46 million in America lack health insurance. Of those, an estimated 10 million or so are non-U.S. citizens, most living in this country illegally. Millions can apparently afford health insurance but for whatever reason choose to not buy it. In 2007, an estimated 17.6 chose NOT to buy it.
A 2003 Blue Cross/Blue Shield Association study estimated that about 14 million of the uninsured were eligible for Medicaid and SCHIP and would be signed up automatically if they went to the hospital.
The 46 million figure should actually be closer to about 8 million truly uninsured. Too many are simply non-US citizens, not paying for insurance because they choose not to or feel too young to need it, or simply are not signing up for programs for which they are eligble.

The act creates and defines the District of Columbia and "by which name it is hereby constituted a body corporate for municipal purposes..." The PRK is probably the only totalitarian state currently in existence (and one of maybe four or five in history). However, their ideological roots are quite obviously Stalinist. Which doesn't make it better, but it also has no relation to Hitler. I don't plan on going down without a fight. I get fired up every day thinking about how things have changed so drastically in the past ten years. Before 9-11, I didn't even really know anything about Muslims. Now, that is all I hear about. They are moving in by the 1000's. I see so many of them here that I wonder if the wars we are fighting are a way to get most of our troops overseas and have it easier for them to attack us here from the inside. Planned by our leaders perhaps?

@4000marco Your facts are fiction... Everyone has access to health care. They may not have health insurance, but the law mandates everyone who shows up at emergency rooms must be treated, insurance or not.
46 million in America lack health insurance. Of those, an estimated 10 million or so are non-U.S. citizens, most living in this country illegally. Millions can apparently afford health insurance but for whatever reason choose to not buy it. In 2007, an estimated 17.6 chose NOT to buy it.

A 2003 Blue Cross/Blue Shield Association study estimated that about 14 million of the uninsured were eligible for Medicaid and SCHIP and would be signed up automatically if they went to the hospital.
The 46 million figure should actually be closer to about 8 million truly uninsured. Too many are simply non-US citizens, not paying for insurance because they choose not to or feel too young to need it, or simply are not signing up for programs for which they are eligble.

Here in the States Democrats are quite "Liberal" and Republicans are "Conservative".
The Liberals propose that the working class pay for and support the party's agenda by raising taxes on even modest incomes and huge taxes on business. They then engage in MASSIVE spending campaigns that cripple taxpayers for generations.

Conservatives here propose lower taxes on individuals and business to stimulate economic growth and consumer spending and investment. They seek to simplify an amazingly arcane US Tax code to encourage US made products and business, and to fairly spread the current tax burden across all classes.

Lastly, I am not inferring it... I am WATCHING them do it. The current administration is bleeding this country dry and it will effect my children and possibly their children...
Liberals are Pro-Death for the unborn, pro-homosexual marriage (another oxymoron), pro-tax & spend, pro-welfare, pro-hand-out (vote buying), anti-christian, anti-homeland security.
Conservatives are pro-life, pro-traditional marriage, anti-tax & spend, pro-faith (of your choice), and VERY committed to US security.

You are correct in several aspects 29G, but..
As a kid when you visited your whole outlook was different.
If you have money almost anywhere can be a great place. It's the opportunity to make great wealth and the freedoms afforded rich and poor alike that make the USA the greatest.
Social Security is a misnomer. It is a socialist idea that enslaves people. A free market and the American spirit are what drives this country.

I have visited many places, and of all Europe, Rome was my favorite. But in the end, like all other intelligent human beings on this planet, I was left with the indisputable fact that the USA was/is/always will be the greatest nation on earth.

I think the policy choice is something that probably resonates with most US citizens and a lot of western culture, the solution sounds quasi-reasonable, totally viable and probably in progress (on a more covert level).
Of course when spoken with these amazing lyrics it is a beautifully repulsive theory.
Still poignant and 30+years old, wow.

Get that right for once!!! the continent that goes from Alaska all the way down to Argentina including the Caribbean Islands was named so after the Italian traveller Americo Vespucci. You can also read the Constitution of the United States and you''ll see that the name "America" referring the US is NEVER mentioned on the document.

There are 2 continents with America in the name.
NORTH America, and SOUTH America. We are named the UNITED STATES of America because colonists arrived on the NORTH American continent, formed states from colonies, created the constitution, fought for independence, and joined together as the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, thereby separating themselves from the King and his country.

LOL, I must have been thinking of those miniature kangaroos that all all the rage this year. Don't worry, we won't really bomb London. Dr. Who and Skins are too popular over here. This song made more sense back in the 70's. Nowadays, the world really does have reason to...um...er...be cross with us.
