  • Thank you for your nice words. I love that old song and my version of it is heavy influenced by the versions of it by John Faulkner and also Sean Cannon of the Dubliners - my own i'hybrid' nterpretation so to speak. Go raibh míle maith agat.

  • Very nice - good guitar playing and singing. I like the Solas version of this song which is syncopated in different way, but your version is really good in a different way. Rock on.

  • Went through dozens of versions of Newry Highwayman and like yours the best. Learning how to play and sing this fine tune, but leaning from the interesting melody from an Irish band that played in NYC in the 80s, 4 to the Bar. He, like you, has an amazing voice, but in a different array.

  • Absolutely amazing Tim. My younger brother sings this song in our band from time to time - the two of you seems to have the same perfect blend between Sean Cannon's and Faulkners versions. Lovely vioce and zouk as well. Keep posting and all the best from Denmark

  • @Armunk thanks very much for your kind words. Its a great old melody and a great song to sing. The bouzouki is one I got in Germany from Heiner Dreizehenter who makes very good instruments. I love playing this guitar bouzouki when its picked up especially. Theres a great old bang from it and tit has a good range. Thanks again for taking the time out to post your comments. Slán tamaill. • I just knew the Solas' version which I adore..... yours is totally different but such as good and ... Wow, I love it... You've been added to my favourites! Thanks!

  • I really like the way you sing... And I'd really like to play this song too!

I see your guitar has 5 strings? What are the tunes you use? :)

  • thank you for your comments. my instrument on the video has eight strings that is four pairs of two strung in unison. the tuning used is ADAD. Hope that'll be a help to you

  • Oh thanks for the reply :) !

  • Ah, there is it... ...my old guitar zouk. Lovely song!

    See ya around
