  • Expensive, NICE!!!

  • dear santa...

  • Ok. I guess I'm just used to it being flush or lower.

  • Is the high end needle on the the truggy supposed to stick out some?

  • @RCcrazy2008 It can depending on how rich you need to make it.

  • I,ve just bought eight 2.0 buggy. and that tip about pushing down on the motor is so simple and effective. yet at race meetings with so called racers. i still see them starting how you shown not to? maybe because there sponsored and it don,t come out there pocket.lol great vid.

  • Lol. That's true thanks for the help.

  • Will do. Thanks. I'm thinking about buying the 8-2.0 buggy. Is that a good buggy or is there better?

  • @RCcrazy2008 3-Time ROAR National Champion... kinda speaks for itself :)

  • I just bought one of these. Comes in tomorrow. I already have an MGT 8.0. This will be my first truggy. Seems like it will be good. Kinda worried about the starter box though. I heard the belt breaks fast.

  • @RCcrazy2008 Make sure you push down on the engine head when starting, NOT the wing. A lot of people push on the wing which can cause issues.

  • what is the top speed

and I liked and I loved all of your videos so I had to subscribe

On a scale from 1 to 10 how would you rate it

thank you very much and please reply asap

  • How does this compare to the rc8t rtr

  • So the RTR is similar to the race roller is what your trying to say

  • @lopisu89 Correct

  • i was wanting some advice. if i was to buy 3 cars for 400$ at middle so iv been looking and found a car called Kyosho Inferno VE Brushless and zrb 1 so which one would be best

  • I made the wrong comment before. I only run Losi Cars, and think the quality and customer support is top notch, What I meant earlier was the RTR is a great unit but does not share the same parts as the roller. Sorry about the previous statement.

  • @KesaK Actually it does share a majority of its parts with the Race Roller. The A-Arms, uprights, hub carriers, knuckles, etc are all the exact same as the Race Roller. That was my point when drawing to the lineage. The main differences, minus the included gear of the RTR of course, are the chassis plate, shock towers and the diffs come out of the box filled with grease instead of oil. Other than that, yes, the RTR and the Roller share the majority of parts between the two.

  • is ist just me or is he not very great

  • @MrCatWalkBMX the toe-out on the front wheels helps the truck turn into a corner more aggressively. It's pretty common to run 1-to 2-degrees of front toe-out.

  • is the price different in canada

  • Comment removed

  • @KesaK It wasn't meant as a comparison to the Race Roller as to show how much of the design the RTR shares with the Race Roller. Not everyone can afford a full-race package 8IGHT-T 2.0, however the value that's there with the 8IGHT-T 2.0 RTR makes it an easier pill to swallow. The intent was to show the pure race heritage of the RTR, nothing more.

  • what happened to breaking in your motor?

  • @HPITRAXXASLOSI It was done before this video was shot.

  • whats the top speed on that i have a erevo and every nitro now looks slow so i just want to know it can go over 45MPH

  • @xiPropheT I'd say 45 is a good number. Remember it's designed for going around a racetrack, not just straight-line speed.

  • how much

  • does this truggy comes with the starter box charger, the glow driver and its charger?? and a charger for the dsx3??

  • Youve sold me Im deffenetly Getting the RTR .

do you have anything on the New Diffs available they also look sweeet.

  • @shifty76 New diffs? You mean Smart Diffs? Or the lightweight ones?

  • @HorizonRCdotCom

    Yes the smart diffs.

They kind of remind me of the one way diff just tonns better.

  • Is the 1st edition race roller better equipped than the 8t 2.0 rtr? I.e does it have a stronger driveline, chassis and suspension etc? I have the chance to purchase a RR 8T at a discount price which may be a better buy than the 2.0rtr?

  • Hi, are the parts interchangeable between the eight T race roller and the 8ight T 2.0?

  • @Straightsix76 Yes they are.

  • does it have the same engine as the lst?

  • @Straightsix76 As the LST XXL? Yes, I believe it is.

  • @HorizonRCdotCom did the 1st 8T use the same mach .26 engine as used in the lst/2?

  • @Straightsix76 No, the engine in the original 8IGHT-T was the 427.

  • @HorizonRCdotCom what is the difference between the 427 and the mach 26?

  • @Straightsix76 The 427 is a bit larger (.28 vs .26) and has more power.

  • @HorizonRCdotCom ok thanks for the info

  • does it have two speed tranny...

  • @TheCagomoC It does not as that is not legal for racing.

  • How do you steer the car in air? btw do you race whit that thing? and on what web sight can u buy it?

  • How do you steer the car in air? btw do you race whit that thing?

  • what glow plugs are good with this motor or brand

  • is there a big difference on the 20 or 30 fuel

  • @domjasper Not ginormous but noticable. The tune on the engine will be different from one to the other.

