  • This is like a more hopeful version of Ligeti's "Lux Aeterna," which was used in 2001: A Space Odyssey, though both sound empty and desolate.

  • nigdy nie słyszałam niczego piekniejszego...

  • @TheAneta73 Soundtracki z "I'm a legend" i z "Cast away" są dla mnie równie fenomenalne :D

  • Just like with John Williams' "The Patronus Light" (Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, the choir here sounds so beautiful, harmonic, and my personal favorite reason........ ATMOSPHERIC!!!

  • This very score fits the scene perfectly when the aliens "spaceship" is flying over the icy landscapes. Another great Spielberg-Williams collaboration.

  • @queggy1 Did you know those were in fact advanced Mechas, not Aliens? It's a common misconception.

  • This is music only a master like John Williams can compose! This is outstanding and so deep emotional and that just with a choir! This scene in the movie I'll never forget. I had to cry while watching it.

  • @pianomusiclovr I couldn't have said it any better!

  • And thus 2000 years passed by :(

  • Varey, very nice!!!!!! ^^

  • hi everybody......is this composition on PDF on internet?..please, help me

  • I was very angry when I purchased this soundtrack only to find that there are several missing cues that Williams wrote - for example, the music that accompanies the scene where David asks Monica if she'll ever die (played motsly on piano, it's a theme that occurs often throughout the film's first 45 minutes or so). To me, it was the most beautiful of the themes.

  • @mrlopez2681 True. I miss that piece very much, too.

  • omg this film is sooo sad... :'( ..could anyone tell me when in the movie this song was played, plz? thanks.

  • @soffiethetoffee It's after the underwater scene, when David stood in front of the blue fairy. In the next scene, you see that white landscape in the distant future with that music track.

  • It's rather bone chilling. sounds like the distant future.

  • 2000 have passed, the scene of earth frozen in an ice age was amazing! I also like the concept of the robot vheicle that was made out of flying seperate parts. They should make a movie about something similar.

  • this is williams homage to Kubrick..it sounds a little bit like Ligeti György.

  • this is actually quite unlike most of JW's music

  • this is one of my favourite movies of all time!! :D

  • this was one of my favourite movies of all time///:P

  • Anybody have the soundtrack in mp3 format?

  • yes

  • Lookin for the blue fairy theme... where the boy is underwater with the sub. Anyone can send me the link plz??

  • I can't send links in comments, but search "Til Minne Om Steinar Lem" in YouTube...you find a video with a part of "The search for the blue fairy".

  • @MuseumOfVGM

    Thanks! :)

  • Thanks! was just browsing down the comments and saw your reply. Thanks so much! I've been looking for that piece for years now! Thank you MuseumOfVGM and mrprodigy83.

  • John Williams is from heaven!

  • this movie was mostly the brainchild of Kubrick I believe

  • This film always makes me cry :-(

  • Why doesn't Itunes have this soundtrack?

  • @creampackage easy because Itunes sucks.

  • @creampackage

    they got it now

it's calles "stored memories and monica's theme" by John Williams

  • @PowerCrumb45 so it does now as I can see. Thank you so much!

  • I cannot feel anything but pure gratitude for this soundtrack. Such a genuine mix of chords added to such a great movie. Thanks for sharing.

  • I feel like leaving this planet, can any one please tell me where can I download this song?

  • mmm.you can download this video and with superC program or blaze media pro extract the audio..

    hope it helps!

    =)

  • If you want to have crappy youtube sound quality sure.

  • You can still attain 128kbs+ quality if you watch it in HQ, some videos don't offer "HQ" but you can always listen to it in stereo by appending "&fmt=18" without quotes to the URL and stereo and the HQ equivalent MP4 will be delivered.

  • Just look for the soundtrack of A.I.. However you get to it ;) :P

  • I really hope you're not thinking about suicide...

  • @1945z ha i thought you were going to say "i feel like leaving this planet can anyone tell me how i can?"

  • how id love to see people sing this live

  • Perhaps it's possible to see them singing in the making-of? I think there was a little documentation about the work of Williams score of A.I.

  • Sadly, I have the two disc set and the 2nd DVD devoted most of its content to the set design and CGI but was anemic regarding the soundtrack, John Williams is hardly anywhere to be seen on the 2nd DVD and actually spends more time talking about the film dialog instead of the score ! He drops a script spoiler that may have been cut or left to the viewer when he says David dies at the end at the movie.

  • I LOVE this movie. Another classic film from Steven Spielberg, the director of

    "JAWS," the Indiana Jones films,

"Jurassic Park" "Jurassic Park: The Lost World" and of course, the epic Holocaust drama "Schindler's List," among many others.

  • i've always loved this part of the ending... its melancholic and somber atmosphere makes me feel kinda sad about it.

  • very sad song...

  • Yes, like in the movie it gives you the feeling of an "end time"-scene. It is a mixture of sadness and peace...

  • very good whay of saying it!
