that I hate VW, by the way i have an 84 rabbit diesel and it sure as hell does make major valve tapping noise, I've had bent valves before and it doesn't even sound that bad.

  • @egibbys

soooooo true.. i have a 2009 tdi of my own the 2.0 litre tdi. but man i love the start up sound of ur 1.9tdi. its jus so much louder and u hear the motor unlike mine which is quite quiet these day. regardless good response to that dumb-asses comment.

  • @BuzasKseries That "valve tapping noise" would be diesel fuel combusting after being compressed to kindling temp inside of the engine. This is a pretty common sound from what's called "Diesel Engines". Type "Diesel Engines" into the search bar, you will notice that "terrible valve tapping noise" in just about 100% percent of these engines. Listen to this sound long enough along with watching what these motors can do, and it will soon be the most beautiful sound your ears have ever beheld!

  • @BuzasKseries It's not the valves! haha It's in almost every diesel!

  • Wtf it sounds like a diesel pickup truck, nice job ruining it.

  • you notice a power difference with the kermani tune?

  • @clifborder4fm Yes of course. There is a significant difference over stock.

  • @egibbys Ive got an 06 jetta TDI. Know where i can get preformance shit?

  • It sounds like a gas 4 cyl when revving with a turbo. That's cool.

  • what tune did you get? my tdi also has the hot start issue.

  • @crasylatino16 Its from KermaTDI. You can visit their site at KermaTDI.com. Rocketchip is also a good choice.

  • Hey ! I have the same but i did a fuel pump signal modified that is ajustable with a potentiometer insted a chip set that cost 300-400 $ ! it is awesome the power ! It smoke black and burn tire in 2 geard ! new clutch ( not the dual mass)

non more EGR shit and the crank case vent under the car insted in the intake ! 60mpg stuck turbo vnt-15 with 15 psi +/- 230 Hp ! 355 000 km and start very fine at -21 C Nice video! Max.

  • the TDI is a turbo charged motor with diesel injected directly into each individual cylinder. it is a technology that has been used in transport diesel trucks for decades.

Providing better economy with more horsepower and torque. In other words f*****g awesome design.

  • Sounds like someone needs to get the kids from each bus stop

  • i thought the smoke was only soot....? but idk im probably wrong, and even if it is, i see nothing wrong with it.

  • Why would someone free flow a diesel?

  • yes 10 pounds is low but with the chip and other mods we are still pushing around 210 hp

and yes i have been on that site before and it is filled with stupid things and people have no idea what they are talking about....... and i do not work a VW dealership i work for a VW / Audi specialist where we do pretty much only TDI's

and Turbo Direct Injection makes no sense explain to then why it would be Turbo Direct Injection......and not Turbo Diesel Injected

  • @VWmasterkid I'm not going to try and explain to you why it is one thing over another. Use google. Type "What does TDI stand for?" Not hard to find an answer. Its all over the place.

  • @egibbys TDI = Turbocharged Direct Injection

Verify with Wikipedia, My cousin is a VW mechanic as well, that is my source for this information.

  • @KingOfTheClutch Wikipedia is not a very good source since anyone can put anything on there. This is pulled directly from the Manufacture's Repair Manual.

"Engine......Turbo Direct Injection (TDI)" I rest my case.

  • @egibbys That is exactly correct.. Wtf are you talking about?

  • I was referring to two separate posts in my post. So I was agreeing with one person while telling the other guy he was wrong.

  • @egibbys Ah understood. +1 to you sir.

  • @egibbys Turbo DIESEL injection

  • @KingOfTheClutch

How do we know that you didn't just change the article?

  • @Fratty124 How do we know your not just a troll?!?

The changes are mediated by wikipedia, any changes are reviewed and removed if proven untrue.

Doubt what you want, if your a true VW buff you'll know the truth, and I know what the truth is.

Question.......why did you even bother typing?

  • @KingOfTheClutch

They are not mediated by Wikipedia. Its done by users. Wikipedia has under 20 employees no way they could monitor every single page and review every page.

  • @egibbys

    that's a 1999.5 ;)

  • @TheSaltySea It sure is. :)

  • @VWmasterkid because there is two types of diesel engine one you almost never see or hear about that is indirect injection or "IDI" and direct injection and since the engine is turbo charged it mean turbocharged direct injection it is a much better and cleaner way of getting the fuel into the cylinder

  • @VWmasterkid Because the engine has Direct Injection technology plus a turbocharger...

    hence TDI

  • @VWmasterkid You look like a fool

  • @VWmasterkid so your saying that a turbo and diesel fuel are injected into the cylinders then? Why would it not stand for Turbo Direct injection, if its got both that would make sense

  • no..... i am a volk wagen mechanic and TDI stands for Turbo Diesel Injected........ not Turbo direct injection that makes no sense........

car sounds good just put a limited slip tranny in a 2001 TDI and put a 17 inch turbo on and running about 10 pounds of boost with a chip and other stuff.... .car is putting out around 200 hp and she halls ass lol

gotta love the TDI nothin like it

  • @VWmasterkid Sorry but it does stand for Turbo Direct Injection. Check out tdiclub.com. Just because you are a mechanic doesn't mean you know anything about TDIs. Dealerships are extremely hated on tdiclub for their lack of knowledge base with the TDI motor. And 10 pounds of boost is extremely low. I'm running a stock turbo with a tune and I'm at 18 psi. This is normal.

