I don't know how to explain it but in a era of listening to everything from King Diamond to Metallica, this album was very fresh. It has soul and rhythm. It was very similar to the first time I heard the live version of Phantom of the Opera on Live After Death. It isn't just thrash metal, in my mind it was a complete game changer, enlightening.

@DigitalPosion The fact he is a christian was the original reason he stopped playing this song. He stated on more than one occassion that he wouldnt play certain songs anymore due to his beliefs. Just over a year ago, he said he was in the right frame of mind to start playing those songs again, and now didnt believe it would conflict with his beliefs. So maybe now he doesn't play The Conjuring due to it being difficult to play, but it was his beliefs that originally made him not play it anymore.
