Wow, that's an amazing performance by Betty Lavette.

Shindig reflected the diversity of music in the early to mid 60's. American AM radio in the 60's was the greatest musical education!

I was stunned too to see such a raw and riveting performance on a network show, especially for this time. This made me take notice of Bettye. God, this woman makes me want to cry when she sings this-especially near the end. So much emotion.

Producer and creator, Jack Good always aimed to have everyone on Shindig! be they teen-pop idols, country greats and even blues and r&b performers. It was truly an ubelievably fantastic show that reflected Jack's passion for the music.
