hi .. think ur video is amazing ,, really interested in things like this,, what did it feel like there,, scary,, how are u feeling now after been there,, and i was surprised u could just walk through i thought there would be security to stop people,, how near do people live tp site
a few hundred have returned and live there, still! in Pripyat. not everything is dead there! dont believe the Media! go un IAEA and checkt for their reports. u'll be surprised!
dude you only have to worry about that if you touch more likely metal all the time there, but if you wanna get some mutation I recommend you go directly deep into the sarcophagus :D
I would never go anywhere near there... they found a fucking bicycle in a tree over 50 miles from there with trace radiation that had somehow gotten blown away that far... I can just imagine how much of you guy's hair has fallen out by now...
the reason I don't believe you is because Nuclear Plants don't explode, they melt down. The core melts thru its housing and leaks radiation. Any explosion would come from primary steam valves. What happened at Chernobyl is similar at 3 Mile Island, only no protocol in was observed here. Another thing, I have practical experience here because I happen to do NDT work in Nuclear Plants around the country, one of which may be powering your computer right now.
don't make fun of Speaker, he's enrolled in the Oregon Public School system. No wonder he doesn't know about what happened here. They drop the ball on all things history related.
steffinatorr blates doesnt know much about the zone. do some research next time? its not actually that radioactive...pripyat and the area surrounding the NPP is actually a tourist attraction now.
I just looked it up on Wikipedia and some other place, I was wrong. You could get in some pretty bad situations there. You guys were probably fine though, people saying you're going to die is just retarded.
well you already got some good doses of radiation so you could have just walked into the power plant.. maybe find a hole in the sarcofagus and enter reactor 4 .. yay.. let's film some of that plutonium...
i dont think anyone will reinhabit that place. theres a lake in there were if you stand on the shore for a minute you've already taken a lethal dose of radiation.
There's still pockets of radiation in some things and the ambient radiation levels are still fairly high. They seem to have a good enough Geiger counter that they're using as they go.
What would be of more immediate danger would be unstable structures, I would have a hardhat, you'd also look more like you were allowed to be there.
Not as much danger, but still pockets of radiation abound in that area. Not mention I noticed that they got really to the CNPP itself. Now THAT'S a dangerous place to be IMO. Enjoy your cancer boys.
I have been playing a game called STALKER Shadow of Chernobyl. A very atmospheric FPS-RPG. And before I even started playing the sci fi game, I found out it was based on a real life event. That really makes the game a lot more scary. It makes you wonder where our world might be many years in the future. As for what Will said, I think more likely radiation would kill an animal over time rather than mutate it. Insects are the only thing on our planet that would most likely survive the worst of it.
On the bit that they are standing, they are safe, if they go any further than where they are standing, they will receive massive amounts of radiation, about the same amount as gettign 30 chest Xrays a second, and, in 5 minutes, they would die.
wow that was an awesome video dude! that place is really spooky though, couldnt you have got cancer or something by walking around there? and is it actually legal to go there?
No there is not any mutated animals. I think. Never reported, hehe. Yes its legal to go around i the Chernobyl zone, but only with a guide. And the cancer, yes and no. You will absorb the same radiation like you will in an x-ray.
50.000 people used to live here. Now its a ghost town.
