@DanDruffification After you meet N and Reshiram in the Dragon Spiral Tower you have to go to the Resort Desert in the north of Route 4.There you'll find old underground ruins with some Pokemon outside (Hihidaruma).Go in and make it through the ruins,battle Team Plasma and at the end you'll find yourself downstairs in the ruins with the Team Plasma Boss.After that you are able to pass Route 8 and 9!Sorry for being late with my answer,I hope I could help you though!
