  • That is badd ass

  • I remember my friend got one of these for his birthday back in the day , it still looks great.

  • I remember actually handling one of these bikes back in 1985 in the bike store the price tag was $400.00 I so wanted to get one but I got the Super Viper which was 175.00 at the time.

  • 10 thumbs up man, great bike, great job!!!

  • quick question:

do you know what size this Diamond Back is?

is it 18" or 20" wheels?

does the frame have a size or not? - Thanks

  • Check my upload vid for a very rare bmx bike

  • tough looking bike,love the 80s turbos.....

  • That's my favorite Bmx bike of all times!

  • IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN MAKING $ FOR IT PLEASE LET ME KNOW. E CAN WORK SOMETHING OUT.

  • I just hope that for all that show, you actually ride the thing and don't just let it sit in the corner collecting dust. I happen to own a Harry Leary, and I ride mine whenever possible. One of my favorite bikes.

  • This is insane! LOVE IT. Where is the front brake?

  • old days, I remember so well, I remember my KASTAN

  • I KNOW WHERE THERES ONE OF THESE FRAMES [SMOKED} IN MY FRIENDS BARN I REMEMBER WHEN HE GOT IT WHEN WE WERE IN 5TH GRADE LOL

  • Very 80's legendary old skool race bike... back in the late 70's-80's when Diamond Back was a GOOD company, who made their bmxs' outta 100% 4130 chromoly.

Now, they're cheap and SHITTY, steel crap bikes you can buy at Walmart.

WTF, happened to you, Diamond Back? The last GOOD quality DBs were made in the late 80's. :(

  • TobagoGas. Do you know Who Scaryleary IS? His IS BMX. Google his name, and you will be amazed.

  • I owned one of these in the mid 90's... I loved the 181 cranks - made the bike seem so fast with a 45t front sprocket - the cranks did not love me doing dirt jumping :( - had I known then what I know now, I would never have given the bike away.

  • Love it, remember these, rare as fuck now.

  • Damn its nice to see that bike again. My older brother had one and I had the Silver Streak, I won alot of trophys on a Diamond Back back in the day!

  • Nice Turbo..needs the front brake still..is this a repaint>?..looks mint..i have a 83 HL

  • left handed people do

  • dude thats the most gorgeus bike i evers een wow

  • are you willing to sell????

  • is this frame the same as a supergoose?

  • Great job! Although, the brake lever needs adjusting, it's a beautiful bike.

  • No it's a chromed sugino db turbo.

  • is there a bend in the front fork or is is the way it should be?

  • Hey...I'm about to restore my Harry Leary bike. Any suggestions on places to track down parts - especially pads, grips and seat. Thanks...The bike looks great.

  • Stunning man !!! Congratulations. As a 13 year old I dreamt of owning one of these mean mothers.

  • Where do you guys find these bikes?

  • Daaaamn, I'd like to hit some sweet jumps on that.

  • The frame looks great. Was it hard to reproduce the blue-smoke? I understand it's expensive to have done.

Mine has some scratches, but is still pretty good.

  • it looks gay

  • @tylemandan Yeah we know....your boyfriend said the samething.

  • I had one of the 1st of these to roll out..put it on lay away at Kirks Bike shop in Ramona ,Ca,,took months to pay it off but EVERYDAY i'd come in to look at her.

  • That's a bad ass bike, my dream back in the 80's......thank for the video (bring old time memories)

  • this bike is bad

  • thats when they made real american bmx bikes, not that crap they make these days.

  • I sold mine, I can just cry now. turbolite seat and 1 1/8 Ukai wheels and hubs. turbolite 3pc cranks and reactor forks that Eddie King gave to me at the 1989 grands in Louisville Ky. It felt cool having something an entire year before they were on the market. ,Mine wasn't black or smoked crome , it was really shiny crom-moly and loop tail also, I believe it was a Viper .sold all for $100bucks.sweet bike and I wish I still had it. I still have a super viper frame&fork and My favorite Formula One

  • Awesome machine. I had a Turbo back in the mid 80's which I loved dearly...remember those little "sealed bearing" stickers on the wheel hubs? Gotta love that sort of attention to detail.

  • Where did you get the sticker set at? Im looking for some to restore my HLT also.

  • Awesome! I had one right after my Cook Bros. & JMC rides. Loved the smoked chrome! Handled really well. Unfortunately, I folded the fork jumping and mangled the cranks (they were junk, really). Sure LOOKED cool tho! HAHA! Man, I miss it...

  • nice bike, but i have the truely old school bmx bike, a 1979 gt dyno. its the bomb watch the vid i favorited of oldschool bmx =)

  • God I wanted one of these SOOOO bad !!!! If it had the old DB branded Comp II's it would have been perfect !! Thats incredibly anal isnt it. I need a life.

  • How refreshing to see that someone knows how to hold the camera steady & to pan it around slowly so we can get a proper look at it instead of seeing a video taken by someone with Parkinsons & on speed.

Congratulations on a great bike & a worthwhile video, it's much appreciated.

  • the neck is sext!

  • good to see people keeping these mint oldschool bikes alive, they are like rolls royces compared to the modern day freestylers, other mint bikes from early eighties are kuwahara lazerlite, skyway ta,mongoose pro class,p.k. ripper & s.e. quad,g.t. pro, redline, hutch, and of course raliegh aero pro

  • ohhhh how sweet !! i cant believe that i sold mine yrs ago.... diamond back is gone..... i should have keep it... i had hutch, gt, redline and diamond back... hutch and diamond back went out of business.... yes i forgot the torker and cw... they gone out of business too... good old memory for me ... i raced from 79 to 92

  • diamondback didnt go out of business, ppl just stop buyinh them so there sold in sport authorities, dicks sporting goods, walmart etc.

  • nice bike , but funny as fook music

    cracked me up :)

  • I like it. The bottom bracket and crankset(especially) aren't original though.

  • How is the crankset not original?

    They are DB Turbo cranks.

  • Oh I think I mistook the crank dust cap for the head of a newer style bmx bottom bracket bolt. I found it strange initially that it didn't have a one piece bottom bracket and that threw me off I think.

  • That bike is the holy grail!

  • Working on a restoration myself and wondering if I can contact you with some questions.

  • very sweet i had a turbo & a formula one,and also a silver streak.great bikes and yers is lookin great man !!!!!!!

  • That was my dream bike in 1983. The Turbo or the Formula One. Thanks for sharing, man.

  • Oh yeah, those cool Oakley F1's. Thanks again-

  • i have a diamond back too

    it named joker

i can`t make any tricks but i wanna learn it :D

can you tell me , is it a good bike or not ??

  • its bad you either want the diamond back accomplice or a we the people like me my bike is only 25 lbs.. STOCK

  • lol terminator theme..

  • How do I get my hands on one?????

  • Is it restored? Is it an '83?

I have the 3rd oldest known Turbo. An '82

That bike looks perfect. Is it restored? Or nos?

  • Would you like to sell it?

  • Oh man! Beautiful job! Rode Diamondback my whole racing career '83 to '87. You forgot the signature Harry Leary front brake though.

  • Had one back in the day. All the kids in the neighborhood were jealous. My 26 year old nephew still has it in his garage. I mowed a LOT of lawns for that bike!