  • @egibbys hes right you're wrong TDI is turbo diesel injection not direct lmao...

  • @modelearth That's what many think and you are one of them. Look it up. Its not hard to find. All over the internet. Turbo Direct Injection.

  • @VWmasterkid you are right mate hes wrong

  • @modelearth Wrong answer. Don't get his hopes up.

  • @egibbys whose hopes?

  • sounds really good... i'm hopefully gonna get a passat when i'm 18 and havin a mechanic for a brother comes in handy cuz he's gonna straight pipe it for free :L any have any advice bout anything else i could i'd appriciate any comments

  • yeah you can....dude,im irish,if theres a way ive found it.wats your email and il explain

  • Look at the smoke! I love diesel smoke. :)

  • go luk at my videos....listen to the turbo on the silver golf...lol

  • dude what type of fuel mileage you getting on that car?

  • @mirc225 I average 45mpg and I have a high of 51mpg, so it treats me pretty well.

  • Nice, I'm running with a full turbo back straight pipe and no egr and it sounds pretty cool. I'll post a video of it soon.

  • nice tractor..

  • @Blackbirdcivicsi How the fuck does that sound like a tractor?

  • lol this ones quiet. i just took my gf's car to the muffler shop and had a 3 1/2in pipe from the down tube back. now i just have to wait for her to get home i'v got a nice surprise lol. your car sound really good tho, my gf's sounds like a cummins at about 2000 rpm's lmfao. man i'm in trouble

  • The start is unbelievable... Love it

  • doesnt that just ruin the purpose of having a TDI?

i mean one of the reasons is for the Tdi Particle Filter to clean out the soot.....

if you remove that... you just have a turbo diesel..... and that you should of just bought a old Mercedes......

  • @ApSykesThewolf The muffler does not filther the exhaust in any way. You may be refering to the 2009 version and yes you would not want to do this with that car. This car is not one of the new clean diesels made by VW. A TDI is a turbo diesel. I don't see what you are getting at.

  • @egibbys Actually TDi stands for Turbo Direct Injection:)

  • @IMakeboost I know it what it stands for. I was just try to educate the uneducated.

  • @IMakeboost

i thought it was turbo diesel injection

  • @IMakeboost no, Turbo Diesel Intercooler

  • @MrBoo1515 are you serious?

  • @IMakeboost

Heh, I always though it stood for Turbo Diesel Injection.

  • @FANADICALCOWHEAD it sounds like a turbo diesel in this video dont it haha

  • @egibbys lol maybe he wants to save the environment ..who knows... ha ha

  • @ApSykesThewolf unless u want a v-dub that is awesome.

  • @ApSykesThewolf yea i dont understand either? why would he buy an old mercedes diesel? jettas have great fuel economy and thats why people buy them.

  • Sounds like my neighbors car. Except his is an older Mercedes 300d. Cool.

  • what does it rev to?

  • @CoonBabble In the video or in general?

  • in general, i was wondering what a vw diesel like this revs to

  • @CoonBabble In general about 4000 rpms

  • This is not a straight pipe. Its a mufflerectomy .

I have a 2.5 no cat no res no muffler side pipe sounds completely different than this.....just whistles and whistles.

  • @djpickle68 Yep you are right, but nobody would have a clue if I was to say mufflerectomy. This setup whistles and whistles as well but obviously ya can't capture all of the audio with a digital camera.

  • Looks like something a Caucasian would do. Most other folks would be like "if it's not broke, why fix it".

  • I also straight piped my '01, and chipped it. She sounds pretty good, but I think that bigger injectors are in order. "more black smoke" when stomping on it would be cool. haha

  • I know exactly what you mean. haha

  • damn, i kinda want one now

  • Awesome. Thanks for posting this. @ eman8201 - LOL :)

  • no harm dude..that aint a full straight through

  • @jkaftershock It can't be completely straight through or I would never pass inspection.

  • yeah but theres a way round it,if u take the cat out and empty it,cutting the hole frm the "unseen" end,and simply weld it back over, also,do the same with the middle box and replace the back box with pipe, make sure the back bit of pipe is clamp not weld, then simply replace the back box for inspection.and bobs ur uncle lol

  • y would u want to amplify the horrific sounds of a diesel engine??

  • Its a diesel thing, you wouldn't understand.

  • do you have just the muffler removed, or the muffler and cat?

  • muffler and cat to be considered straight piped

  • and soot trap/ or resonator.

  • whoever gave me a negative comment can suck my sack. on my 97 powerstroke there was only a cat and muffler, just like on basically every other diesel truck. i guess diesel cars are different

  • dpf not cat, but does the same thing more or less

  • @arcticcatzrw Just the muffler.

  • theres nothin rong with ur turbo wen u tune a diesel they always put out more black reek as we cal it.lol

    sounds nice

  • No Tweak, No Reek

So, Get that Black Reek Pile'n Out!!!

  • Sounds good chek out my videos sometime of my stage II jetta tdi

  • Its just unburnt diesel ;-) nothing to worry about

  • Actually my turbo is perfectly healthy. There is always going to be a little smoke with a diesel engine.

  • Yeah the black smoke is partially burnt fuel. It can be caused by very low boost. But in most cases its due to normal turbo lag or over fueling.

  • love the video keep the tdi vids coming