  • for the starter box can i use two 8.4v 4500mah to power it up or is that too much for the motor?

  • @KILLdaBOOSTERz I wouldn't recommend it.

  • i just got this truck can i break it in with 30% fuek will that hurt the motor the fuel is byrons that i want

  • @domjasper I used 30% in this truck myself.

  • lol you look like my dad

  • hey does this truck come with a 2 speed tranny?

    how fast would this go?

    last but not least

may i put a dynamite mach 2 .28 big red engine?will it fit?

  • @picotish760 It does not come with a 2-speed and there isn't one for it as it is not legal for racing in this class. You could put a Mach 2 Big Red into this if you wanted to.

  • I have a electric slash 4x4, and a erevo 1/10 scale. I am upgrading to brushless in the revo today.

    newb nitro question:

So with nitro cars/trucks how do the brakes work? With electric the motor can it spin backwards, i dont under stand how the breaking in the air works with nitro? Is it harder to jump a nitro because of this? Please explain. Thanks

  • @dsmdeegen There's a servo that opens and closes the carb on the engine. This same servo has another linkage that engages and disengages a set of disc brakes that are mounted to the center differential.

  • you got no idea how bad i want one of those!!!!

  • losi has the best trucks!

  • hi man do i need to buy a y harness for the nimh packs cuz i think you need two nimh packs right?

  • @khalid67596 For the starter box? It comes with all the connectors you'll need.

  • @HorizonRCdotCom thanks man

  • hey so did you win the next week at your club?

  • Is this Good for Basing too? I am looking for a Nitro RC that is FAST will do big Jumps and Handle good etc. ( I Race Motocross so I would like to be able to take it to the trackand hit some of those jumps aswell)

    -thanks

  • @mmrsmotocrossracer this is ment for racing get a jato and hop up the parts

  • I have always bought cars brand new, however i found a eight t 2.0 that only has a few tanks of gas run in it for $500. Is it a bad idea..? He says it runs perfectly...but you never know....

  • @xTrickProductions You can never truly know the history of the engine. I liken it to buying used batteries. Sure, it looks fine on the outside but you can never really know what is going on under the surface.

  • dude i cant keep my eyes off this truggy.....its design just looks awesome!!

i have a hsp bazooka atm and i put a axial .28rr-2 and it does 40 000 revs....witch u rekon would be a beta car to have??

  • @hardstyla97 I'm not familiar with the HSP vehicle, sorry. I will say that the 8IGHT-T 2.0 is a very stout truggy.

  • good deal a guy at my track put 1200$ in his losi race roller so this is cheap

  • what is better rc car losi 8igth-t 2.0 or 8igth 2.0

  • what batteries did you use in the starter box?

  • @442domintation I modified it to work with the LOSB9821 LiPo pack

  • wich one is better the losi 8ight 2.0 or ae rc8b ft for pure racing plz reply

  • @aussiebloke1914 losi 8ight, don't get the rtr, get the race roller

  • amainhobbies sell this for 700$ cheaper there..800$ is too much

  • I am sold im going to get two of these....!

  • Des is a cool car

  • what do you estimate top speed to be

  • @MrJoelucius I'd say around 40MPH is a pretty solid range, if not higher.

  • the aliminum hubs and supports make a difference i think rad hobbies dose a custom for 1200$ aud

  • Hi it's me again the person who got a new losi 8ight t 2.0rtr I just posted a Vid of it called losi 8ight t 2.0rtr first run on track thx again

  • i wish this thing was like $500, $800 is too much, but i guess considering the spektrum controller, $800 is a bargain.

  • @thesomeone48 Exactly. But in addition to the radio ($250 on it's own) you also get a good starter box too, and those aren't exactly cheap either. Sure, it's a lot of money but when you look at what you all get it's actually a really good deal.

  • how much is it?

  • @TecIsAwesome $799.99 on the Horizon Hobby website

  • Could i just buy the race roller and instead of buying the nitro stuff i could just convert it into an electrc.

  • @MRAlrounder Yes, you would need the LOSA0912 conversion kit plus ESC/Motor/Battery/etc.

  • i dont no wether to get this truggy or the savage x man i like them both. sme people say the savage is faster on acceleration and vise versa. i want to bash aswell as race, but more jumps, and toughness but good handling. plz help, thanks.

  • @3aaadddzzz0 They are two totally different classes of vehicles. I think a lot of your decision comes to whether you're looking more for a truggy or a monster truck.

  • Thanks for the advice I just bought it today and broke it in at the shop it is awsome thanks again

  • @aussiebloke1914 Great to hear! Post some pics on our Facebook page, we'd love to see them!

  • which has more upgrades the truggy or buggy

  • @aussiebloke1914 There's pretty much the same number of option parts for both.

