Johnny is the first person i saw sing live, i have a picture of him and I, HE is still and always b the BEST!! I was 8yrs old at the time, now Im 28, and Ill never forget that day!!!!
My band played for the first time in a huge venue...The World, at Roosevelt Field in 1968. Also playing that night were the Outsiders, and the Brooklyn Bridge. Johnny Maestro sang 16 Candles, and the Worst That Could Happen. Thanks for the memories Johnny.
RIP Johnny - Your great voice is not silenced, just moved to the highest stage there is. We'll still hear you......when rain gently strikes our windows, and that first sunburst works it's way through the clouds to produce a rainbow, it will be the Heavens giving you a standing ovation. Thank you for the thrills and chills.
Ive lost a tiny piece of my soul. I still remember the first time I saw Johnny Maestro & the Brooklyn Bridge at the WCBS-FM 15th Anniversary concert. It was magical. I went on to see him in small clubs in Brooklyn, outdoor concerts (at the World Trade Center) anywhere I could see him. Each time, it filled my heart and brought me so much joy. Thank you Johnny, for your wonderful music and your magical voice. Rest in peace as you sing for the angels. Im sure theyre listening in.
Johnny Maestro was the greatest singer from the rock and roll era. He proved that rock and roll had great talent like this. I am griefing for Johnny. I was a big fan of his, I also live on Long Island, he did us
Johnny Maestro is still going strong at around 73 years old I believe! You might wanna listen to 'Worse that Could Happen to Me". He became most famous from that song! Yes, probably the best voice I've ever heard!!!
Waht a voice!! How come we never heard more of him? I know he's been out there, but, there are so many out there who don't even seem to have much a voice who we hear about all the time . Johnny had it! I hope he's been happy.
This was filmed in 1974 at a community college in upstate New York. The concert, which included several other groups, was shown on cable TV channel HBO in 1975. Johnny Maestro's voice has remained great for over fifty years in the music business.
