@nareikc99 Sid Leiken has political experience, announced to run as republican, but dropped out of this race to run for a seat on the Lane County Board of Commissioners. With Leiken out of the race, Art Robinson was the only republican left to run against Democrat Peter Defazio. So all the Republicans threw their support and money at this guy without knowing what kind of guy he is aside from his political goals. Basically it's a waste of money trying to beat Defazio, only the crazy would try.

What I find funny is that Art, knowing full well that Rachel Maddow is a mouthpiece for the Democrats, would bother going on her show, only to accuse and insult her while completely avoiding her questions. He says, "Every one of your viewers knows exactly what you are, Madam." Well, Art, if you know exactly what she is, why did you bother going on the show at all. Besides, this guy is so generally wrong, even the most extreme Republicans would want nothing to do with him.

I'm telling you all. Rachel Maddow is a force of nature. Her ability to maintain her control and not call this man every name in the book is to be commended. While Robinson was rude and clearly only came on the show to try to "game" Maddow, he had a valid point. It was unfair of Maddow to insist Robinson had called AIDS a "government conspiracy" when he never used those words. He wrote about "political" manipulation of illness classifications by the government, but this is worlds different; political expediency does not equal conspiracy.

Still, he's damn rude. "Haha. It's fun to argue with you on your own show, but you really ought to settle down"