  • I am thinking to buy the 8ight 2.0 rtr or the 8ight t 2.0 rtr which onr should i buy i want to do both bashing and racing but i am leaning more to bashing plz help

  • @aussiebloke1914 I would lean towards the 8IGHT-T 2.0 RTR if you're going to do more bashing than racing and here's why. The truggy will have a little more ground clearance than the buggy so it can go up and over more things. Plus it also has a larger engine which will yield better torque to go up and over things too. Finally a truggy is a bit more forgiving to drive than a buggy so it may be easier to drive.

  • @HorizonRCdotCom thanks for the help i have just found one in a shop i am going to buy the 8ight T 2.0 for my 12th bday thanks again

  • @HorizonRCdotCom which will put a faster lap time the 8ight 2.0 rtr or the 8ight T2.0 rtr plz reply

  • @aussiebloke1914 Depends on the driver but normally the buggy will be a bit quicker as they change directions more quickly and carry a bit more corner speed.

  • How hard would this truggy be to customize?

    Like suspention

    Chassie

    survo

    Etc

    camo

  • nice denim shorts lol jk, i really like this kit

  • hi i am stuck between two choice the losi 8ight 2.0 rtr buggy and the mugen mbx6 buggy, the mugen costs more and is a race roller so im looking towards the losi can the losi buggy handle just a few miner crashes each race without breaking because ive heard that the mugen is stronger

  • @alexisdabest1 Have not seen any durability issues regarding the 8IGHT 2.0 RTR at all.

  • quick question how did you break in the motor and what settings for throttle and steering throw are you running thanks

  • @bayareaaxialcrawler I did break the engine in with my normal method. Regarding throttle and brake settings I don't have the radio here so I don't know exactly. A lot of that will be personal preference too.

  • My birth day is april 10th and i dont which one to pick...which one should i pick out the truggy or the buggy....thanks

  • @iike100 The 8IGHT-T 2.0 RTR has a larger engine and greater ground clearance, plus it's a little more forgiving to drive. The 8IGHT 2.0RTR is a little more nimble, but that can make it a little trickier to drive at first.

  • truck is the same as the 1.0 rtr other then the tx and bump box and a few small accessories as for the truggy same thing. i got both and no difference.

  • @iamcyberpunk68 There are significant differences between the 2.0 and 1.0. I want to say there's 30-32 differences between the two trucks. From the front end to the rear, the chassis and more there are quite a few differences.

  • whats the biggest enine i can put in this

  • @bermyguy77 Most tracks allow up to a .28 in the truggy class.

  • im not gona race i jus goin to drive it so whats the biggest motor i can putin whith out modifyin the chasis

  • @bermyguy77 I dunno, there might be some .32's that would fit but I kinda doubt it. I think .28 is going to be about the cap.

  • can that 454 motor hang with the likes of picco...lrp...os 28 xz.......can this car hang with the big boys??

    for $800 it needs to

  • The 454 is a great engine. Dakotah Phend has been using one in his all-out race 8IGHT-T 2.0 RTR and able to hang with the likes of Truhe and Drake. It's a stout mill.

  • many thanks

    good review

  • @1521joe no it cant hang with those engines chief.

  • @iamcyberpunk68 it can and with a good driver mine has

  • @bayareaaxialcrawler im afraid not chief ,,but thanks 4 comming out .If you want to tell others that,,,it fire ,BUT please dont tell me that sort of thing ..thanks.

  • @iamcyberpunk68 have you ever even tried driving the 2.0 to compare it i think not because it is a whole different beast than the 427 set-up with the 1.0

  • same thing different engine and tx , chassis is the same 2mm difference a arms same towers same center diff same braces same wing mount same shocks same , etc

  • 800 isnt bad at all....considering the price of a roller, radio, engine, servos, bump box...its a steal. not to mention i run a 21 in mine, and i guarantee i'll have zero trouble hanging with any of the motors you listed...its all driver.

  • yep

    you gotta good point.

having said that the roller is a little beter quality

the engine of your choice will be a little better

and the servos will be a little better

but you still have a good point,.

BIG RESPECT GOES OUT TO YOU MAN.

  • True, not saying the roller isnt any better. But i do think the roller is a little overpriced, while the RTR is a really good value. My roller took over 1500 to make it go, if you assume i started with nothing. And i still cant get the thing to fit my ofna bump box right! for me its not a problem, but if your pit guy is new...forget it. My point is, if you have only 800 bucks buy this rtr and a gallon of fuel. If you lose the race you've still got another 700 in your pocket for upgrades/spares.

  • LOL

i defo wont argue with a man who talks sense.

after all $700 spare bucks is a lot of bucks

    :)

ps...would lurve to see your roller...sounds great man.

