  • That commercial at the end was just wtf?

  • nintendo 64 and psx was great, then ps2, i never get rid of my nintendo, i still have gamecube,

  • thank you mentioning body harvest

    that game was awsome

  • woot

  • Two things: First, the N64 wasn't true 64-bit, it was dual 32-bit. Second, the 64DD made it to Japan and had a better than expected run.

  • @yewles1 wrong it had a 64 bit processor but a 32 bit grafics chip

  • ps1 had better games but the n64 was still SO badass I still have mine ill never sell it

  • the N64 was awesome. great video guys.

  • The N64 analog stick wears out pretty bad-most used ones I see now for sale are loose and floppy; if you lift up on the stick it works ok, otherwise you run slower, etc... I have some 2nd party n64 controllers that do not have this problem; but they don't have the "3 prongs" design either! Of note:the N64 controller mold was re-used for a lot of those cheap 10 in 1 or 64 in 1(whatever) nes multi-game things-ya know, that hook up with AV cables?!

  • The reason for the 3 prongs was because if the joystick didn't work they could always go back to the D pad ^-^ I thought you might have wanted to know that maybe or something <.<

  • what the hell are you talking about, the n64 was better than the playstation, playstation couldnt compete with the n64

  • What are YOU talking about? Graphics aren't everything. I love the N64, but the playstation beats in a lot of ways, mostly because of the N64's limited storage capacity. The N64 also only had a handful of RPG's, and it just didn't have the kind of 3rd party support the PSX had.

  • The N64 was the first console i had and i got it with ocarina of time and a rumble pack. Personally, because i played from the very begining the with rumble pack, i found the controller to be too light without a rumble pack.

  • lawl nice commercial for the N64

  • I got one today

  • Does anyone remember the early footage of what the graphics were meant to be like for the n64, really incredible graphics which were nothing like what the n64 was capable of, video game shows of that era would show these videos.

  • The only thing that stopped the N64 from taking off was the Cartridge VS CD format...simple, that's the biggest reason why. There were some other limitations that were..."design flaws" like the limit of 4kb for textures but otherwise the biggest problem was the cartridge which at that time could only hold up to 64MB when CDs were holding 650 and 700MB. It's funny though that cartridges or "cards" are the future now like SD cards, Solid State Drivest etc.

  • The N64DD did see the light of day. But it was realesed only in Japan

  • Correct. Sorry we didn't specify, but we meant it didn't see the light of day in the USA. I wanted to play Doshin the Giant so bad! -Ron

  • They pop up on eBay from time to time. But they do cost alot.

  • I remember that comercial it made me want an n64

  • Ah the N64

i really loved my PS1 but lets be honest when there was a good game on N64 it was VERY good.

zelda oot 4 example destroys PS1s libary of games.

Mario kart!!!!! my god i used to come in from school sit down and just play 2-player

    N64 was special.

ps1 were great but IMO N64 had the classics!

  • I agree, and those gems on the N64 still hold up as fun games today which is pretty impressive. Anyone who missed out should definitely go back to check out some of those ground breaking games. I had an N64 at the time and was always jealous of the tons of games my PS1 owning friends had, but like you said the games that did come out for N64 were excellent and I knew that I was getting my money's worth at least even if some were $60 compared to $40 PS1 games. -Ron

  • @NewGenGamers i totally agree with ya .

  • jaguar 64 was 64 bit. Just kidding

  • LOL You can see for yourself when we cover the Jag, coming soon from NGG. - Ray

  • you don't have super mario 64 or the rare games [ banjo, conker, dk 64, etc]

  • We decided instead of the usual games people associate with the 64 to showcase titles other titles that more than likely got looked over in the library. We did decide to keep some N64 staple games in there but not the ones you would see in everyother video about the 64. -Ray

  • its called the dynamic drive not disc drive.

  • I had never heard that, but it seems that 'dynamic drive' was the original intended name for it and later switched to 'disk drive'. Thanks for letting us know though. I do remember when the N64 was codenamed 'Project Reality' though lol. -Ron

  • also with the controller you could still play traditional fighting games which the gamecube controller failed at

  • If by traditional you mean 2-D fighters, you are absolutely correct. The GC controller was a real pain to play many fighters with. One of the only exceptions was Soul calibur 2 but that series was more or less built upon analog stick control.

  • so even though the n64 controller is not the most perfect controller - IT IS BY far the most functional controller ever created. I really can't speak on Soul calibur 2, I found it quite lacking as a fighting game.

  • Why did the series jump from volumes 2.0 to 4.0?

  • Each volume is its own series. It's best I explain this before our next set after PS1 starts. We are doing it by each generation, so volume 4 is the ps1,n64,saturn,3do,and jaguar. The biggest reason was are doing them out of order is we started with the consoles we had and we are getting to the point where we need to find and buy or borrow the ones we did not. Volume 3 will begin with our next set starting with SNES. Hope that cleared it up a little. -Ray

  • So what do you think?

  • Your so aweso[me! and funny!

  • OMG loved the commercial at the end, save the pinata. LOL

  • Thats what i was thinking when I saw it.
