Political Science, economics, and sociology are all useless subject matters. It's a real shame that some colleges do not value the importance of accounting laws and public laws. A large number of college professors are just not willing to spend the time do research on the laws. They will rater spend their energy doing the easy work: elaborating their own opinions/political views. Always taking the easy way out.

Actually, contrary to your reply to my post, there were plenty of conservative professors as well as plenty of liberal professors in the college that I graduated from in the early 70s, and I would venture to guess that there still is a well-balanced mix. As for your reference to "Idiocracy", it was "interesting", not great.

According to U.S. News & World, U of O has the fourth best graduate education program in the nation, outranking even some private universities such as Harvard, Johns Hopkins, and Northwestern... it also has the most productive faculty in terms of research funded... they have to be doing something right

Thom can get tough, but part of me wishes this was one of those times. His points are valid: it's obvious that conservatives tend to want to make big money while liberals tend to want to give.
I've had conservative fellow students whose minds didn't change because of having a liberal teacher- another good point Hartmann brought up towards the end.
To be honest, though, it's kind of a goofy topic: as long as a professor *teaches* material well, his politics shouldn't matter in a democracy.

Fox fair and balanced? Where was the balance in this segment? A conservative host and a conservative guest (along with a producer-goon harassing a provost) are pitted against a lone liberal. O'Reilly gave Hartmann only two or three brief moments to speak. And when he did, O'Reilly immediately interrupted him for an instant rebuttal. Is that a fair hearing?

By and large, the more educated you are, the more liberal you are. It's a fact of life. Look it up. Everyone with a teaching job in a university humanities department is a college graduate so many of them are liberals. If you want to find conservatives on college campuses, head to the business school.
