This guy is the shit. I went to a Bad Religion show and this guys guitar tone blew me away. I have spent 2 years trying to emulate it. He is also one of those guitarists that serves the song instead of himself. I'd take him over some ego-maniacal lead guitarist solo master any day.
Why wouldn't Brett do more solos, or be more active in the guitar playing i general, seeing as how he IS the original and better guitarist for the band. On that note, why isn't he doing the lesson too or instead? He MUST be lazy or arrogant... He has to be.
Oh, your right... he wasn't back yet. My bad. Well, I just figured since he started the band with Greg that he should be doing lessons too. He has come up with a lot of the stuff Brian plays.
At this time in Bad Religion, Bret wasn't in the band anymore. He came back latter though. But if you go watch them play, even though he is officially in the band, and he does record with the band, he almost never plays with them. I guess he's too busy running Epitaph. But that's ok with me, because I don't really love his guitar playing, and he can't do backing vocals for shit.
@twoboots4you are you kidding? its jay that sucks ass at backing vocals. watch the palladium vids you will see that brett is actually a far better singer.
I don't know if anyone said anything, but Mr. Baker used a wah pedal on the solo for "10 in 2010". Also on the inside booklet for "Live at the Palladium" one of his peices of equipment is listed: "Morley Bad Horsie Wah pedal". I don't care, Brian is still my hero
He's a bit of a hypocrite. He hates Drop D because you can play power chords with 1 finger... but he tunes the A down to G to you can do exactly the same, but with an extra string above it.
brian is the shit! i remember meeting him and mark orell (drop kick murphys) after a show at the docks in 2006. we all had good chat about music and society, those were really cool.

True. Just so you know, Brooks wasn't the drummer at the time, Bobby Schayer, but left because of a shoulder injury.