  • and i guarantee, if you spend that 700 on track time. You will stomp all your buddies with 2000$ cars and no track time cause they spent all there money on having "the best" parts. for the record i have a 21 vz-b and 28RR. never even installed the 28 because its just nasty with the 21... i have 28/30/32 in my bashers cause wheelies r kool ;)

  • does all the telementry's are included like the temp thing and how fast are you going

  • Yes it is

  • Great review. Will you being a review on the Losi TEN-T soon? I am hoping to buy it as soon as it is released here but would like to see a review first.

  • Dunno, that one may have to wait for things to warm up in the spring. I do want to but 20-degree temps and a frozen track aren't conducive to testing :( Although I hear Leisure Hours runs Indoor Nitro, I may have to make a road trip

  • Thanks for the reply. In that case, do you know of any current online (text or video based) reviews of the TEN-T?

  • I don't. I want to say the new issue of RC Car Action has it in their latest copy of the magazine though.

  • Thanks for the tip. After a bit of research it seems the review will be in the Feb 2010 issue.

    thanks!

  • hi

    uk distributers?

    thanks

  • You can contact Horizon Hobby UK actually. YouTube won't allow links in posts but send us a private message if you need a link.

  • i love this truck i have a losi raminator and have just orderd a losi lst xxl from the USA....london england

  • Im looking in to geting a truck that would be fun at the track and also be fun to play around at the park and stuff like that would you recommend this truck?I have been in nitro for 12 yr now so a hard truck to work on is no prob

  • you've been in nitro for 12 years and you don't know what you want?

  • Absolutely. The benefit of a truck over a buggy too is, if you're bashing around, you have more ground clearance to go over grass and such.

  • @HorizonRCdotCom Thanks for the reply ill be picking this badboy up at the end of the year

  • good review! i wanted a revo platinum until i saw this. go team losi!

  • I personaly like the Losi 8ight 2.0 buggy simpley because the stenth. I got a crappy HSP Electric buggy XSTR-PRO and I dont realy like truggies. I dont mind the desert truck though but this thuck is extream. I went to the track yesterday and had a chance to see it run. I WANT ONE FREE

  • what would be the best glow igniter for the 8ight t 2.0 rtr

  • I use the LOSB5221 or the DYN1925. I like the Dynamite one because it has a meter on it so I know instantly if the glow plug is bad if it's not firing.

  • Could you still install a pull starter

  • You could, however you'd need different engine mounts and a back plate. I don't know if there's a pull start backplate that's compatible with the 454 either.

  • what would be the best fuel to run in the 8ight t 2.0 rtr

  • I ran 30% Losi Nitrotane in the one in the video, but that's the fuel I run in all my .21 or larger nitro vehicles. I have round with Nitrotane that the engine is easy to tune, it runs cooler, I don't burn out plugs and I get great fuel mileage. I know others run Dynamite's HP8 in 30% and have had good luck with that.

  • I've heard that using 30% fuel will hurt the life of your motor they said using like 20% will make your motor last very long

  • I've run 30% in all my 1/8-scale motors for the last 3 years without issue. Make sure you're taking care of your gear, tuning it right, etc and you'll have no problem with 30%

  • Nice I'll get one after i save up! LOL!

  • wow...Nice but let's be honest, this is pricey! The markup is nsane...

  • Do the math, the value IS there:

    8IGHT 2.0 Buggy- $649

    Competition engine- $129 +

    Starter Box- $75

    Glow Driver- $15

    Manifold and Pipe- $75

    DX3S radio System- $249.99

Just adding that stuff up I'm at nearly $1200, or a net savings of a savings of $500.

  • Good tutorial vid Gary ! Nice layout on the

8ight-T 2.0 ! Looks awesome and handles great as well !

  • thanks bro..

  • No problem, we aim to please

  • i want to race and i dont have any raidos, servos,or engine.

  • For you the better choice is probably going to be to go with the RTR.

  • I must get this truck

  • Yes, you must :)

  • which one is better the rtr or the roller

  • I'd say it all depends on what gear you have, what you want to do with the truck, etc. If you're starting from scratch or don't have a decent .21+ engine, don't have a good radio, are looking for more casual racing but primarily bashing, etc then the RTR will probably be best. If you have a good engine, radio & servos, if you're looking for an all-out racer and don't mind painting, etc then the roller would probably be better. The basic truck is the same, it's the extras that make the difference

  • it also looks like it turn to wide

  • As I mentioned in the video the truck was a little pushy out of the box. It's easier for a beginner to let off the gas to get a car or truck to turn than it is to chase the rear end of a car or truck that doesn't have nearly enough bite. I also think if the track had more moisture to it the truck would have carved better.

  • its a nice truck but i dont like the body shape

  • First!!!! Nice truck!

  • first
