Mobile phone theft is a crime of the youth. We do not need to make everything theft proof, just take control of our children. We don't need cameras or community officers to control our children. Just take their phone and give it back to the kid he stole it from then send your child to read a book on ethics.

Tbh although that kinda behavior is not perfect, it is a thousand times better than an increase in ACTUAl , physical crime IMO

Its strange that the figures show crime has been decreasing for a decades, I would imagine (though too young to really know) it may be to do with the general lowering of standards of behavior, y'know, youths shouting on the streets, random cars going by really loudly, stuff like that (are these things more common nowdays?) - I would assume it just increases the perceptions of criminality and the fear of it.

cant really see the links to actual street crime and mobile phones although mobile phones are a starting path for criminals but take that away will just make them turn back to car stereos motorbikes cars etc. there not stealing mobiles for fun and will turn to something else i reckon . we need more police and tougher sentences for the crimes to make the risk of being caught not worth it!

I have been mugged a number of time in south london. Every time it has been by black youths/men. When is the black community going to deal with their young men.
